Good Morning,

Please don’t create WhatsApp group for Nairaland Canada Visa discussions . You can send each other private messages or connect together if you are going to the same region or school

If you take these discussions off Nairaland. How will other prospective applicants benefit what we have all enjoyed on this platform through shared experience of different people.

There will be no documentation and the impact of this platform will not be felt. I for one have benefited immensely from this group and I owe to other people to learn and get some value from this platform

It’s a plea and I want people to reconsider. If the previous applicants resorted to WhatsApp. Here will be dull and nobody will learn anything

Have a great week ahead

All the best

Thanks for the advice boss, my Reason for the pdg is I wanted a course that is more practical and hands on, the college I applied for offers that practicality ( I stated all of this in my SOP). Also when I started applying for schools, I applied at Trent university for an MSc in Data analysis and I wasn't successful so I had opt for this pdg program.

To be honest, it doesn’t really matter as long as you have a valid reason.
I graduated with a 2:1 as well, but opted for a PGC in a totally unrelated field and I was granted admission and also visa approval.
I also didn’t submit an SOP (it wasn’t intentional though) yet my visa was approved, even though I was venturing into a new field of study.
*just thought to put this out there*
As long as you have a valid reason/supporting documents, you should be alright.
All the best!!

It’s for your visa to be processed through NSE(Nigeria student express) within 20 days of the request.if you do not provide it they will process your application through the normal route.
If you have the required documents submit it,if you do not have you can work towards it before the deadline.
However the 20 days is really working Cs I haven’t seen anyone that got approved within that period but you can be lucky and be the first.
Just try to do your best.
I also got the request and submitted 24th December but nothing yet till now.

1. The most important issue from all raised by the VO is your relationship with your sponsor. If he/she is not your dad or mum, then there is already an issue. Saying someone else wanna sponsor you for 3 to 4 years in Canada is actually not easy, and the Visa Officer is not buying into that.
2. Yes, they made a mistake in your age, and that most likely influenced the visa officer to talk about your employment status. In your next application just state it clearly. State that you are 18yrs old, left secondary school so and so, and state also what you have been up to between when you left secondary school and when you are applying. Please state this sensibly and with proof. For example, if you are already an undergraduate student in Nigeria, you shouldn't add such information.
3. For Int'l travel, that don't really matter mehn. Many people get Visa approve even when they have not left their village before. I doubt if you would be denied for that some reason.
4. Please properly write your goals and aspirations. Convince the VO that studying in Canada is worthwhile for you.

If you can fix (1) and (2), just reapply and stay optimistic.
What if my tuition sponsor is a students loan organization, would that be okay?

To show commitment, ask him to pay your first year tuition and transfer your living allowance to a Canadian account that he will create for you. Or better still do this GIC 10k cad investment.

PPR just dropped.

First application was with my son. The VO was not convinced that I could take care of him.

Second application, I applied without my son and tackled the VOs concern......

I applied Dec 17, Sep 2020 intake.

Received NSE request on 23rd Dec.

Sent IELTS on 9th January, got a confirmation message on Feb 5, medicals passed on Feb 3 ( upfront medicals)

Started classes online...

More details to follow soon.

Bro thanks for putting this out here, I've been really confused as to whether to opt for a PGD as it's what I need but scared for denial. Thanks

Okay.
I didn’t spend time at all at the POE. After landing I took a long fast walk to the declaration machines, I scanned my passport there and filled the declaration form,my receipt was printed. Then I stood in line to wait for the next available officer. The officer I met just asked for my COVID test, declaration receipt and my passport, he then asked what I’m coming to Canada to do. I said I was a student. Finish. He allowed me in. Then I went to the study permit section( where my permit will be printed), the officer told me to put all my study documents on one side of the table, see checking. She was checking, asking me questions, she asked me like 3 questions, it took her 20mins to finish checking. Then she printed my study permit and attached it to the passport. Omo. I was so happy at that instant but I didn’t show it. So it is now compulsory to do COVID test at the airport, I spent like one hour there, registration+the test( make sure you have number and address of your university) . During that period, I found the cab man that my school sent to pick me up so at least my mind was settled, I won’t be out in the cold for too long. I did the COVID test then I went to drop my stuff in the car, I went to find something to eat at the airport.
Then I was ready for my 1 hour 15 minutes drive to my university quarantine residence
