3. Exploratory analysis /data preparation
4. Introduction to Machine learning (use Andrew Ng's videos if you really want to go deep)

6. Natural Language Processing & Computer Vision.
7. Practice......................... Use Kaggle and Zindi and don't forget to share what you know with people.

Also watch YouTube videos (search for Bucky Roberts or Mosh Hamedani) and try to practice along as you watch.

Once you are done with the basics, get your hands dirty with codes and then proceed to the next stage in your learning path.

I don't know much about the said program but if I were you, I would focus on getting admission (regular) and try to explore the world of IT while studying in school. It doesn't matter the course you choose to study but I'll strongly recommend computer science due to your interest in IT. I understand the flexible nature of DL programs as it affords you the time and space to do many other things while pursuing your degree. However, you might be depriving yourself of the necessary exposure and valuable experience that a regular program would offer.
Conclusively, you do not have to wait till you are done with your BSc and NYSC before you start learning. Now is the right time. Get the necessary resources and start your voyage right away (if you have not started before).

Where do I startLearning bottom up or top down? Bottom up needs lots of math and maybe a good chunk of neuroscience too. Top down doesn't give deep understanding, but might let you do practical things with it. Connecting the two approaches is very hard.
Here's the simple version.
What these AI programs ("models" do is learn patterns. And patterns of patterns, and patterns of patterns of patterns, and so on. The number of layers is roughly the number of stages of patterns. The patterns are learnt from examples, lots and lots of examples. That takes a lot of computation. Once learnt, the models can be "run in reverse" (actually "forward" mode; it's learning that's "reverse" to match patterns and even generate predictions from them. With many layers, you get high-order pattern matching and can do things like interpreting language or producing images; the high-level patterns involved are so abstract it's hard to put into words what they mean.
They don't do reasoning or logic or planning at all. That seems to require some way of handling signals in neurons that is not modeled; it was lost along the way. They might simulate those things, but they don't do them for real.
