That was a stupid play by Henderson. No need for him to go in with the knee, it was unbelievably dangerous. Could see doing it with opponents for safety but Bailly's back was to him posing no threat.

Henderson was right to go with his knee, that is how GK guides/protect themselves.......Bailly should be up there with the Watford player.

Headers are difficult to save, that is why every GK do come out to stop the cross (except Uncle Degea).

A goalkeeper must protect himself as well as the other twenty-one players on the field.

Imagine if a striker did that to a goalkeeper. There would be outrage and likely paired with more than just a one game ban. Smashing a knee into someone's head is more dangerous than a two footed tackle. The responsibility of protecting the safety of others on the field belongs to everyone, including goalkeepers...

- protect themselves
-discourage opponent from attacking the ball

FIFA/UEFA/all football orgs are aware of this.

The way headers are so difficult to save, 2 GKs standing on the goal line won't save that Mctominay's goal.

We are advised to always stop the cross, to avoid stories that touch.

I don’t even get that kind theory. You nip things in the bud.

It’s football 101. You block crosses from coming in, you block shots from reaching goal, you punch out crosses. You don’t allow a player a free header 6 yards from goal just because you don’t want to injure your defender.

Keepers are taught to clear out everything including the ball and they use their knee for protection. The reason De Gea is often seen rolling on the floor after any aerial tussle is that he doesn’t implement this properly.

Bailly was unlucky that’s all. That is why it is not good to come from a village. If you don’t have a village you can’t have village people.
A good number of his injuries have just been bad luck and not really his fault, like when his captain gave him concussion.

The argument no make any sense, i just dey read comment dey shake my head. Some people here have criticise Degea for not always coming out to clear set-piece, now some are criticising Henderson for doing what Degea doesn't t do. Baily should have attempted to head that ball out, i hope his injury isn't serious...

Out of the spotlight and media scrutiny of United, most of these defenders look like the second coming of Nesta and Maldini because they only hype their good sides and ignore their weakness, but as a united player, they only decide to see that one mistake you made like 6-7 matches ago and dwell on it while using it to judge you, thereby ignore your numerous good games just because you play for united and every media is desperate to tag you a fraud or overated or a flop, because doing so is fashionable and trendy and will generate more clicks for your blog.
