Kriss216:Not true, while you are complaining, pple are cashing out big time from legit businesses. I personally bought a land in 2016 and started building in the heat of burahis hard economy and today am living there. It's worth at least 5mil. Pple are still making it in this country OK! |

This is mental slavery. Please this is wrong. How can you say Canada ain't better than Nigeria in all ramifications? Canada is even better than the US. Princewill1: |

Oblongata:It is people that think life is all about making money and enjoying luxuries that will follow this poster. How do you live comfortably in a country in this digital age that can't even get the basic things done. A man that has money can basically afford alternative sources of electricity but does it mean he's happy about it. Why can't someone just pay his bills and reap the dividends. |

In every index that applies to living standards (health, security, prosperity levels etc), Canada is far better, so what aspect are you talking of when you say living in Nigeria is far better? Is it the epileptic electricity supply, the unprofessional/brutal police force, bad roads, dilapidated infrastructure, nepotism (man must know man phenomena), kidnapping, banditry, terrorism, armed robbery or food insecurity (where the prices of food fluctuates widely based on issues)... what aspect exactly are you talking about? Sure some of those things that I just listed exist in Canada BUT they are all at extremely low levels in Canada. As usual, the issue is you are likely earning a salary that is higher than the average Nigeria and you are shielded from a lot of things, so you can make a false (and pure subjective) claim that "living in Nigeria is far better than in Canada". blackpanda: |

blackpanda:I was stopped today 12/01/2021 by a Nigeria soldier and almost got harassed just because I looked fresh. The mumu was asking me what I do for a living. Do you know in Nigeria, it's a crime for you to look fresh and you can be killed by any police just for looking fresh? Do you know in Nigeria, it is a crime for you to use an iPhone? You can get killed just for possessing an iPhone. They no born you well make you follow olokpa drag and speak English. Do you know once you drive a nice car you are tagged a Yahoo boy in Nigeria even if you make your money legitimately? If you try dragging with them just know they will pull the trigger and you are gone. Brothers, this country is not safe for human beings to live. People live like animals here. All the rubbish they do here, do they do such in saner climes? That's why people are making the move cuz they don't want to die an untimely death. On the 30 Dec, 2020 around 5pm in a broad day light, my phone, 2 ATM cards and wallet were collected from me with a locally made pistol by 2 robbers. Now, after experiencing all these ordeal, you will now be preaching to me it is nice to stay in Nigeria and make all the money so as to top forbe list when you know that insecurity is a big issue in this country. You haven't secured your life, it is money that is our issues? When you know that even the common basic needs of humans saner climes offer are celebrated as luxuries here in a country of over 200 million people. When our lives are not safe, is it money that will now be our priority? Let's be honest with ourselves for once. My top priority right now is not money but peace of mind and freedom to move even in the night without the fear of being kidnapped or robbed. So, let' be guided with what we wish for. cc: humilitypays gopel8052 |

Mcslize:sighs. Insecurity in Nigeria is really a big joke, I honestly agree with you on that. What more can I say ![]() All Nigerians cannot flee Nigeria to abroad, its not possible, so we must keep encouraging those that wish to stay back to do so without regrets |
| Re: Canada Hype And Travel Rush: Here Are Things You Need To Know by Mcslize: 10:52pm On Jan 12, 2021 |
humilitypays:Of course, everybody cannot move. But those that choose to move and have the means, should not be discouraged. No matter how we tried to paint Nigeria to be a nice place to stay, we should always have in the back of our minds that we will always fear for our lives. There have been so much gunmen gunning down people lately. If you do check front page, you will see so many issues of people being killed here and there. If we go out and we get back home, we always thank God. Cuz some go out and never return. That's Nigeria for you. |

encorage nigerians to stay back? how do you encorage someone that hasent got 9 months salary to stay back. my junior brother just arrived 2 week ago. he said since their salary has been increased last year and they onnly gave him 6 month salary. he is into farming business too, i also invested in his business to help him but fulani guys have destroyed the farm with their cows.if you have the opportunity i beg leave joor. if you leave and you are abroad and you are not rich, please stay you will still be alright. i have a uncle who lived abroad for many yrs but now 65 recieves 2500 pounds in pension every months. you can go to another afrcan country to live a good life with your pension. there nigerians abroad that now live in other west african countries are enjoying their pension and are living a good life. if you are good in business and have the money, then stay in nigeria. but i still believe even if you are rich you need a secound passport. many rich nigerians have second passport for their family 2. because if anything happens you can easily relocate to your adopted country. |

From my little experience of living in USA I relocated Dec 2019 with my son though he is a United States citizen through CRBA to join my husband I thank God every day that I did Am a doctor and was working with a private hospital in PH before relocating .My salary was 135k and it was barely enough to make ends meet I supplemented with treating people in their homes Though am yet to start working in any field , am preparing for USMLE I got a Job to work with ABIA state primary health care as. Medical officer but I turned it down for PP because they have not been paid for almost 2years Abroad is not a bed of roses but am sure am more comfortable here Because am not working my son qualified for Medicaid and I will always be grateful for it One thing happened to my son and I even questioned my own practice in Nigeria Even when I called my consultant pediatrician and told him what happened he said I should thank God I was in USA when it happened if not my son would have died. |

I woke up one morning to find my son not responding to stimulation I tried waking him up but he vomited and vomited again I was scared because last night he didn’t want to sleep and was playing and hit his head on the wall, this resulted to a mild swelling on the head Being a doctor I was thinking of medical possibilities and was scared My husband was at work and couldn’t pick his calls I called 911 and the came within 5 mins and my son was taken to Texas pediatric hospital They people were in communication with the pediatrician on call My son blood pressure was checked and found to be very low Keep in mind my son was just 1 year old Throughout my practice I have only seen pediatric blood pressure cuff once during my pediatric long case exam in medical school After the exam it was as locked up During my housemanship in a federal medical center we never used a pediatric cuff to check infants I graduated in 2010 and have been practicing since then Will continue the story Let me attend to my son |

Mcslize:And I still insist, we should not make it look like those Nigerians that stayed back in Nigeria are fools......because in the real sense, they are the heroes. It takes a courageous heart to remain in a place that needs fixing or to stay with someone in his or her time of trouble.....the faint hearted run away at the slightest fear. Leaving Nigeria for abroad does not make anyone doing it a better person.....its just a decision. No matter how bad we paint Nigeria or how bad Nigeria becomes, some people, in fact a lot of people must stay back. If 30% of Nigerians make attempt to leave Nigeria to other countries, many countries will start repatriating Nigerians in their countries back to Nigeria irrespective of your residential status.....citizenship can be revoked so long as its not by birth and by indigenous parents |

Mcslize:I understand what u are saying but every country has their own challenges. In america too u can be shot dead by police just for being black and nothing will happen. At least in nigeria u can #EndSars or even petition national assembly, but when u are abroad u have no voice, u can't complain or do anything. You won't understand till u experience what I am saying. No country is perfect. They all have their problems. |

As we got to the hospital My son was taken to the pediatric emergency unit A Ct brain was done immediately due to my history of head trauma The result came out immediately and it was normal Throughout my practice when I order for ct brain The patient will go to another facility and the result will come out 48 to 72 hrs not immediately Meanwhile the ct room was next door to the pediatric emergency unit X-ray was done, drug screening, abdominal scan every thing was done at the emergency unit , ECG, cardiac ultrasound etc Nothing was found and my son was still lethargic and not responding Because his blood sugar was low, he has not eaten The gave him dextrose while till trying to find out while he was not responding The pediatrician thought of intussuception but abdominal uss eliminated it So they asked me to list the medications we had at home I did and they called the poison center and was told it’s likely clonidine an antihypertensive my husband uses that maybe he picked it and swallowed it They told me the will give the reversal medication to see what happens The did and my son woke up but usually short acting so the now decided to give him the infusion because they gave him a bolus They doctors were so nice and knew I was worried gave me food , drink , water and told me he will be alright They told me what they were doing at any given stage We were later transferred to pediatric icu for monitoring when he became better I didn’t go with any diaper because I was in a hurry They gave me a bag of diaper , wipes, because he was on nil per oral he wasn’t given any food But the nurses gave me food and water, bathing soap and towel The next day he started eating and they gave me a food menu I |

We stayed for 2 nights Upon discharge I was asked if I had transportation I said no The called a cab for me, paid for it Bought a new car sit for him because we didn’t go to the hospital with one ,used emergency vehicle Though it was a hospital visit It was a pleasant one I really thank God We normally do not check pediatric blood pressure in Nigeria Mostly temp, PR, weight etc My consultant in Nigeria told me to thank God it happened here because my options in Nigeria was limited Now am more careful because they told child protective services They called me and said they know it was an accident and can happen to anybody but I should be more careful and that it should not happen again |
