Sorry for the break in transmission. As usual, its due to circumstances beyond my control. Well, i got good news for yal. While testing my hands on celtel, I was able to get a working proxy server address. Way faster than 172.18.254.5 8080. I'm so glad i was able to really do some raw stuff on my own.
As for the overclocking stuff, well its simply like this. Most systems in general are made to work on certain restricted basics, hence stuff like *FCC COMPLIAINT*, meaning that the system is made for condusive use only.
However, such limit can be bypassed and made to work at extreme levels. At a research test some years back, mobile bluetooth limit(100meters) was bypassed, seeing it receiving signals from way over a hundred feet. i can't remember the site where i got that now, but anyway, for some mobile phones, overclocking includes enhanced vocal clarity, boosted signal reception, and optimised data transfer. in order to save battery power and life span, these features were disabled in most phones. Guess it was improved for 3G phones or something.

Like i said, it could complicate the function of the phones; the makers aint dumb. Its like giving a kid A-level maths to solve. The phones might just go on strike(crash!) for your benefit.

It works anyway, and your phone's speed could be enhanced well into the 3g level,

has anyone tried using skype with celtel? I find it hard to connect, except i use ultrasurf, and it disconnects alot. I checked on a friend and it works well for him. I've done so many experiments on my system that i dont remember which setting i could have edited, from registry to core files.
even when i enabled firewall to accept https connection, which skype user, there was no improvement. Any clue?

men, am trying to law my hands on any 3G phone. Maybe i just have to sell my n72. I went to my friends place and after configuring his phone(the mumu spends 16k every month on starcomms broadband.), we were downloading mp3 in seconds. I got maya dvd 4GIG in 1hr! The speed is mad. Funny enough, its faster than mtn, but glo is fastest. Download speed 2mbps!

have you tried using sure proxy transcoder on it. I dont know the address offhand,as im mobile. but i know it works for glo and celtel.

hey info, is there a way to upgrade the n72 to enable umts? I cant afford another phone now.

I use n72. Will i get the 3g stuff if i update?
by the way, does the 3g have hardware functionality? If not then it could surely be made to work on non 3g phones.

My Reasearch plenty o, i use celtel's UMTS network, (3G) my average download speed is now between 42 - 48 kb/secs

info, please throw more light on this subject. I dont know much about celtel's 3g, but that kinda speed, Awesome!
the highest i could get with mine has so far been 6kbps. And its very unstable. How do you do it?
