OGS was the right man to stabilize this gigantic ship and he has done a good job as regards that. He has assembled a squad that we believe have what it takes to compete at the highest level with the European Elites and that might have been his best part of the job so far but he doesn't have what it takes to take us to that next level.


Imo I believe the board didn't necessarily hire him to win those big titles but to stabilize the club, clear out deadwood, do a cultural reboot, map out a clear vision for the future and lay the ground work for whoever will take over from him.

Like someone pointed out yesterday that he can't see OGS going toe to toe over 38 matches with the likes of Pep and Klopp and coming out with the highest point total at the end of the season and I agree because those guys are levels above him both in experience and tactical nous.

Unless he proves us wrong which I'm all for it, the board shouldn't be renewing his contract.

I can agree that we've got a better GK department but they better us in other positions. Pep has enough options to call on for a string of matches - not just one game. Look at this:

RB (Kyle Walker/ Cancelo) a CB pairing from 6 players(Stones, Dias, Laporte, Ake, Fernandinho and Garcia) RB - Zinchenko & Mendy

3 midfield players from 6 options (Rodri, Fernandinho, B. Silva, Gundogan, Foden, and KDB)

3 attackers from 6 options(Sterling, Jesus, Aguero, F. Torres, Mahrez and B. Silva).

Ole can call on

RB (AWB & Brandon Williams) CBs (Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly, and Tuanzebe) LB (Shaw and Telles)

Midfield (Fred, McTomminay, Matic and Pogba and VDB)

AM/SS (Bruno/VDB)

Attackers (Rashford, Greenwood, James, Martial and Cavani)

Pep has can mix it anyhow from those options he's got. His backups have enough quality and experience than Ole's.

Because Mata's legs are gone, and he is far inferior to B. Silva. Remember the second goal we conceded in the UCL at FC Bsdfkaslfkshow's home? How Mata was easily bullied and dispossessed? Tell me if B. Silva would be mauled off the ball like that. VDB is a neat footballer and will fit in better with Pep's team than Foden will fit into United's. And please, Fernandinho can still deliver a good job in CDM than Matic can. A younger Fernandinho can even do the job of McFred.

City has better options (especially backup) at RB, enough CBs and I think we're doing better at LB than they are.

At CDM they've got Rodri and Fernandinho. who will deliver a better job than Matic/Fred/McTominay.

Attacking midfield they've got Gundogan, sometimes B. Silva, Foden and KDB. We've got Pogba, Bruno and VDB. Pogba and Bruno are very quality midfielders. They can pass, shoot and assist. But Pogba is a little bit withdrawn due to our formation (midfield duo) and VDB like I said earlier suits their style of play better than ours. On the other side, KDB has as much quality as Bruno and Gundogan, and Foden can still deliver a good job at AM than VDB.

At RWF they've got Mahrez with B. Silva as backup. We have nobody, with Greenwood as backup. LWF they've got Sterling and Torress etc as backup. We have Rashfool with James and MaritalCurse as backup. At CF we have Cavani with MaritalCurse and Greenwood as backup. City has Aguero and Jesus for that position.

And they've got a better manager than we do as well.

So when I said we're punching above our weight, I know what I mean.

Ole's most important position is the AM/SS. He only has Bruno to call on. VDB has played that position a couple of times and has been woeful there.

Pep's most important position is the CDM and AM positions. He has Rodri (Fernandinho as backup) and then KDB, Gundogan, Foden and B. Silva to call on. Tell me how he cannot easily reshuffle for a hectic fixture schedule?
