Because your naira is already twice dead.
Why not they rather encourage local content usage and enforce it?
Why can't they ensure we move from a consuming state to a manufacturing state and see if this USD will not fall like a pack of cart?

Why are they looking for the living in the land of the dead?

I cry in Swahili, honestly

It was high time the government ban crypto exchanges. It is one of the things killing our useless naira. People would rather store their funds in bitcoin and co. than to store it in naira.

Exactly. Crypto is a threat to CBN, forex, stocks, bonds and other traditional financial institutions.
Criminals like drug barons also use crypto for money laundry.
If crypto overshadows traditional financial institutions, CBN will not able to make effective monetary and financial regulatory policy.
Also, wef with other world financial organisations is planning for great reset of currency. I do not know the detail.
Did it affect their currency? is only here in Nigeria. Crypto can only be a threat to Nigeria currency when it doesn't pass through local banks. Let them think better way to increase the value for Naira, not finding solution where it can only get worst.

There's nothing like going back to the Stone age.

Every government wants to control all the financial activities happening its jurisdiction.

The government, through the CBN, is flushing out cryptocurrencies because it is decentralized, so there's no room for third-party interference.

Besides, much of the illegal transactions on the dark web are paid for using cryptos because crypto-asset transactions are untraceable.

False very few crypto are untraceable

Before you come at someone, try to understand why I was furious with the guy! He is a sycophant of the government going by his antecedents here and he stated it in such a way as though he was saying “it serves them right”. Or are you one of the buharist sycophants too?

Crypto currency is an easy way to cash out by criminals esp yahoo boys n needs to be regulated
I'm a web developer and, due to the useless policies of the CBN, it's now very difficult to receive funds from my foreign clientele. Recently, I've been using crypto as a fall-back and with this new useless policy I'll be affected. This is the same for plenty other people. I have friends who pay for goods with bitcoin because it's faster and the charges are negligible.
This useless government enacts policies to frustrate the masses, including U and I

So because criminals do cryptos so you shut down all accounts that receive crypto’s. If that’s the case then what has the government done in addressing unemployment?i don’t support illegal business but it’s wrong to block the whole thing entirely

I'm not supporting the evil govt. I'm just stating the reasons behind the move.

Stop blaming government.
The order came from foreign entities bent on enslaving Africa

Nigeria's huge crypto market spooked them.
The last thing they want is empowered black Africans.

And criminals do transactions in Naira and USD cash.
That's not a valid argument.

This our government is useless and brainless. Cryptocurrency is my main chance of making money this year. God will punish whoever brought this to bear. See the screen shot attached. The India government is looking at adopting the tech behind cryto- blockchain, ethereum and hedera hashgragh.
