Canada is way too strict!

I will just go with the close family friend then.
One more question please, will a one year MBA/MSC affect my chances of getting Visa?

What are the chances of getting a positive study visa extension when I switch to a health related course(BSc) on getting to Canada?

I appreciate all your responses.
The family friend you will be using try to explain the relationship very very well and be convincing enough most times sponsor is advisable to be relatives like parents ,brothers sisters even the two aforementioned is shaky somehow although some people used them it worked for them so it depends on the situation in a situation whereby you are a very matured student they expect you to be self sponsored and maybe acquire some assets to serve as home tie even if you don't acquire assets but be self sponsored and have a job to serve as home tie so you see all those sponsorship asides parent sponsorship they tend to scrutinize it well cuz they know they also have their own personal commitments and families they fend for and they can disappoint at any time but one's parent they know the relationship is strong and eventually would not disappoint that's just my own analysis am not saying it won't work out it worked for others depending on the applicant, the age and other factors some people even used uncle's so it also boils down to the VO analysing the Application.
So we should just pray for grace and favor in all of these!!!.

The 2000 CAD is an estimated amount that would likely be spent by each traveller on hotel bills. It will be reviewed in April. Review does not necessarily mean it will end. Based on the outcome and results obtained, the Canadian Government will then decide to take out some procedures, or add some procedures, or to maintain the existing procedures.

PS: List of accredited hotels will be out by Feb. 18, 2021 and the whole procedure will start on Feb. 22, 2021.

I want to apply for Sept 2021 intake and need these two clarification.

1) I have shares in two company, one is a bank and the other is defunct japaul maritime of which both have changed name owing to acquisition of the bank, to change of name of japaul to a more broader company name, now can I use this as home ties or is not relevant to the application?

2) I have a pension account with roughly CAD$6,000. Can it be used as POF or home ties or not relevant in the application?

Please your input will be highly appreciated. Dont want to make mistake In my application filling.

Thanks.

Other gurus can help as well.

If you test negative and have spent 3 days in a hotel, you move to your residence and continue the 14-day quarantine.

You're not testing throughout the whole 14 days. There are 3 tests to be taken in the whole procedure. First, you have to undergo a test 72 hours before your flight to Canada (it must be negative).

Second, you'd undergo another test at your Port of Entry (results may take 3 days to be ready), hence, you have to lodge at a designated hotel for those 3 days. If you test negative, you can proceed to your destination to complete the 14 days quarantine. If you test positive, you'd be transferred to a government isolation facility.

Lastly, whether you test positive or negative you'd be provided with a test kit with which you'd conduct a 3rd test on the 10th day of quarantine.

NB: (1) You have to give daily report of your health (whether you have symptoms of Covid-19 or not) via Arrive Can App or call the designated number.
(2) The prior 3 days spent in the hotel is part of the 14 days quarantine.

I hope this helps.

Nawooo

First it was compulsory COVID-19 negative test (February), which is very understandable,

Now it's back to back COVID-19 tests with a chunk of money involved to be in an hotel for 3-days

Hopefully by the end of April 2021, a non-harsh rule/restrictions would be in place, cos that $2000 CAD is quite outrageous & it will affect POF of international students.

Let me assume the Canadian govt. just want to use this to limit travellers from entering the country by imposing such rules

It was actually put in place to
(1) Discourage non-essential travels and unnecessary vacation travels to the carribeans and Mexico during this period. Most Canadians tend to take vacations during this period, in order escape the extreme cold weather in Canada at this time.

(2) To control the spread of Covid-19 variants from Brazil, UK, and South Africa.

Moreover, a Nigerian man died of Covid-19 in Ontario hours after landing in Canada. Report shows that he did Covid-19 test but did not wait to get the result before he travelled. This must have added fuel to fire.
