Power is returning to the South in 2023. Everybody knows that except those from the gully erosion ravaged region who are still atikulating because they hope that their Biafra ambassador to China will be VP. |

Southern presidency is possible!! But... Dear south west... Forget anything presidency!! Even if power is going to the south.... It will never be south west!! You people have been canceled!! Even if power is going to leave the north!! It will be going to the south south!! Just for the Records: Northerners in Oyo, Ogun etc were attacked, killed, properties destroyed and displaced in what was a planned ethnic attack. No single Yoruba Leader either political or monarch came out to openly condemn this barbaric act. we will never forget the killing of our innocent northern traders in the south west!! Even most educated yorubas both online and offline justified the barbaric act!! the NORTH remembers Tell Tinubu that there's still time to form a political party that will bring the whole south together against the north!! Atleast that will be a small challenge for the north... Than wasting his time and leter be kicked aside! The north will never support a Yoruba into the corridor of power!! Thank God that you people showed your hatred for the north on time.... I will even prefer an igbo man... My face to face enemy into power... Than a bloody back stabber!! |

Good... I will vigorously campaign for any of the following candidates: 1. Governor Dave Umahi.. (my favorite SE governor. He made my top 20 list of great Nigerians we should emulate..) 2. Goodluck Jonathan. 3. Amaechi. 4. Ogbonnaya Onu.. (patriotic, loyal and industrious) 5. Yul Edochie.. (My favorite Nollywood actor. He hates Buhari, that's my only problem with him. But eh, if I like you, I like you.. )For equity's sake, power should return to the South, particularly the South East... If not, then South South.. Basically, any good candidate from the SE or SS will have my support. The North and the SW should not contest AT ALL... However, If the SW wants to contest, then the North, especially the NE and the NC, will also contest.. To avoid this, the North and the South West should go and rest and let the SE and the SS have their fun... ![]() God bless Nigeria. |

It is not even negotiable to be honest. Power must return to the south in 2023 and it must remain there for 8 years. Any serious political party thinking of fielding another Fulani man in 2023 will simply be moving against the tide. |

That's absolutely non negotiable. Written or unwritten, after eight years of PMB, power must shift to the south. Anybody thinking in the contrary needs his brain examined |

35824L:yes power might return back to the south... But not west!! The north central is even closer to the power than the south west!! |

That's the best way to go.. Though not expecting Pdp to zone their presidency to Southern part but much are expected from Apc |

As I read the heading, bile filled my mouth! Animals can't dash me human rights...Fela Southernern leaders are dead tigers or even none at all Unless the north gifts, nobody is permitted to take! When will southern leaders push for strict electoral reforms that would give everyone equal opportunity and votes would count? |

35824L:For sure power must return to the South in 2023 otherwise the fallout from power remaining in the North will be too devastating for Nigeria and Northerners in particular. The main point I will add is that the North must not be involved in the emergence of this Southrner be it Yoruba, Igbo or SS. The North should support a level playing field and back off. The South must not accept a Southern stooge like Jonathan, Fayemi, Kalu, Umahi etal because once we do that then critical and badly needed reforms like State policing, restructuring and greater autonomy for States and tiers of governance will be automatically off the table for 8 years after 2023 and potentially 16 years assuming the North then gains power in 2031. In 2014 the SW supported Buhari, who had always wanted to lead, to gain power. Let the North do same for the South by at least refraining from trying to scheme out strong and indendent-minded Southerners. We don't want their stooge in the form of Fayemi, Jonathan or anyone else because we know what that is aimed at achieving which is keeping it "business as usual" for the north for another 8 years till they get power back. A lot of things about Nigeria must change for good once the North is away from the Presidency but these changes can only be delivered if it is a sagacious and independent-minded Southerner that replaces Buhari. It is not about power coming South alone but about ensuring it gets into the hands of the right type of Southerner. |

Oshigun:The north is playing a game and it is left for the south to analyze the situation and turn it to her own advantage. With unity, the south can beat the north in their own game. There is nothing wrong in Tinubu, Jonathan, Osinbajo, Amaechi, Umahi, Fayemi etc contesting for the ticket of APC. If Jonathan wins based on backing from northern hawks, I expect all other southern leaders to rally behind him and hijack him the same way northerners hijacked Buhari when he became president. Once he’s sworn in as president, he should build a United southern coalition to ditch whatever agreement he had with the north and handover to another southern president. The north cannot make any meaningful argument for the presidency in 2027 so he will be justified. That way, we can even have a southern president for 12 years. The north will only end up playing itself. |

Those SW hypocrites ranting that power MUST return to the South, ask them which part of the South, and they'll start speaking in tongues. Their meaning of "South" is "South West". Bunch of hypocrites! Power is coming to either the South East or the South South! South West and North are COMPLETELY OUT of the equation! I will never support injustice! Nigeria must better. Niceman12:My brother, I agree with you.. But South East guys are nice too, forget the nonsense we see online. Trust me, I never see tribe wey like Northerners like the Igbos. A lot of them are my friends here... Just that most of the ones who've never been to the North have been fed all manner of evil propaganda about Northerners. But we shouldn't blame them. We should rather prove our niceness to them through our actions. Igbos are everywhere doing business. Nobody do one Nigeria than them. They're tolerant. They're loyal and friendly. Na why I dey ignore these nairaland IPOB sympathizers wey dey attack Northerners. They don't represent Ndigbo. But e go better. |

Oshigun:There is no doubt that APC will retain power in 2023 but anyone with previous ties to PDP must not be allowed to get the office or it will rubbish the efforts of those who laboured to get them out of power in the first place including PMB himself. |

seunmsg:You must always look at a man's character and not give him any burden he cannot carry. Nothing in GEJ's history shows he has the balls, competence, political sagacity or vision to do what you ask of him. At this critical stage in our history, why must we choose an expensive gamble that can blow up in our faces when we have Southerners we know for sure will 'go there', against the conservative North, to reform Nigeria? |

35824L:Indeed. This idea was what was deployed during the 2014 Presidential campaign to morally disqualify many APC members who were decampees from the PDP. Same will play out in 2022 for sure. Only core APC Southerners will be considered so GEJ, Umahi and co are automatically out. You cannot come from the PDP to join APC one minute to midnight and be handed the Presidential ticket of the ruling Party. The Obaseki-type episode cannot happen in the APC. Waste of time discussing GEJ, Umahi and others like them as potential APC candidates. They are just desperate choices of a North very afraid of strong and independent-minded Southerners. |

Oshigun:Obasanjo was a weakling who pander to the north when he was a military head of state. They brought him in again 1999 thinking he will continue as a weak leader. Obasanjo saw through their game and put the north in her place. Jonathan is now more experienced. He can see through the gimmicks of the northern hawks. With southern support, he will grow the balls to do the needful. Buhari already set a bad precedent in nepotism and breaking gentleman’s agreement so he has something to rely on. Again, he personally won’t be contesting again so he could damn the north without any consequences. The above scenario is if the north goes to the extreme o. I’m not a Jonathan supporter and I prefer Osinbajo to emerge in 2023. However, all options must be on the table to ensure a southern president in 2023. |
| Re: 2023: Top Northern Politicians Pushing For Southern President by AbaLion: 9:36am On Feb 21, 2021 |
The north is only overrating themselves. It's only normal that whoever is in power tend to set the political direction due to absolute power. The north couldn't challenge OBJ, he singlehandedly chose his successor without the north daring him. GEJ would have been equally powerful if he had carried the SW along - his biggest mistake. It's only natural that the north clog around power when Buhari became the president. In 2 yrs, Power returns to south and the north takes a backseat. Everything na turn by turn. All this noise bores me abeg. -Lion |

Nna mehnnnnnnnnnn 2023 Presidency should go to the Igbos, they will reform the country and steer it to the right direction. The Igbo man equally has the guts to divide or restructure this country for the benefit of everyone. Support Igbo president for a better Nigeria. |

Topmaike007: Topmaike007:Chief Topmaike, We no too know about this APC revalidation tin o. We are not actually a card carrying member of any political party in Nigeria. The only 2 guys we love in Naija politics are our darling Daddy and his amiable Vice. Now, Zulum has joined the rank. We only go to the polls on election day to cast our votes for good, honest men that meant well for the nation, no matter the party they are. And you don't have to be a party member to do that.
