Good evening everyone,

I just got my admission letter from university of Alberta to study Communications and Technology.

I want to start my application process. My boss wants to pay for my first year tuition while I and my husband handle the rest. My question is..... What document apart from CAC and a reference letter stating that he is funding my first year tuition, does he need to provide?

Please help.

I congratulate those who got their PPRs before the medical requests, but that is an exception to the norm and not how IRCC actually operates. There are lots of reasons why that could have happened, and one of them is that the VO in charge of those applications made a mistake. Whether we ascribe that mistake to supernatural causes is a personal thing, but just as VOs make mistakes in rejecting qualified applicants, so too do they make mistakes in matters of procedure.

Everyone wishes for such exceptions, but let's treat them as exceptions so that we don't set a new rule of expectation. Typically, VOs assess eligibility, and once an applicant is determined eligible, they move on to admissibility. Even though many applications fail at the point of eligibility, admissibility is a serious issue too. Applicants with criminal records, falsified documents, incorrect or misrepresented facts about self and application in general, bad immigration records, serious health complications, or who pose threats to public health are deemed inadmissible, even when they have successfully passed eligibility. A PPR that comes before the MER can become useless if the recipient is deemed inadmissible at any point. (I'm sorry if this sounds negative but the good thing is that Nigerians seldom fail admissibility)

Personally, I wouldn't want to get a PPR before MER because that can be quite a tricky position to be in. It's better than nothing, but it's very open-ended. I was among the AIP people, and I can't totally explain how it felt to wait for admissibility conditions to be passed when you already passed eligibility.

If you're religious, your prayer should be for your application to be finalized as quickly as possible and with recourse to all due processes. If you're not religious, just hope that VOs don't use your application to experiment with "new procedures". Those who sailed through the AIP trauma can easily be found in the previous thread. You really don't want to be in that zone.

Good luck to all TRV hopefuls.

Hi,

I studied Law and also had my Law School in Nigeria. I have no idea about applying for a diploma program in Law.

As regards applying for a masters degree; Law has different fields like International Law, Business, IT, Commercial, Family (the list is quite long because there is a lot). So depending on the area that you have an interest in, you can go for that. On the other hand, if you’re still uncertain about what area to specialise in then, you can go for General LL.M.

For the universities, you can check these universities and review their Law programs: University of Ottawa, University of Manitoba, University of Victoria, McGill, University of Windsor. There are a lot of other schools in Canada offering Law programs; just find the one that suits you.

Hope this information is helpful.

I would advise you apply for your GCMS notes and wait for the notes to arrive before attempting a re-application. That should be the first step. Do not be in a rush to re-apply.

Also, you can take sometime to read from Part 16 of this thread to get some knowledge on how to tackle your application and you would be surprised at the wealth of knowledge you will be exposed to. This might give you some inisght on certain aspect of your application you need to improve on. When you read the previous threads to this preseent one, you can then ask your questions here on areas not clear and the gurus and elders in the house will guide you accordingly.

The GCMS notes is a document on file with IRCC that contains specific comments of the visa officer on the application of an applicant. So your GCMS notes will give an insight as you would be able to see the comment of the visa officer on the reason for the refusal.

Just search GCMS notes on Google and you will see options to choose from.

I wish you success.

Anyways ,I feel they already made their final decision but when they noticed we didn't do upfront medicals or they haven't sent medicals that's why they went ahead to send medical request the next day .Yeah because we have already received BVL ,PPR and even AIP that we can go ahead and start online classes .It's just the medicals that remain. Thanks for your thought and as you said this is the first time this is happening ,so it's fine

Sorry for the delay ordering GCMS note is the best and next option which you have opted for.
Please can you share your timeline? Did you make tuition payments or deposits?
What documents did you submit?
Are you a first applicant?
Purpose of Visit most times deals with the course you applied for as well as career progression which could also come from SOP.
