I thought one can apply for a course either based on past studies or current work experience? I honestly didn't think it would pose a problem.

I dunno how to pitch in the loving microbiology part or how he is still utilising the BSc in microbiology. Or are people not allowed to change careers? Pardon my too many questions.

In Nigeria you have microbiologists/geologists/lawyers etc working even in banks.

In his SOP he clearly stated why and how he needs more professional training in business to be able to run the hospital better. And wanted a short course (1yr) so he could go back and assume the new position of director of operations (job offer letter was included too as well as study leave approval from the company)

He applied alone. I'm a doctor and I'm staying back as his spouse with my son. And we already added my payslips to show I can fend for my son and I while he's away. I work in a federal hospital.

unforsaken:
I have read your further information and how the study permit application was presented. Here are some thoughts:

Business Management is a good skill that Investors, Entrepreneurs or Managers need to improve their business. So, putting this into your Spouse’s situation, my opinion is that since the business is Hospital (Medical Services), his current work activities will be nice to show the continuous utilisation of his education as a Microbiologist, while he is also taking up administrative roles. In a Hospital organogram for instance the Chief Medical Director is usually expected to be a Doctor and he or she also takes up administrative functions. There is nothing wrong if the CMD pursues business management professional knowledge.

What I am suggesting is that you may reapply, whilst being consistent with your previous profile, however, make your Spouse present himself as a Microbiologist, who is still in love with his microbiology but requires business management skills to support and improve the family business. The business management education will provide management skills which did not form part of his first degree or education.

Also, I do not know if he is being accompanied by you, in any case it is important you also add your work and finance related documents to show that his family will be fine whilst he is studying.

I do hope this clarifies further, my best wishes.

Doesn't qualify for a master's. That's why he is choosing to do a post graduate certificate program.

Then he tried to get admission for a graduate certificate in healthcare administration as well and that didn't work out. But maybe we can try again.

Thanks a lot

Time2soar1:

Why does he not consider master or graduate certificate in health care administration, that might align more with his qualification and work experience

Does anyone know how to book an appointment for medicals at IOM and what the cost might be. None of the numbers on their website is working and there’s no way you can book on their website unlike Qlife.

It depends on the agent that'll check you in. Ideally, many would ignore, but some may ask for "roger".

Good evening all. Please with a budget of 3.5m -4m, can I study in Canada? Masters in Canada. Specifically humanities. The money quoted above is the overall budget for everything till I land there. Please respond. Thank you

Except you get a scholarship or a sponsor, what you have is insufficient. Studying in Canada is expensive, and it is almost impossible to get work that will pay for both your tuition and living expenses as a student in Canada.

Hello everyone.
Please I need your assistance concerning my study permit.
It was disapproved, the reasons are contained in the file I've uploaded.
Any help on how to go about it?
I'd be very glad if assisted.
Thank you

So sorry about the 2nd refusal.

I think you need an immigration lawyer for this.
It should be done within 60days of receiving your refusal if you applied from outside canada and 15 days if you are inside Canada.
Lawyers charge anywhere from 3500-5000 dollars for this Service.

Has two steps... applying for leave then if that is approved, apply for judicial review

Before you choose Judicial Review make sure your original application has a strong case for approval....

So apply for your GCMS notes and ensure the visa officer refused you in error or did not review all the documents you sent appropriately

This is the much I know. Any persons with more info can help out.

IRCC link below might be helpful too

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/refugees/claim-protection-inside-canada/after-apply-next-steps/refusal-options/federal-court-review.html

Many thanks for this. Will keep this in mind if I reach the conclusion that JR is the best course of action.

Hey what's your profile like and have you ordered your notes?

Please i want to ask a question that seems stupid. Kindly please oblige me.

Does requesting for GCMS notes affect one’s application negatively in any way if the decision has not been communicated?

I mentioned to someone that I wanted to apply to know the state of my application and the person discouraged me from doing that.

Kindly help clarify please. Thank you.

Thank you.

Actually, it is not a stupid question, you have asked a very good question which is a valid concern. The answer is NO. Ordering GCMS notes has no negative effect on your application.

I had the same concern when my application was still running and based on my research the department that works on processing appications are diffierent from the ones that deliver these GCMS notes. They are two different teams.

It would end in praise.

Canada visa approval/ rejection takes two stages.
A case officer does initial review before final decision by senior officer( VO)
awys:

There was one notes too I saw somewhere too they already created the notes for refusal the same day the Application was submitted cuz from the notes it was showing pending biometrics but the person's Application was still running that they are reviewing the eligibility until the person had done the medicals and biometrics infact they already updated the medicals to pass after that they now sent the refusal what baffles me they had already refused the person why not inform the applicant immediately but rather wait until they do biometrics and medicals while the applicant's will be hopeful that his or her application is running smoothly but they had refused it on the GCMS notes the very day the person submitted that's one of the lapses that I don't like inform the applicant immediately the decision was made and don't keep them waiting that's why it's ideal one orders the notes once it's taking longer than necessary at times it's might be running smoothly but at times they might have refused it a long time ago but didn't update it on the Portal!!!

Hi guys..I've got an admission letter to study 'Big data analytics' from Lambton college... I'm asked to pay 8, 790dollars to confirm the admission...my concerns are
1. I have read abt people who got admission into Lambton college on this forum, but I have not read abt anyone getting student visa... If u are in Lambton or u know someone in Lambton pls comment..
2. Before I make d payment, I want to know if its worth it.its a two year course and it's co-op...the college is in ontario...what are my chances of I apply for student visa

3. What are they trying to say in the underlined statement...Do not submit to CIC for study permit?

4. I studied mathematics BSC 2:2 ...I will appreciate it if you can recommend a college or university where I can apply for graduate certificate or graduate diploma , data related course or mathematics related course for fall September...

Thanks

For the words in bold, they’re saying that when submitting documents to CIC for student visa application, DO NOT include that document as part of the documents for submission.

Yes thats the letter and also please see highligted on yellow below what you are to take along with you to VFS but for clarity, i have listed them below:

1. A copy of your Biometric Collection Lettter ( The letter IRCC sent to you to go for biometrics).

2. A copy of your VFS appointment confirmation letter.

3. Your International Passport.

4. Your Biro ( very important, you would need it)

N.B: You would meet some touts there telling you to snap passport or make photocopies etc PLEASE IGNORE THEM, YOU ARE GOOD TO GO WITH THESE DOCUMENTS.

Finally, when you complete your biometrics, you will be given a long slim biometrics slip, please keep this very well, you would need it when the IRCC request for your passport when your application is approved.

All the best.

Please guys I am starting to freak out here. Since December 8 that they requested for my NSE and mybank statement which I didn’t submit, and they were supposed to continue with the normal application route since Jan 8, up till now, no response at all, the status on my application is still showing your action is required. What is going on?

I don’t know what to do o. I submitted and completed my application since November 8, and I am already seeing from this platform that people we applied at the same date or so have gotten some form of responses from CIC already. What is going on naaa

So sorry about your Refusal Sharon,

Why you await response from the guru/gurus

Purpose of Visit means the visa officer is not convinced that you will leave Canada after your degree program, there are lots of reasons to this, one of them is wrong career/academic progression.

@ Lekiboboe: Thanks so much for the prompt response. I totally agree with you on getting GCMS notes which I will order for immediately.

I actually think it is more of Career Progression because the VO stated that based on level of qualification, establishment and so am not sure you will leave Canada and what I applied for initially was Ordinary Diploma even though I am graduate of Mechanical Eng.

It will end in praise.

You are welcome, Amen!

Additionally,

You can also google and research this program below and see if it resonates with ur Mechanical Engineering background, most especially its curriculum (course outlines)

PG. Cert in Quality Engineering Management
Lambton College, Ontario

I don’t believe it’s a must that you use the NSE route. If you can’t meet up with their demands why not just ask for regular processing? I’ve read about many people that went through this NSE stress and still got refused. I don’t think it’s something worth stressing over as it is optional anyways
