But you used the expression "a failed nation"... That's totally different. I don't think Nigeria is a failed state, even though things need improvement, but Nigeria cannot be categorised as a failed state.

A failed state is one which has no sovereignty or control over it's territory, so you can't categorise Nigeria as one.

Need improvement? The country needs a total overhaul. No society is perfect
The US needs improvement
UK needs improvement
SA needs improvement
Niggeria needs a total overhaul starting from the mindset of the people.

Im glad you defined the meaning of a failed state. Looking at your country, does it not fit the bill? The only control the government has is over the docile citizens. To punish and inflict hardship on them for no reason.

The country has no control over its territory, no control over security, no control over its economy,..... what are we saying. Name one sector that works please. Apart from maybe the banking sector. Name one sector in the hands of Nigerians that works. I'll wait

You seem not to understand what territorial integrity entails... It's all about political independence and not a systemic problem like you are mentioning.

We do have a systems issue in Nigeria, a lot of sectors arent doing well, but do we have a government? Yes, do we have armed forces? Yes, do we have customs and immigration at our borders and airports? Yes. Do we cast our votes, rigging or no rigging? Yes!

These are the fundamentals that make up a sovereign nation. The problem of infrastructure and lack of political will is another thing entirely.

Mind you, I am only writing from the academic point of view. I totally understand your sentiments as a Nigerian but we have to be clear about certain terminologies so we don't say A when we're trying to say B.

Arrrrrrrh

The first guy above on her tweet have said all. And she couldn't give me a better reply than those feeble words she wrote.

The guy above me have said a fact, his first paragraph have said it all.

Now majority of this Rich arewa guys can't stay oversee completely. They can go out and school there but to stay there, thier parents believe they might throw thier religion or become less religious since they are mixing with other people. Nobody to draw their attention back.

I remember one of my lecturer in school, this man studied in Malaysia and still came back to our school, presently now he's our assistant HOD. If I get the opportunity to leave Nigeria and school there, I won't come back in sooner time. I will make sure I have earn alot before coming to Nigeria to invest. Leaving there doesn't mean I have forsaken oversee no, I will still be in touch with them. I can't invest in an uncertain state alone unless it's not GOD WILL that's the only way I won't leave Nigeria.

Nice words.. U must be a graduate. grin

What I say is not a about dreams but my own research on how to become a millionaire in US Dollar in Nigeria, in a period of a decade, rather than running to America which I know it will take me up to 3 decade, before I become a millionaire in u.s. dollar.

Now I am not saying that I can't travel to America or Europe, I can only do that based on a course after my course of study I'll return back and implement what I learn, because there is a world of opportunity here for breeding millionaires rather than in Europe or Asia or America, because it's already there is already popularize.

Africa is the last front for breeding millionaires it will take you long before you become a millionaire in Europe or Asia or America

you can only help yourself by going there to learn from them and come back an implement what you have learnt rather than staying back and struggling

How many of the African migrant that went to Europe Asia and America and become a millionaire please can you point out them let me know

With everything u have said, "u still haven't been able to tell me how it is easier to be a dollar millionaire in nigeria thru agriculture than it is for a migrant to be a dollar millionaire in Canada". U still haven't been able to name one nigerian dollar millionaire
in Nigeria who became a millionaire thru agriculture & who tried being a millionaire in Canada at d same time. Ur write up is void of facts and evidence. There's nothing in ur write up that substantiates ur claims. U have no personal experience to back up ur claims & u don't have a single reference anywhere to substantiate anything u have said. Ur claims are just wishful thinking at best dreams. When u have verifiable facts based on ur own personal experience or several instances of individuals who have achieved dollar millionaire status thru agriculture, then u can tantalize us with ur theory that "it is easier to be a dollar millionaire in nigeria thru agriculture than it is for a migrant to be a dollar millionaire in Canada".

It's easier for her here, licencing to practice medicine in Canada alone can make you run mad, most doctors that move over there end up doing other jobs. Moreover, she seems extremely comfortable here so why the hussle??

I smell lies..I perceive she want to catch cruise to belittle those who are in Canada or hustling to make it over there like that Muyiwa guy whose story went viral on his relocation to Canada.

How much do you even earn as doctor in Nigeria compared to the basic pay of even a regular worker in Canada..Don't let us go there..who dash monkey banana..who wan give you Dr Job in Canada from Africa or Nigeria...Nurse Job sef you will not see if you don't train again in the system from the scratch.

I don't blame you as a black man, you are suffering from low self-esteem and inferiority complex that is what most black men suffered from
because you hardly see a white man migrating to Africa to hustle, except some Asian people
most Asian went to Europe and America and learn,, then go back to their country and develop, that is the reason they are heading Africa today but most African migrate and never come back, there rather remain slavery, working menial jobs with their higher degree, doing all sort of work, but never want to come back and develop their own

Is the low self-esteem and inferiority complex is the problem so I presume you are suffering from that, that is why you can't see beyond Asia and Europe and America, you only think that is only when you go there that you make it, I pity your mediocre

The owner of Alibaba went to United States and study and learn and later return back to his country, now he is billionaire in China
But most black African can never have such mentality because they mentality is very low

I pity for any black man who is not smart enough in this 21st century
u are a mumu man,sholve this this write up in ur ass..u always talk off point......are u a dollars millionaire?if No...then shut the Bleep up...i repeat,u r d mumu black man..

The social term for what you are suffering from is called: INFERIORITY COMPLEX.

It is simply what all of you folks from that society suffers from. You see a fair lady, and boom....the next thing you think is how to wife her. Believing that making her one of your already many wives will increase your societal acceptance. And then, you get disappointed.

Sorry, who's the fair lady that broke your heart?

Meanwhile, for people who really know where they're going.... it's so glaring that Nigeria is not encouraging.

See what people are doing in Nigeria. wink Be it East, West, North or South, progress and growth. Left alone by foreign interference, Nigeria will be the greatest place in Africa. Actually, right now, I would rate only South Africa, Morroco and Algeria as possibly better.

My fervent wish for those leaving Nigeria and hurling back insults at the country and people is that they never return to Nigeria. I wish they will discard their Nigerian passports and never mention Nigeria again. The work of Nigerians interested in building Nigeria will be much easier without having to deal with the consequences of the constant negative harping of such individuals. Since Nigeria is such a nightmare for them, they should seek therapy and forget Nigeria; after all, Canada has heavenly health services, including psychiatry. Be a Canadian and concentrate on Canadian issues. No nation is perfect including Canada and since cussing helps solve issues, according to some, I’m sure there are negative things about Canada for which insulting Canada daily will bring about and even better Canada.
