Dividend payment and EPS is the most times important yardstick.
Yeah. Access has a poor dividend history. Let's see what they do this year.

PharmAlfred:
Access is hugely undervalued. See it trying to rub shoulders with the big boys. Hope it moves someday. Nigerian coys are largely undervalued though. Most pay dividends way above most celebrated international companies.
This picture does not do justice to comparisons between GTB, Zenith and Access banks...

For the picture to be complete, it would be nice to see their total revenue, equity, assets and liability as well...

We need to know how much they invested to make this amount of profit... That will help us compare apples to apples....

To be realistic, anyone expecting Access bank to pay a comparable dividend with other banks does not really understand their growth model...

As long as they continue growing via inorganic means, forget high dividends from them...

The monies they use in doing acquisitions has to come from somewhere.... If they start paying a high dividend, I'll be disappointed...

Yeah. Access has a poor dividend history. Let's see what they do this year.
You know Access dilutes their income with all sorts of overhead costs.

Every acquisition they make comes with added overhead. That is inefficiency.

Among all the banks GTB and Zenith are the most efficient banks.

ebuka1997:
It increases manipulation, insiders can even short their stock and all sort of front running. Nigeria’s market is fragile, no solid fundamentals and not like there’s any fed here backing the market, foreign investors/hedge funds would step in and short the market to hell
The issues you’ve raised are valid but not insurmountable. Like in other climes were it is practiced, these concerns were also expressed and sufficiently addressed. In our case and as it obtains in developed markets, the solution is strong regulation. With adequate regulation and rules guiding short selling properly defined and enforced it will help secure investors confidence in the market.

In the case of institutional investors and FPI taking advantage of the opportunity to crash the market being major players in the market, the regulator can bar them from short selling or restrict the size of their short positions. This way the market is protected from “S&’D”.

Another major factor to prevent market manipulation is banning naked shorting. I think this is already stated in NSE rule book.

The benefits of short selling are enormous and healthy for our market. It helps provide liquidity, market information, and market correction.

lol, Sir please check the annual report of the company, for the period ended May 30 2020, the company made a loss of N7.7 billion, I believe whatever they are sharing as dividend pay-out to shareholders was made between June 1st and November 30, 2020, and we both know that's a fraction of the proceed they made from selling their factory to Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria Plc, after the deal was completed in September.

In the absence of the consideration of N2.124B from the sale which led to a profit on disposal of N1.742Bfrom the sale of the facility, PZ would have made a loss of N1 billion in q2 2021.

However, let's see how the company performs in the final quarters of its reference period, and how the market reacts to this, as nobody knows where Mr. Market is going. to the best of my understanding the recent border reopening and the gains from the free trade agreement should help to position the company better, given it has operations in 13 african countries, with Nigeria, Ghana and kenya maintaining their status as manufacturers of the products of the Group in Africa
