Hello,
You can fill in your Naija phone number. Just make sure you have access to the email you use for registration. That’s where further emails will be sent to.

Best wishes and safe flight
ojzreal:

Hi there, your profile just motivated and I hope to tap from your blessing. I just applied to Humber College, public Administration GC. Pls the part where it said canada status. I clicked student visa. Hope I'm safe. Considering the fact that I am still here in Nigeria requiring student visa
JayLaw2:
Humber College, Public relations. Previous education was Bachelors-Mass Communication. I'm self sponsored. Got an introduction letter from my office stating study leave approval and resumption date. cheesy Had a 10-year study gap but I have been working right from leaving school so was able to justify that with all employment appointment letters. I believe I also had a very detailed letter of explanation too. For everything I stated in the LOE, I had documents as proof including picture evidence where necessary.
At the end, no application is perfect. Pray for grace! It will end in praise for you and everyone still expecting an approval.

Good evening, colleagues. I have been granted my study visa. However, I am planning to go Canada during spring 2021 since lectures will still be online next winter. I therefore intend to apply for my son (5 years) whiles am here. Is this a good idea or I should wait and apply for him when I arrive in Canada. If is a good idea, what documents do I need?

I flew from Uyo to Lagos on Tuesday evening and I stayed with a family friend for the night. I arrived the airport around 10am for a flight of 1.40pm. I thought I was early until I saw the queue. Quick tip: even if your flight is for 6pm, get to the airport around 12pm and stay there till they are ready for you cheesy.

Ethiopian airlines usually do manual verifications of all students travelling to Canada. You really need to be there on time for this because the man doing it is slow and doesn't care about your time. He asked for proof of enrollment, admission letter, ArriveCAN slip, and visa page. Please make at least two copies of all of these too. After showing him, he'll snap and then send to someone via WhatsApp to verify. Once confirmed, your passport will be given a number and you'll then proceed to where it will be scanned again for secondary verification. After this stage, you will then go to where you can get a boarding pass.

The plane left Lagos around 2pm. I was seated at the back and had space to stretch legs smiley. We got to Addis Ababa around 7pm (Nigeria time) and then we entered a long queue for onward movement. From Addis Ababa, we went to Dublin for refueling and then to Toronto. Upon arrival, we talk a long walk (very long o) and got to immigration people. The woman that attended to me asked for these (in the following order):
1. Declaration slip (will be given to you in the airplane)
2. Passport
3. LOI
4. Student Status letter (enrolment letter)
5. School fees/tuition receipt
6. ArriveCAN page (apparently, I didn't even fill my own well and was delayed for a while. Make sure you fill yours well)
7. POF
8. LOA

She asked me the following:
Which department were you admitted into?
Why did you choose MUN?
What is your name?

Then she took my finger prints and issued me a Study Permit for 3 years (my program is for 2 years but I don't know why it was issued in excess).

I went to wait board a St John's flight after a long wait at the airport. Got to St. John without qualms. Reach my apartment, checked in and slept off.

Exams start on Monday. Canada is beautiful and nice. I love the place. Good luck to all who are applying or will soon come.

It has ended in praises.

Apparently we studied same course for undergraduate (mass communication) and I'm also heading to Humber for 2021 Fall session, would really like tips on how u constructed your SOP if it's not too much too ask. Thanks

JayLaw2:
No, I didn’t have to pay. You get an instruction on your tuition deposit when you get your letter of acceptance. I even deferred my admission from September 2020 to January 2021 without paying fees. I only paid before the winter 2021 tuition deposit deadline.

Thanks.

The POF I showed them was my funding letter. She just read it and that was all. However, if you're self sponsored or have a third party sponsor, it may be wise to travel with a soft copy or printed copy of the SOA. They aren't concerned about cash at hand.

One thing I observed about the Canadian border officers is that they're humane and understanding. If you explain yourself honestly and show them proof of what they asked for, even if it's soft copy, they'll acknowledge it.

Unlike Nigerian immigration officers that were begging me money before stamping me out.

Congratulations....

Is it possible that anybody has ever gotten any sort of update on their application or update on their visa tracking on a weekend. Or whichever update you will receive will be strictly Monday to Friday?
Thanks

I didn't do any test and no one asked for them. They didn't even check my temperature or anything. It was almost as if they didn't care about Covid-19. We only wore facemasks.

How are you coping with the timezone thing? It's 1:35am in Montreal and I'm awake. I slept using Nigeria time and I can't even force myself to sleep again.

Just to add to the items Rebecausoro listed, if you are destined to Montreal, please make sure you print your CAQ approval letter.

Shoutout to Obanidavid and Akannitommy cool.

Hello Reb,

Thank God for journey mercies.

What did you use as proof of enrollment? Will my course schedule/timetable suffice?
