Yorubas should emulate igbos. In igboland, we massively produce rice. Apart from the famous Abakiliki rice, rice is produced and processed in mass quantities all over South East.
And we have yam. In mass quantity as well. The famous ones are abakiliki yam and ogbaru yam. I was surprised when i was travelling from abuja to home one time and one hausa woman asked me to buy ogbaru (in anambra state, near onitsha) yam for her when coming back.
We have igbo cow (ehi igbo), reared exclusively in igboland, and in much demand. We have igbo goat. The only difference btw ours and the hausas own is that theirs are bigger, but we have ours. And we have chicken. Even tomotoes and pepper, though in smaller quantities. And we have fish and bush meat. And we have enough vegetables and palm oil. Most igbos in SE in south east, especially in the villages, live their lives fully from year to year without buying a single hausa product.
I grew up hearing of ofada rice, i thought it was a type of rice until i was told that ofada is a name of town. U guys should keep it up.
The earlier we southerners learn to be self sufficient, the fulanis from futa jallon will keep taking us for a ride.

Oga o. Ti ya nla ba njeni kekeke atun ma ba ni lori e. This one is telling Yorubas to emulate igbos in farming. Yoruba don suffer!

It's obvious you too will suffer what they suffer since you are also in the same Agege where hunger is making their eyes red.

Don't mind that generalpula guy.. Him and arrewa are both from North. Infact generalpula that you're replying is the one with more abnormal behavior, a typical bile tribalistic fulani, causing rift between igbo and yoruba, while arrewa is hausa. He's accusing arrewa what he's guilty of, which is impersonating yorubas and attacking igbos here.

Before I joined Nairaland, I watched as a guest for quite some months..

Prior to 2015 elections, I watched as the Yeeboz started talking down on Yoruba cuz they were not rooting for PDP. I watched it for quite sometime. It was when I couldn’t take it no more that I joined to start defending my tribe..

I can’t stand the Yeeboz talking down on my tribe.. That’s where it all started. I”ve actually stopped yabbing the Yeeboz, my previous account is still on ban till today. I guess nah 600years dem give ham..

After the ban, I left Nairaland for sometime & came back to started watching as a guest again.. It was then I saw that the Yeeboz haven’t stopped all these talking downs..

Nah defense I started with, then I came back with Attack and defense!!

Tanx for the info bro. Tank God his aim was not achieved. He was accusing Arewa of being Igbo, thereby trying to make me bash Igbos buh i knew beta. I can neva b caught in a rift betwn the Igbos nd the Yorubas; i get angry wen i see em both lashing at eachoda wen d obvious enemies re the Northerners especially d Fulanies.

I sincerely hope the South west nd the South east drop this their unnecessary hatred nd face their real enemies.

The Fulanies nd Bokoharam re busy destroying the North while their elites re busy defending dem like Gumi..Dey tink dey re doin Nigeria as a whole, not knowing they re destroying their states; a time will come wen d core North will b completely wiped out nd turned to ruins. Na dat tym their eyes go clear.

DID YOU READ THE BREAKING NEWS ABOUT THE MASS MIGRATION OF YEWA PEOPLE TO BENIN REPUBLIC undecided

Thank God they migrated enmasse to benin republic which is still part of Yorubaland. If not for the berlin partition of africa in 1884-5 the Yorubas will be together.

For your information the 6th Aare ona kakanfo, Oyabi was from Ajase cotonou in present day benin republic. He even led an army to destroy the then bashorun Gaa at the behest of his monarch the Alaafin. So their exodus was still to part of their ancestral land.

The frenzy about this food blockade will fizzle out before the end of the week the same way the frenzy about the prowess of one Isikilu Wakili fizzled out.

To be honest, Miyetti Allah attempting to enforce a food blockade on the south west is a joke taken too far. Like I posited over the weekend, northern farmers and traders will be the eventual losers. Apart from the temporary scarcity of some perishable items and beans, the south west can’t be bothered about the blockade because there is no serious food item that Yoruba people can’t do without that comes from Fulani farms.

There is absolutely nothing we need in the south west that we cannot cultivate on our land or buy from our neighbors. We will simply cross over the border and buy whatever we need if we can’t get it in Nigeria.

On the other hand we can also start our own blockade. Nigeria depends on the south west for importation of almost everything. If we stop petroleum tankers from moving to the north for just two days, the president himself will run to Lagos to beg. Hopefully, common sense will prevail sooner than later and all these meaningless reactions will be over. Overall, the president must act decisively on security. The insecurity in the country is what led to this problem. Restore law and order now!

SW must never lose sight of the most important take-away in this face off, that is security of farmers in remote areas will never be compromised for political reasons. If what will assure security for everybody is herders leaving the forests, that is non-negotiable.

Open grazing is an archaic practice that has no place anywhere in the present world. Whether in the deep forest or city centers, we shall never tolerate open grazing again in the south west. The security of lives and properties of our people is worth far more than any political considerations.

He said, “All Nigerians need to thank the Yoruba people for their hospitality and kindness for hosting all tribes in Nigeria. So, they should never be repaid with evil.

Above statement is it for me ! It is so true; Yorubas are highly hospitable and kind people.

They are the glue that holds Nigeria together. It is unfortunate that in spite of all the sacrifices, the kind gestures and all that these great sons and daughters of Oduduwa have made for the survival of Nigeria and Nigerians, some idiots always wish them all manners of evils still !

It wasn't Yoruba's fault that nowhere was considered good enough to be made the capital of Nigeria in your accursed land of primitive savages, okay ? So,you need to purge yourself of this needless hate that's capable of sending you to your early grave ! The real problem with your kind is that you wish you were Yoruba or from Lagos !

You hate us,but you can't do without us still ! What kind of sickness are you guys suffering from ? Lagos, blah, blah, blah ! Why don't you advise millions of your kinsmen in Ibadan Akure,Abeokuta, Oshogbo, Offa,Shagamu,Ilorin,Ijebu ode etc to vacate our towns/cities and relocate to your god forsaken villages, monkey ? Some of you are truly stupid like those primitive fulani herdsmen, walahi.

Bros, I will take these northern Christians a million time before taking any chukwu in. I have lived with minorities from the north and I know how peaceful and understanding they are. If Nigeria disintegrates tomorrow, the Yoruba nation should chase out all "jenmiri' and make it very hard for them to enter Yorubaland.

Here is the main point

Millions of Christain Northerners now live In South west from Ibadan to Akure to Ogun state and Lagos.

Cc Lalasticlala.

My farm hands in Mowe are Northern Christians from Nassarawa displaced by Fulanis and other fightings. They will tell you that they’ve never seen peace and rest of mind in their whole life of existence like they are currently having now. Two of them have gone to marry and they brought their wives here. Obviously they’ve decided to settle down permanently here in the SW

This is the story of millions of Nigerians from all across the nation, finding peace and prosperity in the SW.

Middle belt farmers? All they do is carry along to the farms jerry cans of alcohol. They are mainly into subsistence farming just like the farmers down south.
