This is the best time for the middle belt to make their stance clear. I hope they steer clear of any northern gimmicks

Easternmind:

Oga,the oil,you are talking about flows from southern soil,if they decide to practice resource control, you'll have no oil flowing from south to north at a very high rate,ok if the oil is federal government owned then zamfara gold must be shared equally and be passed down to the southern states atleast for incentives for tolerance of the rampage and dishonesty of your spotless and pure fulani herdsmen, then that is called democracy.

seems like you are not aware of the oil discovered in maiduguri

FFK Always talking nonsense.

The south does not own oil, the federal government owns the oil unlike the food, hardworking Northern farmers are the owner under a cooperative system, the cooperative can decide to transport their produce somewhere else and it wont affect their pocket.

There are lot of buyers of farm produce from northern Cameroon, senegal, mali, niger and chad. The revenue they make from these markets alone is more than the revenue from the southern market in Nigeria

Thank you

My questions are very simple. Do north eat egwusi soup, ogbono soup, Adam soup, efo riro soup, vegetable soup, ashi soup, ofor soup, atama soup, fufu, Amala, pounded yam, akidi, fio fio, okro soup, water leaf soup, ewedu soup, banger soup, banger stew, starch, black soup
Oha soup, ukpo soup, okazi soup, bitterleaf soup, nsala soup, owerri soup, gbegiri soup, omi ewa, ewa agoyi, bole, etc. It's about time the south realize that they themselves are the major source of their food and not north.
Copied from twitter.
dont drag the East into this by mentioning food from the East. The reaction isnfor the north and south

Those guys are hungry because they can't afford food. Most immigrants from Niger Republic can easily drink one coko or milk for a whole day and nothing else.

You don't need to rest your case because you have not said anything sensible.

Our forest reserves and plantations are there. Under this arrangement, these cannot be fully operational. We need true federalism to practice mechanized and technology driven farming.

Early 2010, there was a crisis at mile 12 market, Lagos. The North refused to bring food products to Lagos. Later, out of frustration having waited for Fashola to appeal to them but no response and no patronage, they started to dump the products after long bridge before Kara, Ogun close to Lagos. Half of the products got spoilt and have to be sold at giveaway prices. They created market in that area. Later, Ogun State government came there and drove them to Ogere. They placed a big billboard there " This is not a market, the market is at Ogere". They have no choice, they have to return to Ogere.

Farm produce enter Lagos from Neighboring countries through Seme border. The border closure led to wastage of farm produce at Benin Republic.

https://afrikanheroes.com/2019/09/22/businesses-in-benin-republic-agonise-over-border-closure-with-nigeria/

Let me tell you something, we are helping the North by patronizing them. The Fulanis cannot lock our borders and stop selling farm produce, that is starvation. No Customs or Security agency from North can come closer to those borders or manage our ports under emergency situation. The land and the Sea would revolt. In as much as Yorubas will not go to Niger and Chad borders with the North to lock or monitor their borders, they can never try that here under emergency situations. I hope you understand.

This issue of south and north is a case of Stupidity taken too far.

Benue transporting their foodstuffs to different states, are they not northern state? Same as Taraba and good people of plateau state.

What I read is that north blocked transportation of food to South west after their union had a meeting.

Is South west now the new name for South If we may ask?

They blocked their foodstuff, if you have oil block it from reaching them than shouting south up and down and dragging others enjoying relative peace to a communique that has nothing to do with them...

Stop wasting time Reacting , turn off the valve of the oil than shouting South to other regions who are sleeping against tomorrow's Sunday service because the gate of hell will never prevail against the church.

Point of correction we are middle belt

story! fed govt owns oil but southerners can shut down oil production when provoked.

How were those countries you mentioned surviving b4 now? Your brothers does not understand how trade works if not they should have known that they will saturate those markets with their goods thereby eventually selling below cost price.

And those people may stay selling to southern Nigeria after buying very cheap from u

It's not sustainable.

Monogamy:

He is right but there are other ways to twist the words without glaring threat..

Northerners are only making empty threat cos if they can sell their food items to neighboring countries, then Southerners can also purchase food items from neighbouring country.

Wondering if Northerners are paying tax for transporting their goods to Southern Nigeria, hope they can do the same when transporting their food items to other neighboring countries.

What's the market force of those neighboring countries? What's Their poverty level which will determine their purchasing power?

Would those in the neighboring countries that have been in the food items business will fold their hands and allowed foreigners to monopolize their business?

Like I said, it's initial gra gra from north which shouldn't be taking seriously
The neighboring countries were feeding well before all this started. What makes the north think that they won't have to crash their prices to stimulate demand for their products

These northerners forget that most of there farm produce can imported through Cotonou. They just want to create more billionaires in the south. If they continue with this charade, they'll become irrelevant in this one Nigeria nonsense and states in the south would have developed other means of survival.

FFK never siezes to amass pesin. Is the South West the owner of the Oil and Oil Money?

You people senselessly started killing common traders who have been selling you goods for maybe years now saying they are all thesame. Asking them to leave your region and markets.

They have now gotten the memo and decided to boycott those areas their lives and goods are targeted, you're not still pleased?

These Northerners are very cunning, I give it to them. If you observe carefully, you will notice that they're avoiding a confrontation with the entire South, rather they're taking the path of least resistance by trying to isolate the SW and facing them squarely. I will give you reasons to back up this assertion:

1. It's on record that more cows and fulani herdsmen settlements have been destroyed in the East than the West, yet you don't see them attacking Igbos but they keep barking at Yorubas like they're talking to their servants grin grin They keep issuing threats upon threats on them while maintaining a deafning silence on Igbos grin grin

2. They've now started implementing their threats by placing embargo on food supplies going to the SW while the Eastern corridor is unaffected grin grin

I'm really confused if Igbos and Niger Delta minorities should stay neutral and allow the two of them fight to death or intervene grin grin I understand the implications on the entire South anyway and the fact that the North would probably crush the SW if we stay neutral. However, if tables are to be turned, the same SW would gladly stay neutral or even give moral support to North if it were to be a standoff between East and North.

At the moment, it is North 2 vs SW 0. I'm still waiting to hear of any response from them aside online vitriols and verbal response grin grin
