Any difference between sports betting and FOREX TRADING?
FOREX: Predicting the price of one currency over another
SPORTS: Predicting the odds of a sporting event happening.

I normally don't do this but I think someone needs to hear this.

This is an advice to anyone that may be rethinking starting this shit, to pls flee away(japa) cos this shit is a f*"king devil's scheme to destroy you... I still regret placing my first bet. First it makes you win big, makes you think there's actually an easy-quick way of making money after all, gives you hope and joy and later takes it back after you start loosing, which is inevitable, you start placing much more money, all your savings and later loans which you may think you can win big again and pay back but you won't, getting you into all kinds of trouble, making you sell valuables just to pay back, gaining nothing at long last except sorrows, frustration and regrets. pls never start betting cos it's like nothing you've ever done before... and If you still bet or gamble in any form pls do your best to stop before it's too late.

Remember there's nothing like sure odds in betting and no matter how big you win you will slowly and inevitably loose each and every penny one way or the other.

God be with us.

Really not everyone who can read and write are educated.. it saddens me because they always appear articulated until they open their mouth and u realise in dismay and disdain that they empty vessels..

Whatever happened to gamble responsibly? Do you even know some people do extreme sports like skydiving? Mountain diving and climbing and high waves surfing just not for the fun but because it’s therapeutic for them and they have too much anxiety and adrenaline to shed off? So it’s gambling a whole lot of people play for fun not to acquire wealth like u ..

Stop posting rubbish here instead of u to seek deliverance or get a good job u are saying betting is a curse.. define curse please in not more than 109words..

Betting is a bad spirit when it enters you sorry is your case... I have made over 100,000 naira from betting and I lost it all plus an additional 25,000 on top with the hope that I will win and recover... But hell no it all ended in premium tears... The truth is that to make it from gambling you just have to set a target for urself... And abide by this rules
1. No game is hundred percent sure (analyse ur team selection first, don't just stake because ur spirit tells u this team will win)
2. Stake with what u can afford to lose
3. What am doing currently (I stake on only some certain teams I know and have analysed their previous games)

Big teams will always lose, that's for sure... But u just have to be wise

U gat it

Betting is for the rich.
There are groups of guys here in Ado Ekiti, u will need 100k to join their WhatsApp group and start betting on basket ball and tennis. These guys are winning big and spending heavily around Ado hotel like Yahoo boys. I have a ticket with 4million naira stake on inter vs Juventus and inter won the match. The Igbo guy turned his 4m to 9m. A guy in SE almost won accumulation of 1billion naira last yr . So if u are very rich. Betting can make u double your money if u are not greedy

your on point man, but try asking em where the millions of naira is at now

as far as after winning the millions you don't stop betting completely, it's going back

Great write up. You are very right, nothing is sure. Even a fixed match is not sure cos teams don't fix match by informing all the players. They just arrange it with one or two key players in the teams. Goalkeeper/defender/strikers. GK and defender can cause own-goal or allow silly goals. Strikers can always do an Ayeigbeni.

Second, many people don't have strategies. Some just stake with emotions or some kids prediction sites that they don't know who are behind them.

Third, greed is killing our people. They want to use 1k Naira to win 1million (1k odds). I am not blaming our people, it is poverty. Can 1k odds win? Yes, maybe once in 5 years of consistently playing. That's why most of the poor bettors' monies are given to the rich. A rich guy can stake 200k on just a small odd like 3.0 or 5.0 that has a higher chance of winning than staking on big odds that have almost zero probability of winning. A 3.0 or 5.0 odds is just 3 or 4 value bet games parlay(accumulator). A good analyst with badass sport analytical tools should be getting 3 or 4 games parlay right at least 30% of the time. Therefore, Bookmakers give most of the Iya Alata, Boda shoemaker, and struggling nairalanders monies to people living in Lekki.

Fourth, many people don't play for fun. Gambling shouldn't be an escape route from poverty. I've read stories of people who just drop one or two pounds on odds that are not reasonable and they won. In fact, I read a story of a man who won 250k pounds in the UK and he didn't even know for several months. He just dropped one pound on a silly odd and continued his normal life. Many people don't have such emotions. How do you test yourself to know if you are playing for fun? If you place a bet and glue your eyes to the screen for the result, you are not playing for fun. If you do your great analysis, place a bet and continue your day to day biz, it is likely you are playing for fun with the money you can afford to lose.

I pity many Nigerians because sports betting will only make our poverty worst. The likes of Akin Alabi, Soname, are smiling to the banks every day. The only winners here are the bookmakers and rich strategic players with a huge bankroll. If you have a betting site with just 50k people, you are already a Billionaire. That Akin Alabi of Nairabet is a multi-billionaire. I know him very well.

Finally, many bookmakers give bonuses to get people addicted. That's why those bonuses have long rollover conditions. They know the longer you stay, the more you get addicted. Only a few people have control over this. How can you test if you can emotionally handle gambling? If you are a very passionate, loving person, family-oriented, gentle, please don't try gambling or taste hard drugs. The so-called "bad guys" easily get out of bad habit than gentle and passionate ones. If you watch several stories of drug addicts, you will discover the good ones that family/people thought will shake the world when they grow up are always the ones that can't be recovered.

Gambling and money doubling schemes have been around for so long and will stay with us forever because every human being has a piece of greed in them. What we are greedy about is different. It's not money for some people.
Brother you made a lot of sense.

I’m not going to say betting is good bt it depends on how u choose to play it. Betting is not a job and neither a full time or major source of income.

U shud never bet with money u don’t have or can’t spare. The risks are always high. I think betting shud be majorly for fun than desperate to win cos that’s when u get hooked silly on it. U waste unnecessary money on a game bulit to function against the players unless ure very smart and in rare circumstances of luck.

I would advise people not to bet bt if u must then atleast keep to certain safety rules. The only thing terrible and highly stupid about it is ur built up lust for money that u can’t constructively work for bt rather throwing it all up to luck.

May the odds be in ur favor bt may ur sense and best judgement never depart from u. Lol

I think you are just someone that lacks self control which is something a lot of people suffer from when it comes to betting.
I can bet today and the next time I'll bet will be 2 months later. I have never in my life since i made my first bet woken up from sleep and started feeling the urge to go and bet.
I only bet when out of chance i come across some games that appeal to me.
So betting is only a curse when you lack self control and that goes for most addictive stuffs
