Rep. Onofiok Luke has noted that President Buhari’s approval of the Ibom Deep Seaport project is a step closer to resolving the challenges of gridlock on the Apapa Wharf Road.

The Representative, who represents Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom, made this in a statement in Uyo, describing the approval as a welcome development.

According to a news report by NAN, Rep. Luke thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the Ibom Deep Seaport project in the state and called the approval a welcome development given the socio-economic benefits embedded in the Deep Seaport project.

No doubt about that. Lagos needs de-congestion. Aside that, the port will creat passive employment for guys in the street to hustle and help our Aba traders

Still wondering what the govt can't give executive orders on activities of military and shipping lines operations..
1. the shipping lines reject empty containers that they're supposed return easily to their countries thereby leaving them on queues for weeks and months.
2. The military create artificial bottle necks for trucks so as to extort money from one way trucks. Sometimes a truck pays 50k to 150k to pass try one-way.

Even they collect above 2k from each okada daily and put marker signs aon thier lights on their lights as payment indicator.

Rivers State enthrones/pampers criminals, militants and kidnappers.

Nigeria at 60 only has 1 functional sea port. We need something better. We should have at least 3 world standard sea ports with proper maintenance but the Old men since 1999 don't think otherwise.

The politics behind Apapa port as near sole entry for a highly import driven nation is a major topic.

Watch as they will attempt to end the political career of this one for speaking up.

So many bizarre things in Nigeria:
Country surrounded by ocean waters in the south struggling with one dilapidated port with overwhelmed facilities
Country that has produced crude oil for over 50yrs still imports refined crude product

So you have to vilify and demonize Rivers State to sell Akwa Ibom. Rivers is not competing with Akwa Ibom for anything. It is highly unnecessary.
