The estimated billing system is grossly unfair. Why is everything in this country such a pain? Pre paid is better, make it available. I can't pay for a service I didn't enjoy.

Just look at the comment section. Look at the inhuman conditions Nigerians are forced to live in. Just look at people even talking about bribing like it's not an illegal thing to do. Then somebody will be insulting you for leaving Nigeria.

CNN correspondent, Stephanie Busari, has expressed shock at the outrageous bill sent to her home by the Eko Electricity Distribution Company, Lagos, IgbereTV reports.

In a tweet she posted on her handle, Busari said she was hardly in her home in December 2020 and was shocked to receive a bill of N150, 000 from PHCN.

She wrote;

Nigerians took to her comment section to share their ugly experience with Nigerian electricity providers.

The federal government approved the distribution of prepaid meters years back which works like pay as you go but of course if that happens they won't be able to cash out so they only gave few people and sold some at outrageous prices like the one below me

I think she lives in a nice neighborhood so they billed her according to how her house looks lol

In the past you're are charged according to what you consumed but now they just sit down in their office and decided

For that much you can get 24/7 electricity in a two bedroom flat in the UK for up to 5 months and that's in a country with high cost and standard of living. Pure theft when you don't even get stable electricity.

That's what you get when your government is ripping you off..
Why would any responsibile government allow these Companies to get away with Estimated Billings?
How can you not provide electricity to your customers and at the end you bill them with crazy bills and your government doesn't do anything about it? sad
