CocoaOla: How will you charge said electric car in Nigeria's with an epileptic power supply? How will you go on journeys without any charging infrastructure available? How will you afford the upfront cost of purchasing an electric vehicle? We are a long way from mass adoption of electric vehicles in Nigeria, assuming that possibility actually exists. 2 Likes |

ADAMUdaCOWBOY:just based on common sense, so the path of resistance of the catalytic converter in the exhuast will make the piston do more work aka more fuel usage now if the catalytic converter is stolen and that resistance is removed the piston does more RPM because it is more effective now and no resistance and this high RPM is what leads to more fuel consumption . and so removing the catalytic means higher fuel consumption. this is just me using common sense to try to compute it |

I do minor repairs on my car by myself. Thanks to the internet and YouTube (scotty kilmer). I have my scanners and tools. I do car wash by myself. I make sure I get quality parts and stuff to keep my baby as good as new. Mechanics and panel beaters are thieves. 3 Likes |

CocoaOla:So how much is the average price for an electric car in naira?? And how much does it cost to install a home charging station?? And finally how much does it cost to replace the battery in Nigeria, when they go bad. Remember that Nigeria has the highest no of poor people in the world currently and is in recession with about 33.7% unemployed and inflation at about 17.1% inflation rate. Don't forget that most poor people don't reason with thier head but rather with their stomach and pocket. 2 Likes |

Hhmm ! I learnt about this catalyst thing after I kept seeing a group of guys handling it everyday. Thing is, they make mad money from it. Had to ask what it was from a male friend of mine after I kept seeing how dirty they look after sorting, pounding, measuring and every other manipulation they do to it after gathering it from various sources. Also the way they change new, flashy cars. One even erected a mansion in less than a year! Funny thing is, na police hilux their ring they use move the thing sef most weekends. I'm believe they operate as a syndicate together with mechanics. My advice to every car owner is, as much as u can, be there when your car is being fixed. 3 Likes 1 Share |

The fellow that tried it with me regretted his action. I changed my silencer net and in the process he removed the catalytic converter. I discovered immediately I cranked the engine cos I know much about vehicles, then I asked him why the change in sound of the car and the werey told me that it was because of the new net. I just smiled and went to fetch two of my police friends and narrated everything to them and where to locate it in the vehicle. We got to the workshop and I confronted him but in their usual manner he vehemently denied it. without wasting time, my people demanded that the car be jacked, omo come and see drama my man was looking for jack that was right in the boot. After every every he started begging and luckily for me he hadn't sold it. he was first asked to replace it and later taken away for some days . 1 Like |

Oga Gazzuz, please permit my naivety please. Does the sensor spacer replace the Catalytic converter's primary function (emission control)? Also if the Catalyst is bad and has been removed and then O2 sensor spacer alone is installed, would the space (in the pot. Especially the one under) not cause a loud engine sound ? Considering the spacer for my 2003 Highlander. Awaiting your feedback Sir. GAZZUZZ: 1 Like |

I tried buying the advertised from Gazzuz this evening but when he saw the fault codes he promptly told me that it won't solve my problems and refunded the money I had transferred. He asked that I post the scan result here for explanation. So here I am to see how I can be helped by the guru himself. Vbabs: 2 Likes

Re: Why Your Car's Catalytic Converter Is Very Valuable by nairamaniac: 8:26pm On Mar 17, 2021 |
Ejebleje: Thanx for your reply. iv asked even sellers of this space about what it does and other functions. What they say mainly is that "it clears the DTC code from showing". What is IF U INSTALL IT, U WOULD NO LONGER SEE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON YOUR DASHBOARD. And not that it automatically does the work of CATALYTIC CONVERTER. Pls let's house, let's get to the True/honest role of. SPACERS, before I'm forced to OPEN a full Brand-new thread on it. Thanx! cc: HottieCoach Gazzuzz 1 Like |
Re: Why Your Car's Catalytic Converter Is Very Valuable by Ejebleje: 10:03pm On Mar 17, 2021 |
nairamaniac: In layman's terms, the spacer extends the gap between the o2 sensor and the exhaust gases, with an increased gap, it will provide a lower Co2 reading. This is what helps clear your check engine light So if you find a spacer with this miniature catalyst embedded, it could help improve fuel consumption and help pass emission test, not like you'll be doing it here anyway 1 Like |

CHUXA: P0115 code definition Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor circuit malfunction problem First pic below should be checked The P1320 code means that there is problem with the "Ignition Coil" or the wire to the ignition coil. For some models without individual ignition coils the Ignition Coil is inside the distributor and the distributor need to be replaced to fix the problem. Check the ignition coils P0135 Heated oxygen sensor Bank1 sensor 1 circuit. Replace the sensor after verifying continuity on the heater circuit . P0141 NISSAN Rear Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 2 P0161 is a very common OBDII code that occurs in the Nissan Pathfinder. It is typically caused by a failure in one of the elements that heat the oxygen sensors, specifically bank 2 sensor 2. P1130 NISSAN Swirl Control Valve Control Solenoid Valve has circuit issues. (Check 2nd pic) The other codes are irrelevant as they are all related. You should check every 02 sensor on your vehicle seems none of them are functional (3rd pic) a smart electrician can help you with that. When you done, clear all codes drive around for a day or 2 and rescan vehicle . The device I sell will only be useful when you have functional O2 sensors that have triggered a p0420 code or a p0430 code.

erico2k2: I think it would enable your car to pass the emission test. Based on the code (DTC) for NO CATALYTIC CONVERTER wouldn't be amongst the reasons for CHECK ENGINE LIGHT to show on your dashboard. I'm believing that is all it would do. but wd never perform the roles of the removed catalytic converter. |
