Why are we worried about a Nigerian killed in Ireland, when thousands are dying every day in Nigeria? Black lives don't matter.

Yes, of course your kids will be what they will, subject to the society they live in. At least you don’t have a space programme so really their becoming astronauts is not entirely in your hands however much you wish it. They are subject to the latitudes allowed by the society they live in.
In Europe, black Africans are severely limited and restricted in terms of attainment though it is significantly better than before.
There are equal opportunities to an extent.

You're the only truly smart person here.

He's definitely living in a bubble.

I do not agree with the above contributors.

IRELAND IS NOT THAT BAD AS HE WAS DESCRIBING IT.

IRELAND is a country that has produced so many REV FATHER AND REV SISTERS.

FATHER WORK THEY ARE NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD as countless number of Irish priest have offered their service to serve humanity in different African countries where the terrain was even very difficult some even lost their lives.

If their people can leave Ireland and go to Africa and do FATHER WORK why will they be rascist?

At least their people have migrated to Africa in large number especially during the early years of pre-independence and after the Independence.

NIGERIA CAN BOOST OF:

LATE FATHER SLATTERY who is from Ireland served in Nigeria and he is one of the founder of St. Finbars College Akoka Lagos.

There was one Late Father Gerry Gogan from Ireland who was expelled from Nigeria because of his support for Biafra.

This Father Gerry Gogan died in Australia.

So I do not see such a people who like Father work to be that wicked.
Don't mind ignorant bigots. They want to be able to urinate anywhere they like in Dublin. grin

Don’t mind the idiot.
He never lived in Dublin.
The guy was shot at the back of my house.
He was mentally unstable. He went to the shop to buy things and he attacked the store manager.
The store called the police and the police traced him to his house in Manorfield.
The police that went to arrest him didn’t carry any weapons. He resisted arrest and brought out knife.
The police called the Armed Response Unit.
They came and he attempted to attack them with knife and he was shot.
It’s against the law to carry a deadly weapon here in Ireland.
I am not saying it was ok for him to be killed, but knife is considered a weapon here.

You seem to know the guy quite well

Why are you so clueless, how did you know she isn't aware of what happened. They must have made contact to the Nigerian embassy to Ireland before coming out to demand for justice. The Nigerian community in Ireland is also aware of what happened that's why they are told to remain calm for proper investigation and justice.

The guy was killed at the back of my house. I live in Dublin 15.
Ireland is the most liberal country in Europe, period.
I have trained children through University in Ireland and they are the best in their classes.
This dead boy punched the manager at Eurospar at Hartstown and robbed the AnPost with knife.
The Gardai went to arrest him and he resisted arrest. He wielded knife at the Gardai so they called the Armed Respons unit. He was shot because he won’t drop the weapon (knife).

I hear the guy also had about 30 arrests including robbery and assault, thathe assaulted his girlfriend with a hammer and belongs to a gang that has been terrorizing your area

There are many things people don't understand about living in abroad. People think life is rosy over there. No, it's not. Let me tell you some few things with my little knowledge of stay at Dublin, Ireland.

1. You won't be able to attend the same school with the oyinbos.

2. Your credit score will always drop sha.

3. Government will give you a special apartment meant for the black and this will reduce your credit score.

4. You can't buy things even if you're extremely rich.. You must build your credit score.

5. I guess you can't withstand the abscond and bullying. They will torment your life as hell. Nigeria government can't help out on this issue. It has been like that and it will always be.

6. The place is damn quite.

7. Here in Nigeria, you can piss anywhere but try that in Dublin, you're a gonna.

My fellow Nigerians, honestly, you can make wave and ways in this country with the little that you have. Don't stress yourself absconding to abroad.

Yes they do use force unlike here in England, i am not disputing that, some countries police use lethal force too, like South Africa, Nigeria, Dubai, Israel and ETC, I am also not denying there are racism in Europe or America it's just not as bad as the OP made out is it, I grew up amongst white people, i have also experienced racism. However, not every white person is racist.. If i went about thinking or believing that the system is against me or every white man hates me or i didn't get a Job because I am a black man, I wouldn't be where i am today, there are some things OP Mentioned that has nothing to do with racism e.g credit scores. I mean how is it racist not to have a good credit score?

When i was growing in England there were more racism then than now..

But then again you have to understand what opportunity really means in the first place. If you are a Nigerian in Nigeria, your comment is understandable since you've never really experienced it so it will be alien to you. What with the man no man mentality rampant there. And if you live outside Nigeria and you have to make that comment then Nigeria has not passed through you. So I cannot help you there. I don't know about other countries but where i reside, opportunities are abound. You just have to want it bad enough. And act on it. My using an astronaut as an example was an analogy. I'm sorry you had to take it literally. Point is, they can do and be whatever they want to be. Including being an astronaut.

Ok, if you say so. I known that your black children will not get full equal opportunities.

Yes more covert racism exists.

From what I've seen though, i think they are barely tolerating us.

In the us there's definitely structural racism, linked to wealth distribution, in Europe I see them trying to mimmic Americans.

Depending on where you are , interpretations may differ.

In general racism has powered the west and there's an enduring philosophy that protects it.

Thank God for the neo liberal system we've enjoyed so far, especially in western Europe.

I won't bank on it.

Yes, absolutely!

But were we are now is far better than were we were in the past, the 50s, 60s 70s 80s and even the early 90s were worst than today. I have kids. Some are mixed raced, some are black/African, I don't want to raise them hating each other and recently I have hardly experienced racism, This is because more black people and white people are speaking up against racism. I am definitely not in denial, I am being positive about it which might appear like denial to some people.

Some people called me names like, 2nd class european and all sort of insults on here for having this opinion, but it doesn't bother me. grin it could never be close to the racism i have experienced and to think that these people on here calling me names are supposedly my fellow black/Africans. I think it's because you personalise it, like you see it from how u r set up.

As for me, i see it clearly grin, despite the fact that I'm constantly around white people, courtesy of my partner.

The Idea is to be real and tell it like it is for the average black not just viewing through personal experiences.

No it doesn't have to. If a person's mentality is plucked up, it doesn't matter where the person lives he'll still be plucked up because of his or mentality. And I live in the U.S. The same racist country you all cry about it being racist. But then why is it different for me? I have a job where blacks, Koreans, Chinese, mexicans, whites, etc report to me. If whites are so racist why would they even listen to me or work under my directions? Let me tell you what they care about. They care about what I bring to the table. And the job is dangerous af but they still do what I tell them to do when I tell them to do it. No questions asked. I live by these simple rules;

1. Stay far the pluck away from black people and most especially Nigerians because their mentality isn't normal.

2. Obey the law.

3. Do your job and be an expert at it. You'll be almost indispensable.

4. Respect yourself and everyone else will respect you.

You can never go wrong with that.
