Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has called on Nigerians to pray for leaders.

The lawmaker also urged Christians to pray for the country to overcome the myriad of problems, especially insecurity.

The Surulere representative advised them to imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ.

In his Christmas message, Gbajabiamila said periods like this call for sober reflection.

“Nigerians, irrespective of where they come from, must work towards achieving the dreams of our founding fathers, who made a lot of sacrifices for us to be one”, he stressed.

Noting that year 2020 came with the COVID-19 challenge, the Speaker said with prayers and observance of the established protocols, “the country shall overcome it in the end.”

Gbaja wished all Nigerians happy celebrations and appealed for caution as they merry.

Humans are the only creation of God with the ability to decide their environment. God has given us space and resources to help ourselves. If some group of criminals are looting the resources and same time asking us to pray for them then my prayer is that all of them and their families should die painful death.

Developed countries never achieve it by prayer but hard work and having a functional brain made it possible....idiot!!!

I'll rather pray for this country to split bloodlessly and everyone should find their route than waste my prayer, praying for a country that can't progress if we don't restructure or renegotiate our forced togetherness
