Senator Shehu Sani says President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha do not need to receive COVID-19 vaccine on live telecast, Igbere TV reports.

Tweeting on Friday, Sani said Nigeria’s leaders should only ensure they are vaccinated with the same brand as would be given to ordinary citizens.

“No need to Vaccinate d VIPs on live TV.Just do the right thing, when you vaccinate the leaders with Pfizer, make sure the people are also vaccinated with Pfizer,” the former Kaduna lawmaker wrote.

“When you vaccinate the People with Russian or Chinese vaccine, make sure the leaders are also vaccinated with same brand.”

Nigeria is expecting the US-manufactured Pfizer-BioNtech COVID-19 vaccine at the end of January.

The government is also in talks with Russian and Chinese authorities on the possibilities of getting COVID-19 vaccines manufactured in the respective countries.

I don't agree with shehu sanni on this....it does not work like that in Nigeria especially where the citizens do not trust the government, Some might say the vaccine will kill them so therefore, they won't take it but when they see the number one citizen and the number to citizen of the country on live television taking the jabs, I think that will give them sense of trust so is the way to go even in the developed countries subject to the kind of privilege whereby he the prime minister or the president get the jab on live television

Sheu Sanni has raised another cogent point, but he should not have used this point to decimate or denigrate the essence of the live broadcast of the vaccination of our President, Vice President and SGF on Television.

What is the rationale behind the live vaccination broadcast?

The sole reason for the live broadcast is to create awareness and acceptability of the vaccine by Nigerians so that they can also subject themselves to the vaccination

Many Nigerians don’t have the belief and trust in the vaccines based on religious indoctrination.
I can remember while I attended a church service in Lagos, The pastor was trying to play down the vaccine, telling the congregation that the vaccine is a chip inserted into the body and one of the signs of endtime. Cos the chip can be used in future to control the person vaccinated.
[b]Pastor Osinbajo, a senior Pastor in RCCG which is one of the largest denominations in Nigeria taking this vaccine will at least give a kinda confidence to many Christians in Nigeria and southerners by extension.

The President, Mohammadu Buhari is one of the most respected Northerner in the north whose population is dominated by Muslims. Muslims and northerners seeing the live broadcast will also have the believe in the drug and jettison their disgust for western vaccines which they believe that it is a means of reducing their population.

In fact I don't know why you people are laying emphasis on compulsory showing of vice president yemi osinbajo, president Buhari and secretary general on live TV for administer the COVID-19 vaccine

I won't be surprise if the vaccine Buhari and Osinbajo receive is different from the one given to the common man.

All the same, they should make sure to vaccine doesn't get to Alaba yet because some people are patiently waiting to produce fake.

This year some people go use fake vaccine take hammer. just like last year wey some people use Covid 19 and Covid 19 palliative hammer.

Nothing is wrong in doing so to create awareness.Even in developed world,many are reluctant to present themselves for the vaccination let alone Nigeria where there is conspiracy theory of a certain "mark of the beast". The main point of what he wrote is "Giving Nigerians the same brand of vaccine the leaders get" Always identify the main point of the matter before you reply. The emphasis is not on television show as he has said!
