In an ideal world, a paternity test would be an automatic and compulsory test done in the hospital right after the child is born, while both mother and baby are recovering.
I believe this would benefit not only the father (for obvious reasons), but the mother, child, and society as a whole.

I don't know why some women are trying all means to make sure they cahnge the mindset of Men who made paternity test compulsory once their child is born. you can only be afraid of paternity test if you're guilty ( even the bible said "No Peace For The Wicked"wink.

it can seem offensive to new mothers in monogamous relationships to be accused of something so egregious.

Here I will lay out a comprehensive list of benefit to compulsory paternity tests to try to convince even the most skeptical.

1. Benefits for father:

This one would be most obvious. The father would be 100% sure that the child he is raising is biologically is. This is a certainty I think women take for granted, so if this can assuage new fathers, what a great thing. Imagine if he finds out the child isn’t is at the hospital, before he has time to form an emotional attachment. Then he can save a lot of time, money, and heartbreak.

2. Benefits for mother:
The benefit for the mother is that she never has to worry about the father accusing her of cuckolding. It’s quite sad, but some men can be abusive with their spouses and accuse the mother of tricking them into raising another man’s child, even if that isn’t true. And, the sad truth is, without paternity tests, he can never be 100%, so he get some sympathy, even if he is otherwise being unreasonable. But with compulsory paternity tests, she can say “No, what you are saying is 100% untrue,” and this can prevent a lot of potential abuse and slander in the first place.

3. Benefits for the child:
With the paternity test, children can be secure in the knowledge of who their biological parents are. Not only will this prevent the disintegration of family units, but it is important for someone to know their true biological origins for medical reasons, i.e. their medical history.

There is no reason that paternity tests should remain a taboo subject as it once was, and remains, in my opinion, a remnant of a more archaic time. (Most) men have sex before marriage. Naturally, (most) women have sex before marriage. Paternity is no longer 100% guaranteed since both partners don’t marry off young, and there is less societal pressure for a woman to remain a virginal bride. Even then, paternity was not 100% guaranteed. Why not 100% guarantee it?

I will admit, even as someone who advocates strongly for paternity tests, I would still feel a little sting if my partner demands one, as I will probably be hormonal and stressed carrying his child. That’s because in our society now, paternity tests aren’t used or seen as the useful and benign tool that they can be, but as a necessary evil to only bring out if infidelity is suspected.

I think we can change that though.

Have a law that makes paternity tests safely and routinely conducted by hospital staff after birth. This will make paternity tests less taboo, and they will be seen as just another routine test, and it will also provide a net positive to society as a whole, or at least a net neutral. I cannot see any potential downsides to it, since they are safe and do not harm the child.

I thought about this too. Paternity and maternity test should be carried out on children at birth, this should be backed by law.

Just as routine test like genotype, blood group test, breathing test, hearing tests are carried out. This will stop child swap issues and paternity fraud.

Till this is passed into law every man has the sole responsibility to carry out the test as soon as the child is birthed.

Doctors swap children at birth in many cases, mothers also needs some level of maternal security.

It's like everyone on this site wants everyone else to be as miserable as they are. Trust means that you give the person the benefit of the doubt unless there is reason to suspect something is wrong. If it's that important to you, do a paternity test for your own children.

How can you just wake up one day and ask your wife for a paternity test to verify if she hasn't been whoring around and carrying another man's child as yours That's like the ultimate offence.
If you must conduct such a test, then she shouldn't be aware.
