How do we survive in a country like this?
It's not as if we gain anything from the government, no dividends of democracy at all..
We struggle to make money yet pay bogus bills..

They don't treat their citizens abroad like we're treated here. If the government becomes so wicked the citizens will come up with ways to survive their wickedness. That's what is going on now. Stop comparing apples with mangoes.

Don't even go there. The public power is still cheaper by far. Only advantage of the Gen is that you control when you have power.

My friend keep quiet..... Tell me one thing that is progressive about this country. Aren't you seeing the hardship and frustration that citizen are enduring with no hope in sight? Is that how progressive nation became progressive? Will everyone die for naija to be progressive? How can a nigerian pay as much electricity tarrif as a Canadian while earning less than 5% of what a Canadian earns a month. Useless progressive.

There is no difference between you all and the supposed 'people in government' that you are criticizing. That is just the bitter truth. Nigerians want a better society but at the same time they break traffic laws, litter the environment, sort in school, bypass meter etc. Those 'in govt' did not drop from the sky - they are a reflection of the society, so as you are pointing the finger, remember the remaining 4 are pointing right back at you.

1) What was the cos of setting up ur solar in your house?

2) Does the solar works 24/7 all through?

3) Can it carry heavy volt appliances like iron, electric cooker, fridge and the likes?

4) What are some of the downsides you have encountered with the solar so far??

pls I will be really grateful if you could take your time and answer the questions above...

The way we are going, we will play into the hands of whoever controls the renewable energy sector because it is probably cheaper to go green with energy. That's over N50/kWh.

I'm currently paying approx. N53/kWh to PHED... Yet they take 30% of any amount I'm recharging to pay for the arrears own on the account by previous/existing tenants prior to distribution of prepaid meters to all tenants? I moved in and was recharging but not getting the actual value until I discovered that the meter was owing over 480k.
Looking for a new house like this cos my landlord is aloof on the matter and PHED says they can't help me. Instead, they're saying they might soon disconnect the line. I'm not Jesus Christ who is bearing the sins of the world.

I paid for my solar system in 2015, cost was a little above a million naira, installed first quarter of 2016, using it till date, no change except some minimal maintenance. Highest I recharged my meter was 5k which I almost used for 8 months as per no light and I relegate them to third source after solar and generator.
My people, before I got my meter, I was paying 14k monthly in 2017, with solar, I only recharge 1k per month and it's never exhausted. My people, choose your battle wisely. I no more threaten them with litigation. We are on parallel lane. They avoid me and I avoid them. Even waiting for my battery to die off so I upgrade my system.
Me alone, they will fold up.

N50,000 worth of token in June 2020 gave me 2183.7Kwh

Today, I went to the same place and bought the same N50,000 worth of token gave me 991.1Kwh.

Yet, the FG suspended the recent tariff and it will take effect this month end. Maybe N50,000 token will not give me more than 200Kwh.

that is the way to go, the transformer in my area packed up since 4 months ago, i got solar for my facility in december last year and its really serving me well, at least i have light anytime i need it, even if they restore the transformer, with this increase i don't think am interested in reconnecting anymore ,even with the prepaid i use.

conclusion, WE THE 97% will pay less than you the 5%,
