Check your recommendation, maybe you use an enemy for one. Someone had a similar issue before or email the school for reasons.

I’m sorry for your rejections, sometimes it might not be that you weren’t qualified to be a PhD candidate, it might just be that there are limited number of students picked yearly and there might be much more qualified students than you. Some schools receive applications from 120 students but can only pick 10-20.

Were you applying for masters or PhD?
Do you have any publications?
What was your UG and Masters course?
How reliable were you recommenders?
Was your research interests in line with any faculty members own?
Did you take your time to write an outstanding SOP?

If you want to still go for fall 2021, you can only go through masters. There are a bunch of schools you can apply to before April, but prospects on funding will be slim.

No, having an immigrant visa for another country wouldn't influence VO decision (my opinion) especially since you are applying from your home country. However, it is important to prepare strong response as to why you want the master's in the US and not in a country in North America (I assume the country you hold its immigrant visa is in North America) where you can comfortably study. Plan to explain what you have been doing there, plan after graduation. Will you be returning to Nigeria or that country? If the former, to do what? Preparation is key. Let's also hope you're able to convince the VO you meets.

Thanks a lot. Please I will need your help and guidance. I was rejected in January 2019 and I have been avoiding the US embassy since then.

Hey folks, I applied to just Missouri State University in the US for my masters because I already have an immigrant visa to a country close to the US. However, I am very interested in the masters program at Missouri State University and I intend to apply for an F-1 visa. Please will I still be required to show strong ties to Nigeria or it has to be the country of which I have its immigrant visa? considering that I am still in Nigeria and will be applying for the US visa from Nigeria.

Note there is no funding from Missouri state University and deficit is approximately 24,000 USD per year.

What are my chances of getting an F-1 visa? Since holding an immigrant visa to another country implies that I won't be returning to Nigeria.
Hi when did you get admission from Missouri state university, applied but haven’t gotten a response yet.

Alright ma'am, what of school to apply for pre medical?...how much should I budget for the 32-page

I’d advise you go for the 64pages options since the 32 pages isn’t available anyways.

Also, ensure your names are same and properly arranged as the one on your NIN. Looks like you’ll be needing a guarantor who already has a valid passport too(just a photocopy of his photo page)

Hasten up ooo and lastly if you are sitting for the March 13th SAT, the Express method will be your best bet. Na 55k Pete I do my own

Hello all. I am applying to Western Illinois University ( Msc) and I'm required to pay the application fee by check or money order because the credit card option is not available to applicants from Nigeria which would have been easier for me.
Please is there anyone that have made payment using this means. How do I go about this.

I also had same experience lastweek and since i have no one to help me pay, I decided to wait for there free application which started today 1st till 5th of this month. I just made another application today without paying any money. So I advise you apply today or tomorrow and enjoy the free application no stress yourself about any bank order.

Hello good evening. After completing your application to WIU did you receive a mail from the school confirming your application has been completed or submitted successfully?
Thank you very much.

Why are you assuming when he can simply state the country. Having an immigrant visa to Mexico or Belize is nothing. How does having a visa, not residency influence a VO's decision??

Somee people do not deserve help.

Nor vex.

I only mentioned the visa because I wanted to be sure how having an immigrant visa affects getting a US non immigrant visa. I didn't think the name of the country was relevant to the topic, plus I had gone through the thread and I didn't see where people referenced holding a valid visa to another country on the thread.

Sorry about this sir.

Firstly, let me start off by saying this; PhDs are far more competitive than Masters. With that established, I adviced you earlier, have a holistic review of your application details; starting from your statement of purpose, your Recommendations (this is very important especially for PhD applications). What I did during my application was to ask my references (if they can) to send me what they submitted. - most of them did.

What I'm trying to say is this, something might actually be "off" about your applications. Or maybe you have very ambitious schools - do you mind stating the entirety of schools you applied to?

Dont feel weary my friend? And as I said earlier, some schools still have their applications running. Aim at those.

The race isn't always to the fastest it's for those who won't give up!

I wish you well and hoping to hear some good news soon.

Ask admission committee for a copy of your recommendation letters if the policy allows you have a copy of them. Don't underate the power of some destiny destroyers! Then I would say you give out your SOP to experts to check for you. USA admission is straightforward just like plug and play kind-of, the funding and visa is the real deal...

Does this even make sense? Can you just help if you want to help? Why are you attacking the poster and fairheart like this is something personal?

Does it even sound right to even post "I have a visa to Canada/Australia but I want to apply for a US student visa" on this thread?

From the post, he/she only wanted to establish how having an immigrant visa, which already implies he/she won't be returning to his/her home country, where the person will be applying from, affects the chances of getting a US student visa. What does the name of the country have to do with helping him/her?

The poster is talking about intent/home ties, you are talking about name.

Since you are familiar with the US process, you would know one of the common reasons for rejection is intent to return to your home country. Should people start listing the countries they hold a valid visa on this thread that was created specifically for US student Visa before you help them? I'm not sure you want that.
