Good day House, below is my situation:

I am Nigerian but reside in Canada. I have an account with GTB with roughly N16m; I opened the account with aggressive contributions from here because I had plans to build my retirement home, but my plans have changed. Currently I intend to find a reliable broker what would let me use 90% of my funds to invest in some U.S stock for maybe 10-15years; I mean letting N16m idle in my savings account with little monthly interest payment from GTB isn't quite encouraging.

So, guys, what are your recommendations? During registration, my residential address has to match my ID documents here in Canada, as I don't have a Nigerian address-- I dig Trading212 but they don't support Canada. Does any member of this forum have a similar situation? How did you go about it?

I appreciate your guys' help. And by the way, I did read through the entire 205 pages, but nothing relates to my situation.

Thanks for your help guys!

Me, i live abroad , also have some change in Nigeria.

I opted for passfolio, you don't need a bill just bvn and passport.

It's also great for taxation, won't say more about this grin

Good day guys.
I'm trying to activate my T212 account.
There's a difference in the address I provided on T212 and my bank account. Reason being houses were renumbered.

I figure even if I get a signed and stamped bank statement, it will likely be rejected.

Will it be possible to mail T212 for a change of address?

What’s the best broker for day trading for someone in America. Robinhood has a restriction on day trading if your money is less than 25k dollars

Your minimum amount depends on the stock(s) you want to buy.
SENS, for instance, goes @0.95 dollars per share, while AMZN goes @3,283 dollars per share.

There's no fixed/pre-determined minimum amount for starting.

It all depends on what you want to buy, and how much you want to put in.

With Passfolio or any of the Nigerian Apps, you can trade with your naira domiciled in your GTB account , while still living in Canada.
That's what i do.
Suffice to say you have a functional GTB mobile App to be able to transfer money from the account.

I don't know if T212 is available for those in Canada. I'm in a different country, and not using T212 currently.

passfolio is like Trading212, it doesn't support Canada. When I selected Nigeria, they required me to add my residential address in Nigeria; that I don't have. Is there a way around this? Thanks...

Can't you use that?

The app usually hangs at my end.

Anyone with similar experience using this passfolio app?

It's kinda discouraging.

Since you're in Canada, convert the money to CAD and trade on WeslthSimple or Questtrade

Even if the address on your bank statement is not up-to-date, it is safer to use that one.
