I don't think he is just saying people should quit ehailing. He is actually advising they look beyond ehailing. I hope you know there's a difference between the two. That is, while you're driving on ehaling, plan your exit.

And I don't know where people get this from. That someone driving on ehailing must be earning less than N250k every month from salary grin

Yes. I make more than that from my salary. See below for November, December. Nairaland will not allow me upload more than 4. Would have posted January as well.

Bro I get you and I also get angryibodon's point of view as well. But it is important to note that life happen in phases.

The names he mentioned in his post, the likes of GAZZUZZ, radautoworks and co did they just wake up one morning and found themselves where they are today? No! GAZZUZZ at some point was even into the hustle like I learnt, currently he's into mechanical, car dealership, logistics and some more. By the time he has an oil well tomorrow now you all would have forgotten the years of his hustle beginnings. What has happened, he metamorphocied from one stage to another. Same with radautoworks, same with who Otedola. Dangote.

Oh! Do I need to remind you that Dangote was a taxi driver b4? Or Ms. Alakija a fashion designer before somebody introduced Marian Babangida to her where she started making dress for, and tje Oil block that made her blow today was just out of eardrop from conversation with the 1st lady at that time in her house when she went to deliver a dress to her.

So let's stop all this talk of trying to help ourselves by all means possible. Man proposes God disposses. One thing is don't be lazy, don't keep quiet( even the bible says, a close mouth is a close destiny), don't sit inside and expect help to come knock at your door. Go out, be the best you can be from your efforts then be diligent and discipline and faithful with all honesty and truthfulness. A day will come all the hustle you've done for 40yrs, 20, 30,60yrs it may just take 1yr to reap the rewards.

That's why me ooh irrespective of what ever anybody says I remain my honest truthful self with dedication discipline i know my time will come.

There are people you can't please at all... No matter how faithful you serve or work for them, its just their nature if you like serve them 7months, 7yrs they'll still tell people you stole from them but a man will come that it's inly greeting you'll say to him and he will change your life.

See the former governor of A'Ibom State in the person of his Excellency Ex Gov Akpabio. That guy was on the street of apapa when he was called to come to Akwa Ibom the next day and he was made a commisionner. Just like that, no pre work no nothing... Thats story for another day abeg.

How dare you bite the finger that fed you! Show gratitude. If ehailing were to be human how do you think it will feel regarding your remark. I think a lot of us just needs to be grateful for the opportunity life has offered us to put bread on the table without begging.

In life you have to remain steadfast, disciplined and focused if you have to get anything out of it. Its never going to be easy and if anyone tells you otherwise then its all lies.

If you get a good paying job today would you say your primary education got you the job? But that primary education was part of the process that got you to where you are, though fundamental but vital likewise ehailing. Ehailing should be seen as a fundamental aspect as we journey through.

Take out of ehailing what ehailing is willing to offer. Ehailing is not a one shop for everything. But at the same time can be everything depending on how you look at it.

During one of my ride requests I met this young girl, quite bright and intelligent. We connected and when I dropped her at her place she offered me to come into her house: its a 2 or 3 story building; each floor is a bed room except for the ground floor which serves as the sitting room. She pays 1.2m p.a. Won't go into her life details because I asked her why pay this much when you can actually build your own? She said she's already doing that!

The reason for this story is because this girl suggested to me a brilliant business idea I could venture into considering where I worked which was something I never thought about. So understanding your terrain and the little opportunities it offers is key to your survival. Being successful in life is knowing how to pick up data from your surrounding and converting that data into meaningful information that you can then use.

I guess what I am trying to say is: ehailing is a fat cow, how you milk her determines what you'll get out of her. Don't complain embrace it.
.

Am back from Ogombo trip. I be wan one borrow one wicked meme from Oga Dru, I come see say even Baba dey support u. I would sheath my sword and leave to fight some other day.

I had success in my ehailing career compared to my friends who are also into the business before me. Sometimes they are envious of my financial status. I ve had some of them ask me how I managed to save. I remember few years back when man was jobless, even to eat 3 proper square meal nah struggle. Then I was ready to take up any survival job available to keep body and soul together. This is what drove me into ehailing. According to Maslow's hierarchy of needs food, shelter, clothing are the first level of a man's need. I have attained and surpass these level of needs and this is what ehailing is designed to make you have. Pay bills, eat 3 proper square meal, buy clothes etc. Life is more than that my brother, I know what i want and ready to rule my destiny and make things happen. For me to say Taxi work no be better job, I know what saw before supporting Angryigbodon on this. I think the reason for all these is because I am beginning to overgrow the hustle, let me just put it that way. And this chart explains more

Guy even king Solomon the wisest and richest king on earth at a time sat down and after looking at all he had achieved and done he caused it and called life "vanity" meaning no big deal in life. It will get to a stage in your life that you'll look around with huge success and achievement and then you would wonder at those worshiping you sayimg in your mind "this people no know say nothing dey all these things".

What you just did now by calling ehailing rubbish is like insulting/cursing the breast you once suck from. No matter what should anybody do that. It therefore means that you've totally forgotten those days you were so desperate to earn even 2h. He that is faithful in little will be faithful in much. Same way you would say if you become a billionaire from any other job and got tired of it.

She never pay ooh... Me naturally don't know how to draw debt I swear but the thing just dey pain me. I wish I could have her FB page but it seems she's not of Facebook at all... But I've got somebody who knows her she has a makeup shop right here in Abule Egba.

....Had to take time to read the cause of the outburst and my inputs are simple..

...Alot of people are making a mistake condemning Uber/bolt job cause I feel they've been at it for quite a long time..If only we all could take time to reminisce our conditions before embarking on the journey...You won't call it a useless hustle.

...Till this day, I still see Uber and bolt as my breaking point cus without it, I won't be having anything to do with my new job and how to cope with it.. Originally I'm a very shy person..So even talking to people or staring at people about houses would've been difficult. The 1month internship ( grin that's what I call it) I had doing bolt, meeting different people every hour has helped me tremendously at my job...craze people full Lagos..no matter the job you do you'll meet them..and I was lucky I worked at the head quarter of meeting craze people before venturing into something else.

...Will I advice someone to quit Uber/Bolt? YES! ONLY after serious and critical thinking..As a young guy, it's a wise decision cus it's time consuming tho puts something on the table everyday. After my first rental, I didn't make any more rental for the next 3 weeks or so! Those 3weeks was hell! The car i was using was already taken if not I'd have happily gone back to bolt without thinking twice..if not for encouragement from few friends and support from someone I met still on this Uber thread....let's not even talk about sales grin that's if you're lucky you might get it once a month. But then, that 1million u get once or twice a month in just a day or two can not be matched doing Uber/Bolt for a year. On a crazy month I had 2 sales. Some People close sales deals EVERYDAY!

...All in all, everything should be a stepping stone, I ventured into being a realtor by mistake while doing uber..But honestly the passion was there! And I've come to realise 90% of the time, whatever you do passionately, would never leave you stranded with God by your side. GoodLuck to us all and may God continue to bless the good people of this thread.
bro how can we do biz ? I am actually sourcing for one of my oga now.. me sef don do this thing before but ino succeed grin

Me I understand your plight or point... Me am planing to bankroll money from uber to other business.. If you own your cars and have good drivers and all things been equal . the business is sweet transportation business is sweet in generally . but you have to pick which sector u want to go .......

My brother uber business has taught me a lot and I will want to use that experience to bankroll other things.. So my brother whatever experience u learn make sure u make the best of it .........me I have no issue with ur post at all, coz at the end of the day na only will carry your own cross.. Have paid my dues and nobody was there to hold my hands.. Have lost money made money and now am just trying my best to do better..nobody help me bro. The business world is nasty 1 , people have lost families marriages, friends, homes over business failure.........

When the wealthy do make they keep their ideas to themselves and wealthy people do not dash money away like.. So whether na uber or u want move on pass uber .. Prepare your mind ...nobody on nairaland will come to ur aid when u get into extremely tight corner... Wish u the best of luck.......

Ps .. My advice look for a service industry not a product industry.. Service industry provides service .. You provide a service and get paid easily compare to product industry.

Product industry is when u have products or manufacture goods to be sold .. Nigerians don't like to pay .. They will take ur goods on credit and will sell them before they pay.. This normally end in tears o....

So kindly pick your poison and wish u the best.....its a cold world out there bros.....

That is life boss, it is deep, but within we have to find some peace and satisfaction. The question is what is success? Can one be successful and not be happy? One of my boss used to b manager with Con Oil, in 2013 at the age of 52, he told me he's not happy, I looked at him with straight face and don't know what to say, he have land cruiser jump worth 9m, one bad E class and another small VW. He lived unbothered in sense that he has paid school fees for couple of people, have lands he can't remember the site and he's well connect (once stayed in 1004 wit Babangida Aliyu). So I asked him, why did he say he's not a happy man? He said many things and how he's trying to coach me not to settle for less, but his main pain is, he had been trying to do his own thing and he never get to complete it, now he's 52, where is in going to start from. I crack a faint smile like, oga! be grateful, truth is we complain why things are the way they are, life is going to do what life is meant to do, reality and nature will eventually smack everyone in the ass.

It is never too late to follow your dreams.. So at the age of 52yrs old boss is still young .. It is better late than never.. The guy that founded KFC was in his late 50's or early 60's when he started the business .. And now KFC is all over world ....so never too late......

I do encourage people to chase their goals or passion.. But the reality is if your goal or passion is not putting food on the table for you and ur family .. Than my brother you are deceiving yourself and digging .. You have to now choose food, shelter, security , money etc over passion or goals that can't bring u anything .. You choose your poision

My neighbour just told me how a bolt driver who took her has been disturbing her on WhatsApp for a relationship and she has been putting him off. Like how much does he think he has? If she gives him bill of 100k now, can he pay?

I was just wondering how any bolt driver will think he has any decent chance with most ladies we carry. The non oloshos.

I mean, these ladies are mostly the ones who think they are much better than you and look down on you. They sit at the owners corner barking orders like they own the vehicle cheesy

They are also the same ladies who will post your WhatsApp chat with them on twitter in the most condescending of manners using you to catch trend and cruise

Or maybe drivers actually have good success rate with some of them and I'm the one dulling myself grin
