Hi please am new here but I have taken time to read through the threads.

1.Please assuming someone wants to transfer a lump sum of about 6 million naira to my account, how do I put it so it doesn’t raise an eyebrow

2. Will 8 million naira in my bank statement be enough for proof of fund for NSE study route. I have paid part of my school fees, remaining 1.2 million naira to be paid

for question 1 who is paying the lump sum is the person a close relative I mean member of ur nuclear family Mother father elder brother or sister? if yes a gift of deed would do but it must be properly documented. if no then it's best you break it down to bits and put it in over time
2. 8million is less than 24k cad so it depends if the tuition deposit completes the 30k cad requirement. in my own case I had 8million too in my own personal account after paying 8700cad for my winter term from my sponsor account bringing his balance down to 52,300 cad and also i had graduate research asistant offer of 18k cad. But covert the 8million to cad with the prsent rate and add it up with the deposit to know whether u meet up

@skull4eva thanks for answering my question.

The person paying the lump sum is not a relative.
Can the lump sum be tied to a sale of land?

I submitted my application on January 18, 2021. I was almost going to send a message to them but I read somewhere on their website that decision will be made prior to March 2021, so I thought to give them till mid March.

SwayB:

please can you tell me the exact date you applied as i also applied in January and i have not gotten a feedback yet.

In some cases student number is given if the application has been passed/ certified for admission. It happened to me after submitting my application to McGill. I got a student ID(not application no) early Jan. Second week of January LOA dropped.
So getting a student number bf LOA is a positive sign that your application has been considered for admission (unofficially), and LOA will soon drop.
How long would it take for the admission letter to ccme out??

I appreciate the good job done here and those that assist others in one way or another. I'm about to process my application, and I have a few questions. My dad wants to sponsor my education in Canada. He has enough money to pay for the school and my living expenses, but the thing getting me worried is my employment history. I finished NYSC in 2019, and since then I've been hustling and doing different stuff. I really don't have work experience. And I have little cash in my bank account. Now, I'm worried about my employment history and personal financial status. My dad has a company, and I go there to assist him once in a while. He doesn't pay me.
1. Can I use this by saying I volunteered at his company and he doesn't pay me?
2. Does my employment or personal financial status matter since my dad has enough to sponsor me?
3. If said I volunteered at my dad's company, and I don't get paid, do I have to submit my personal bank statement?

Hello,

It would have made so much sense if your UG studies was in any way connected to what services your Father's company offers (I do not know if it is or not).

What you can do is to say that you've been an understudy In your dad's Business, and that you look to take over after your Studies in Canada. Again, It would have made so much sense if your UG course was related.
If not, you'll have to really convince the VO that in the last 2 years, you've developed so much interest in your dad's Business, and that you'll love to get better experience in that field in order to come back and improve the business.

If you're not going for a course that will be beneficial to your dad's business, then you can say that you've been actively involved in your dad's Business while waiting for the opportunity to further your studies in the same course you studied as an undergraduate. You'll have to back it up with really good Future/Career goals, like where you'd like to work when you return, what problems you'll like to solve, etc.

I wish you luck!

Good afternoon everybody,

Mr Frank and others in Canada

Please I want to confirm if the weekly 20hours of work has been lifted. I was in a zoom meeting with some Canadian government officials and they mentioned something like that .

I want your first hand opinion.

Thank you

Thank you so much for this. I studied business admin. And the course I'm looking to go for is also a management course which will beneficial to my dad's firm. I hope this is okay? And if I'm a volunteer, do I need to show my personal financial status?

I haven't created a block account yet but I do have the money, I'm just waiting for the university portal to be opened so that I can send my application also I'm going for a Bachelors degree. Would I be able to get an appointment date? Also are you in Germany? I want to know so that I can reach out to you I might need help later on
Yes, I’m in Germany. Going for a Bachelors might make it difficult for you to get appointment date. I would advice you have a plan B, like consider other countries.

I want to be able to start a career in Canada as a web developer, but apparently I can't do that as I would need a reason to go. My main problem right now is purpose, should I take up the Interactive Web design course in Georgian College which would really help in setting me up in the Canadian IT sector and help increase my web dev skills as it's a really hands on course or take up the Masters in Communication Technology just to be able to go over (less immigration trouble) and maybe later try to get into the Web dev community after my studies while still increasing my web dev skills during the Masters programme on my own. Which would be a better route.
My skillset right now include HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React. I know I still have a long way but I've been able to come this far. I plan on taking more coursera courses and having side projects to be able to add to my portfolio.

Your present skillset is enviable already. I'd say you go for the Masters in Communication Technology. And if it indeed fast tracks your entering Canada, Web development is something you can pick up anywhere. And obviously, Canada has far better conditions to become a Pro Web developer!
