If this persists, unfortunately a lot of "temporarily suspended projects" will end up being abandoned permanently.
I don't know which will be impacted more btw private builds and commercial projects...But one thing is for sure, it has become ever so important to identify and keep tabs on cost drivers during the project.

An unpopular opinion ... but in some cases, one may actually be better off using a contractor that can deliver cost-efficiencies. While on the other hand, building contractors that do copy&paste and conventional methods only will have their work cut out for them.

All in all, it is not enough to follow the bandwagon and just say I'll suspend the project to wait for price normalcy.

I pray we all can maneuver this period very well and get back on track and have the wisdom to make right decisions.

Hmm there's something I like about your style, you invest now and later on make an offer to your client using your strategic of money spent now is more valuable than money spent later in future.

Its more easier to work with discount for your client because of this..

Presently I buy blocks at the rate of 300 for 9inches client is the one supplying this block himself ..This said block must not fall on someone leg its mini rock

With my elementary knowledge... Wood is far durable that POP. Even my grandfather's door in the village is still standing after many decades

of course that's very true but you know it shifts out of position over time.
it looks fashionable tho as a ceiling but I'll choose pop.

I like � the way you keep investing in tools to make life easier for your workers, in doing so you save a lot of money as well. What I’ll like you do is spend big money on power tools as well train your workers how to handle and used them. This reminds me when I want to start one of my project l asked them rent generator, the guy is asking for 8k a day for 4/6 hours daily, me buying the petrol to run it ooo. I asked the guy if I bought him 10 of the same generator to rent them out and give me 4K day he can keep the rest, he laughs and said Oga e no the work like that.

On this project, I have two generators. One is a welding generator and the other is for site work (including pumping of water).

My client never have to worry about that.

The time and resource we spend on equipment hire on projects is almost 2 to 3% of the total project cost.

We have almost all power tools on site (circular saw, grinder, poker vibrator, plate compactor etc). All these tools comes at zero cost to my client.

I only force my client to buy tank because my tanks are out of Lagos.

Interestingly, I have almost all the equipment in twos.

I actually brought this from Ogun state but I’ve seen similar in Lagos for 15,000

Here’s the difference. Mine is made with 2.5mm thick checkered plate and there are some other differences in the bearing and the thickness of the plates holding the bearing.

I got mine 21k.

Please is this ok ? And what other items should l look out for because he mentioned many l can't recall.
