The only kind of marriage recognized by IRCC is court wedding so you’re technically single in IRCC’s eyes. If you have been living together for at least two years and meet other criteria, you can claim common law. If you don’t fall in any of the categories I mentioned, your spouse has to fill in his express entry profile that he’s single, he can add you after you have done the court marriage.

Good Evening all,
I recently developed cold feet about migrating to Canada because of how hard it is to get a high CRS score without MSc(thought of going for masters then I remembered ASUU wahala and also the certificate might not be ready when I need it and if I decide to wait till I get it then I probably will have to write IELTS again).

I decided to seek advice and guidance from the seniors in the house that succeed in the journey as i intend kick-starting the process by January. I have BSC and 3 years+ of work experience but I discovered that even if I make the highest score in IELTS I still won't be able to reach CRS cut-off so I included getting TEF which I seriously hope I pass as I will be learning French from scratch.

I have made up my mind to write TEF(the fear of not passing this in one sitting as I will be learning French from scratch give me cold feet) first while doing ECA, then IELTS and if I still don't reach CRS cut-off then I will explore PNP option.
So I want to ask if my decision is okay and how effective is PNP(I am in the construction sector,a Quantity Surveyor)?
Also what else(except masters) would you advice I include in my plans that will help increase my CRS score.

Your options are second degree as in page 1 of that link plus french if your crs is still low. There are also over 140000 people in the express entry pool looking for ways to increase scores. So its survival of the fittest.

Compliments of the season to everyone. Its been a while since i posted here... I trust everyone is enjoying the holidays. I have a question and i'm hoping someone here can help. My sister is planning to join us here in Quebec via express entry. However, we have been unable to get her school, National Open University (NOUN) to send her transcript to WES. All efforts to contact the school has proved abortive as we keep getting passed to someone else who passes us to someone else(you know the drill, Naija, what else is new?). Right now, i'm wondering if there is any other way to go about this. We have paid all the fees but we just can't seem to reach anyone to know what is going on. Is there anyone who did a BSc. with NOUN who was able to skip through these hurdles? I would appreciate any information you send my way.
