Yes I am planning to hire professionals and I have #2m for startup, I don't know if that will be enough for a massage centre on the island.

stick to your boutique idea while incorporating your massage center to it if possible cause i believe in diversification..try getting a space that would enable you to do both but be smart enough to start with the boutique then you can start the other one when the first business picks up
Brilliant advice

Good morning Nairaland.

I know this is not the right place to write this but I tried writing this in the business section but it is not working so I decided to come back here.

We all have plans for 2021 and one of my plans is to have a boutique somewhere around Ikoyi but recently I saw a post on the net of how lucrative massage centers are especially on the island and since then I have been having a second thought. I am now thinking of having a massage centre instead of boutique. Should I continue my dream of having a boutique or I should try having a massage centre.

Does anyone here has an idea on how massage centers run. Pls I need good and urgent advice so that I can make up my mind on time, thank you.

Profitability shouldn't be the only consideration in choosing the business.

An important variable nonetheless but not the only one.

Just my thoughts though.

Making final decisions is one of the hardest when it come to business or acquiring a skill especially when you have options in your mind, but when your maker (God) is involve everything work for your good.

Firstly, I think you need not to listen to people telling you that a particular business is booming. A business can actually boom for some years and then another strange story in another year. Observe on your own, do your research. A good example of business booming right now is the POS business, for me I see it as a criminal business, it has done more harm than good. As such a business of that kind won't last.

Secondly, starting up a business here in Nigeria, I think you have to know the pockets of the majority, Are they wealthy or moderate? Will population patronize me? because I think this is one factor that drives a business.

A boutique or massage center? for me, with the present situations I go with boutique, people want to look beautiful whether they are sick inside or not they just want to look good and for that to happen you must change clothes. I love football, but I do not see my self visiting a massage center after playing football almost all days of the week, I rather visit my gym room. I know of a place where people visit the gym room ten times the massage room. E be like say Nigerians no like this massage of a thing. lol......

I pray God help you make good decisions.

What I'm about to say is unpopular advice but if I had 2m as a single girl, I'll add a little money, move to Canada, hustle and get my papers.

If the current trends in USD/NGN rates continue, in a couple of years, Dollar will hit N1,000.

At that point, if you've been hustling in Canada and come back with a few thousand $$$s, you could open your Boutique and Spa opposite Tinubu's house on bourdillion.

I'd say it depends on your area

Some places are meant for fashion alone, when people go there it's to but cloths

So study your area and know which of your business will strive in that area boutique or Massage

I will advice to stay with the boutique, I am a living testimony, I started a small boutiques in May 2019 with working capital of 135k, today my goods are more than 2.6 million, I just rented another new shop which by God's grace will start operation by January next year. On normal day profit of 25k is assured. And it is continuous.
Just make sure you have good location. Belive me you will make it big. Don't mind those that do say boutique business is saturated.

This is my new shop under renovation

My own advice is that do what u know. Leave massage alone for now. If u fail. U have yr sef to blame. It's so sad that u are confused because of the profit u are thinking of making. U look like someone that can easily be swindle to do anything.
If you like to have a massage center. Do that from ur profit from ur boutique shop.
