Nice thread you have. Thanks for sharing these.

Might I ask, what about moving to the UK as as social worker, do you think there are opportunities for Nigerians in the profession as there are in medicine and nursing?

A lot (and I mean a lot) of Nigerians work in Social Work in England. They are constantly looking for people. Do you have a degree in Social work? Where is it from? I know that people with social work degrees from South Africa go straight into jobs

Is it advisable to get a put a British or Scottish lady in a family as a student for paper purposes?

Some of us planning to migrate to UK through student visa already know we may not get a job after graduation.

How easy is it to get a woman over there to fall deeply for a Nigerian?

So what's your advice on this?

Lol.

It all depends on your game. Lots of lonely women in UK. Flattery and charm will get you everywhere.

Getting a UK Masters in social work would heighten one's chances.

Most definitely. I'll confirm this but it appears that it might be your only option if you have your first degree from Nigeria.

Find some slightly fat oyinbo girl from the 'Shires. But you have to be willing to live/work outside the city. All you have to do is make her feel special and she'll give you all her money. Her parents will be happy she's not with a bum or freak. Make sure her parents aren't freakshow racists. If they're cool, they'll hook you up with a job and help in other ways.

If you want an African or Caribbean girl, the "easiest" way is by becoming a doctor. I suppose a PhD would work as well. But I don't know how common it is to just scoop a black Brit girl as a foreigner without papers unless you're rich, pretty, or you have h3lla game. It's not impossible though, but you will deal with more skepticism, competition, and compatibility issues.

Actually, if you are hot then you can actually catch a very hot babe from any race if your bed game is tight. If you're that way inclined, then I'll advice you to hit the gym before you come here. Eat lean meat and reduced carbs (complex). Get as built as you possibly can and it's the babes who'll be making moves at you irrespective of your accent etc.

Ok, this is one of the professions where everything depends on your luck. Someone might be willing to take a chance on you straightaway or you might end up applying endlessly, or might not be able to move forward until you get a UK qualification. I'd advice you to seek out the UK Society of Engineers or a similar body and see if there is any category of membership open to you. Obviously you'll have to make sure you have all the details of projects you've worked on in Nigeria, and it'll help if they are easily verifiable. You can start applying from Nigeria. Forget what anybody says, everything depends on your luck and how much self believe you have in yourself.

I'm just excited for this profession.

Yeah, I do have a degree in Social Work from the University of Calabar. I am yet to get called up for my mandatory service though.
I hope to consider practicing in the UK but registering as a Qualified social worker is expensive in England.

What's the job outlook for social workers in Scotland?

I'm not talking about intimacy. I'm talking about marriage and a green card.

But you'll have to get them hooked first and you don't want to end up with a fat ugly depressed 60 year old woman. Green card is a US thing.

I don't quite understand what you mean by expensive. Here is the registration body for social workers -

https://www.basw.co.uk/membership/membership-types

I've been told that you can apply for jobs in England with your Nigerian degree but you'll start at the bottom of the ladder at about £30k - £35k per annum as a permanent worker. England will be much easier than Scotland because there is way much demand in England and you might be interviewed by a Nigerian, other African or other black person.

They will also require an extensive check on you -

https://dbscheckonline.org.uk/faqs

For you this will involve an international check too.

Nonsense. Just because a woman wants to sleep with you doesn't mean she'll trust and marry you, and go through the immigration process for you. Don't be ridiculous.
