Peterobi90:
Job can be defined as employment, work or occupation, it is a person's role in society. More specifically, a job is an activity, often regular and often performed.

Jobs are not created from the blues, they are created via our daily specific activities.

They are coined from our daily habits alongside country policies..

The main purpose of this thread is the new habit of money cakes in place of actual cakes.. some might call it bluff, but its becoming a trend and gradually becoming a norm.

The activities that involve cakes are diminishing daily..

Weddings are on an alltime low, Birthdays are barely celebrated these days. How then do we want the bakers to feed when we deliberately kill jobs with trendy habits.

Of what use is a money cake to the society, what economic gain has it added to the economy?.. zero/zilch, but has taken food out the mouth of millions from that created through cake-baking.

Please let's be cautious, our money cake trendy habit kill jobs, our economy is at the brink on employment.. we cant keep harming ourselves. Coming from our so-called celebrities goes to show most dont think beyond their noses.

Note: I am not a Baker, just a concerned citizen.

God bless U ..you have a visionary mind

Mr. Baker-friendly, who cake ‘epp? grin
Apart from the dentistry, diabetic care and weight watchers industries?!

With that money the celebrant can buy what she/he really wants and create JOBS for people making/selling those things...
Thing about economies is constant change and evolution (just like culture). Eg, if tap water comes to a community, water tankers disappear.

When GSM mobile phones arrived, phone centers disappeared, but MORE JOBS were created, not just in the GSM companies, but also in ancillary businesses from building/maintaining cell sites and towers to stuff like selling accessories and recharge cards, fixing phones, etc.

Peterobi90:

The money cake is just cardboard and ribbon, with already manufactured currency..

But the actual cake involves
Flour from farmers
Sugar
Designers
Eggs from poultry farmers
Word from carpenters
Logistics
Kitchen equipments and utensils from traders
Intelligence from education etc....

We are too populated to be killing jobs.
Plus people that will consume the delicious ingredients in cake; as shared to particitants. Those clowns can't even share the money.

It's just an abuse of that legal tender called, money. Here, money is not serving his purpose, but another that teters around the blandishments of comedies of manners.A clear case of wealth or pseudo-wealth showboating.

Sorry, you can't tell people how to spend their money.

If you're a baker, go and learn how to make the new trend so that you will have something to put on your table.

You’re a mumu man ... what’s wrong with money cake ? Abi dem tell u say dem no Dey bake normal cake again ? Please don’t just come here to spit rubbish .... money cake doesn’t in anyway affect the cake business ... besides it’s always done along side the real cake
Re: Money Cakes: Nigerians Keep Emulating Habits That Kill Jobs (Pictures) by Chingory: 11:05am On Mar 04, 2021
I support the OP's point with my Airtell data! This trend is killing business and it is sending wrong signals...

That being said, I am available for money cake...this is my account number, 0904500***, in case you want to surprise me with it... Please o, I mean MONEY CAKE, not the actual cake. The last real cake I ate gave me 'jedijedi' and I can't bear that anymore.

OP dont worry, cakes can never go out of style. You just have to upgrade your cake making skills. Have you seen the crazy cake designs Americans are making on Instagram these days? Everything can be made out of cake, books, shoes, tissue paper, even houses and cars.

And there are other decorative icing styles like mirror glazed cakes. Or you can mix it up, bake the cake and put money inside, if it's a nice design people will always patronize you.

Learn these styles and trust me, your business will always have customers.

these are just trends that won't stand the test of time... no matter how many money cakes they make don't be surprised they still would make use of the normal cake too... nothing to be upbeat about here

OP is silly. End of story.

People have the free choice of doing what they want.

If the services of bakers are important, they would be called upon.

If their services are not important, no amount of blackmail would force people to use their services.

A poor understanding of economics is what leads to this level of "crybabyness".

Do you hear pharmaceutical companies crying that agbo is killing employment? No, because if you fill a true need, your employment is always secure.
