Alaye, you're talking rubbish. The conversation was about the W164-based GL and you called it a true SUV. It's not. Only the W163 was a body on frame SUV, every other car in that series has been a crossover. The exact same thing as the Highlander you chose to belittle in the spirit of this thread's typical myopia.

I don't even want to talk about Honda and transmission issues ...it depends ...GL is more powerful engine and a true SUV , while I consider highlander as a crossover , it drives like car ....though GL is more expensive to maintain, it's a luxury car anyway and. It would give you what you want. Highland might be cheaper to maintain but in the long run I think GL is cheaper because benz parts last longer though a bit expensive....the only challange I have with the GL is the balloon...I don't know if 2008 do come with balloon
