Hi All,

I just received a biometric validity letter but no update on my application as yet. This is my second application after initial rejection in September last year. What does this mean? I did biometrics in August for my first application and did not need one for this application.

Elligibility and Background check still showing as ongoing..

Thinking of requesting my gcms notes but do not know if it's a good idea. Applied September, Biometric done Oct 28. Eligibility started Dec 8. NSE request Nov. But application is on hold as at 1 week ago pending when they receive NSE. 2 days ago, They told me application is under active review. Please what should I do?

Submitted end of Nov. Did not get an NSE request but submitted both IELTs, Medicals & MyBankStatement alongside the application.

I think you should it give more time before requesting for your note looking at the fact they they just received your additional document a week ago. That means your application became active less than a week ago. Probably give it few weeks and hopefully by then you should have a decision on your application and if not you can order for your note. Your gcms note might not have enough details if you order it now. By the way how did you know your application was on hold since your NSE deadline already passed? Did they send you a mail stating that or how?

IRCC eehhhhh they just be playing with my Emotions with ghost updates I can see people getting BVL oooo na ghost updates dem dey take say hello nah me get ghost update while other people get BVL las las I know say both me and IRCC will be on the same page soonest.Its well!!!!..We go dey alright!!!.

Congratulations on the receipt of Admission at University of Alberta. Please don't use your employer as your sponsor, this will reduce your chances of getting approval. There are several concerns from the visa officer that follows using a third party (employer) as a sponsor to an international student. Those questions include:

1. Why is your employer sponsoring you?
2. What have you done for the company and now wants to sponsor your studies abroad instead of Nigeria (a cheaper option).
3. How many years have you been working for this employer?
4. What does the company stands to gain as a result of this sponsorship?
5. Is there any legal agreement/bond between you and your employer that confirm your return to them after the completion of your studies in Canada?
6. Why are you an outstanding candidate amidst other employees in the company?
7. Are the board of directors aware of your employer's intent to finance your studies abroad?
8. Is there any board resolution letter to back up your employer's claim?


Now, you can see the gravity of questions that needs to be adequately answered by your employer if he intends sponsoring your education in Canada. In light of this, you're better off using him as your Uncle while he pays your first year tuition and transfer funds into your personal dorm account to show financial accessibility.

I am not sure about your first question. I got mine about 3 weeks after applying via the normal route.

Secondly, I also used my mutual fund but I used it as investment and back up money. Called their customer representative and was told they don't issue MBS certificate. What I did was to request for an official(stamped) bank statement from them and also a reference letter. I read from someone's post here that she also included a redemption form to show that she can easily redeem the money when needed. You might want to try that too. But call their customer rep first to ask if they can do the MBS now and ask them what are your options then you decide on what to do.

Please note that I also submitted my sponsors bank statement along with MBS for my salary account.

If I was sent the NSE request and I don’t want to provide my bank statement and ietl exam would the normal route process still continue or do I have to write a webform giving the reasons why I can’t do the NSE route ?
