Any information abt this?

https://www.nairaland.com/6346148/agony-passport-expiration-vietnam

Maureenho:
We have two Embassies in Vietnam and non of them is issuing passport. They are always at the mercy of Nigerian Embassy in Malaysia. A lot of us who are genuinely working are at edge of loosing our work because of issue of expired passport.

Staying a day after ones visa expiration in Vietnam is 5 years entry sanction. Why can’t Nigeria immigration Service do non-appearance passport for those their passports have expired like other African countries here in Vietnam.

Most of the African countries don’t even have Embassies much more a passport desk here but they never lack any basic service from their government. My Ghanaian and Uganda friends are not shaken at all by this pandemic limitations and expiring passport wahala. My Ghanaians friend sent their copy of their expiring passports to their High Commission in Malaysia and all their passport were done and sent back to them through DHL.

Ours is a different ball game even when we have our finger prints and details in the immigration database. Most countries don't have issues with their own Embassies even when the Embassies are not sited here. They are 100% assured of any basic needs they might be in need. Why are we a pain to our citizens. Why can't the citizens of Nigeria be proud of Nigeria just for once. I am really pained and our help is only from above. We have the risk of loosing our jobs and returning back to Nigeria just to renew our passport and have no chance of coming back due to the fact of border closing on foreigners. If our passports can't be renewed in another country where we have two Embassies then what is the purpose of having Embassies there.

Are we truly a shithole country likeTrump said?

Naija why? Are we cursed as a nation?
Analogue leaders in high places of authority?
What is wrong with us?

quick question pls,can someone else take my documents down to be authenticated?

I live in akwaibom and was thinking of sending my documents to a relative in Abuja to help me with the process. would that be possible?

Last time I was there, yes. But it has to be someone who bears your surname. He or she has to go with international passport or driver's license.

Of course there are backyard runs too

Hey guys, how are y'all doing??

It's a freezing 8 Degrees here now and it's not funny. You don't want to wake up and leave the comfort of your bed cos once you step outside, it's hell in a freezing way.

But we gats keep chasing the paper.

So I was talking to some Nairalanders here and for the first time, it actually dawned on me; the bold step I took. Like a lot of you have mentioned me on thread and commended my bravery for a female but only now did it dawn on me.

How I was able to quit my job, how I was able to part with my life's savings, how I was able to push through despite being scared as per visa on arrival, how I was able to make a trip alone to a place I knew nobody, how I was able to keep it together during the trying times.

Well look at me now! See how far God has brought me!

I'm writing this to encourage those currently planning to make a move to whatever country.

See, the easiest part is applying trust me. It starts getting hard at quitting your job no matter what it is. I was earning a meagre 60k per month with so much stress and less appreciation. However, knowing I at least had something was at the time more comforting than the unknown.

The authentication part is easy. If you don't stay in Abuja, you may procastinate and ask yourself questions but once you make the trip, the rest is easy.

Next, parting with your money. I swear you would turn FBI and your faith will skyrocket by force. It's like, shey I no go just hol this one wey I dey see?

Then come leaving proper. The traveling and plane ride is exciting oh and you'll thank God a million times especially. Then you land and it hits you....only me, no work, which way....lol.

But from then on, as long as you persevere and keep at it, it only gets better.

All the best people

Because we don't need it. Don't use everything you see to ridicule Nigeria .
Our weather is not as cold as Non African countries. The lowest we can ever in Celsius is 24°(S-west) which doesn't even require keeping the ear warm

Nigeria does not experience the cold the have here. I'm currently wearing a Jean and a sweat pant ontop, a turtle neck shirt, a t shirt ontop, a sweater and a huge jacket with gloves. Oh and two socks. I'M STILL COLD and shaking inside

Wish I could share some pictures here but not possible.

I don't want to discredit the OP but in my opinion, that's not true. As at yesterday, some people's letters were ready

Hey guys...

Hope the year started on a good foot for y'all.

It's been resting and hanging out with friends for me. Almost forgot what that feels like.

Now that Vietnam has started issuing visas again, I thought I'll give a recap of the process and the latest updates because I've been getting a lot of mails on that. This way, everyone benefits

The recap will be in two procedures

1) The normal and initial procedure which I followed and is still valid

2) The new procedure which is still okay but involves quarantine changes.

PROCEDURE 1.

1) Get your TEFL or TESOL or CELTA certificate
2) Get you original degree certificate or your highest qualification
3) Get a police character report
4) Get a medical report
5)Authentic these things at the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese Embassy
6) Send to your agent and they take it up from there
7) Pray

Now note that this is a recap. A VERY DETAILED PROCESS is at the beginning of this thread. It's still valid.

Now to PROCEDURE 2

1) Get a copy of your degree
2) Get a copy of your passport
3) Passport picture
4) Send to your agent
5) Pray

Sounds easier right?

Well here's the difference.

P1 gets you aone year visa and WP but it isn't really available right now via agents. Only an international school or big companies can have access to that and you know who they'll get in first.

P2 is a 3 months visa without a work permit.. The advantage?
1) You get to come in first.
2) Yes you can get part time jobs but to get full time job, you'll need a WP
3) In the course of the three months, if you get a full time job, then your employer can help you with a longer visa and WP
4) So yes you can extend or change once you're here
5) You can even decide to extend immediately you come in whether you get a job or not. It all depends on you.

My advice?

Even though right now, P1 is not available, still go ahead and authentic your documents and get the other documents needed. It's going to help when it's time to extend your visa.

And yes P2 is a good option now .

For those who have been getting ready and waiting to come in, I'll say try to come in by February March because it's the start of a new semester and also, lots of people travelled back to their country . The job market is still huge so chop chop and all the best

Picture for attention....Bun Bo Nam Bo. My now best Vietnamese food

Whyna, Please how much does the extension cost ?
