Itesiwajunaija: You don't need to rest your case because you have not said anything sensible. Our forest reserves and plantations are there. Under this arrangement, these cannot be fully operational. We need true federalism to practice mechanized and technology driven farming. Early 2010, there was a crisis at mile 12 market, Lagos. The North refused to bring food products to Lagos. Later, out of frustration having waited for Fashola to appeal to them but no response and no patronage, they started to dump the products after long bridge before Kara, Ogun close to Lagos. Half of the products got spoilt and have to be sold at giveaway prices. They created market in that area. Later, Ogun State government came there and drove them to Ogere. They placed a big billboard there " This is not a market, the market is at Ogere". They have no choice, they have to return to Ogere. Farm produce enter Lagos from Neighboring countries through Seme border. The border closure led to wastage of farm produce at Benin Republic. https://afrikanheroes.com/2019/09/22/businesses-in-benin-republic-agonise-over-border-closure-with-nigeria/ Let me tell you something, we are helping the North by patronizing them. The Fulanis cannot lock our borders and stop selling farm produce, that is starvation. No Customs or Security agency from North can come closer to those borders or manage our ports under emergency situation. The land and the Sea would revolt. In as much as Yorubas will not go to Niger and Chad borders with the North to lock or monitor their borders, they can never try that here under emergency situations. I hope you understand. 4 Likes |

thebosstrevor1:story! fed govt owns oil but southerners can shut down oil production when provoked. How were those countries you mentioned surviving b4 now? Your brothers does not understand how trade works if not they should have known that they will saturate those markets with their goods thereby eventually selling below cost price. And those people may stay selling to southern Nigeria after buying very cheap from u It's not sustainable. 3 Likes |

These northerners forget that most of there farm produce can imported through Cotonou. They just want to create more billionaires in the south. If they continue with this charade, they'll become irrelevant in this one Nigeria nonsense and states in the south would have developed other means of survival. |

FFK never siezes to amass pesin. Is the South West the owner of the Oil and Oil Money? You people senselessly started killing common traders who have been selling you goods for maybe years now saying they are all thesame. Asking them to leave your region and markets. They have now gotten the memo and decided to boycott those areas their lives and goods are targeted, you're not still pleased? |

These Northerners are very cunning, I give it to them. If you observe carefully, you will notice that they're avoiding a confrontation with the entire South, rather they're taking the path of least resistance by trying to isolate the SW and facing them squarely. I will give you reasons to back up this assertion: 1. It's on record that more cows and fulani herdsmen settlements have been destroyed in the East than the West, yet you don't see them attacking Igbos but they keep barking at Yorubas like they're talking to their servants They keep issuing threats upon threats on them while maintaining a deafning silence on Igbos 2. They've now started implementing their threats by placing embargo on food supplies going to the SW while the Eastern corridor is unaffected I'm really confused if Igbos and Niger Delta minorities should stay neutral and allow the two of them fight to death or intervene I understand the implications on the entire South anyway and the fact that the North would probably crush the SW if we stay neutral. However, if tables are to be turned, the same SW would gladly stay neutral or even give moral support to North if it were to be a standoff between East and North. At the moment, it is North 2 vs SW 0. I'm still waiting to hear of any response from them aside online vitriols and verbal response 6 Likes |
