mouna: Mr Ogidiboy, i salute your patriotism but Nollywood is the third highest movie producing nation (after bollywood and hollywood), and not the third best movie producing country. Both categories are obviously different. We produce alot of crap and call them movies, with your actors sounding like they have hot yam in their mouths, and the plot of these movies, RIDICULOUS, so also the sound tracks-really do u need to have the chorus of the ost the same as that of the movie? Since when did millenium range rovers and lincoln navigators become products of the 60's and 70's-i mean, flashback scenes to when one was younger and the character is using a bug?or is it the gsm phone being used in times nitel was still struggling to have up to 10,000 lines. Only in Nollywood movies do we see such. Its about time we send our own message to the world through our own style of movie making(the indians have their music and dance sequence, the chinese and have their martial arts, hollywood has its mastery of storytelling and special effects) do we mean to say we have nothing to offer?. We've got books in this country written by Nigerians and most of us born in the 80's or earlier have read them. Books we read as kids, in secondary school, are these not worth making into movies? they are already set in Nigeria, with nigerian plots and show case our mentality and not some screenplay copied from some hollywood movie (anyone remember two can play that game, and its nigerian version break up?). has any of these self proclaimed producers ever considered turning one of the many plays show cased in the national theater into a movie?have they ever thot of doing it like the Yoruba movies-showing your movies in the cinema before releasing into cds etc_have they? Till these "producers" who are mostly greedy,do their home work properly, carry out research on what they are planning to produce, we should continue to expect the rubbish created movies. The rate they are going it would be better to watch music videos than nollywood movies, what am i saying it is better. Thanks God people don dey talk truth. But I want to say this once again, Nollywood is growing and you don't expect a budget as love as $20k to produce a better movie do you? Markerter/Producers buy crappy Script for less than 50,000 and do their normal rush hour thing and call it a movie and all of them even try to take it to Film Festival can you imagine? Another reason why we cannot make quality movies is because only one person be Producer,Director,Story by,Screenplayed by with all the title "AGN,DGN,SWGN. I don try talk my own and all the Script Writers in Da House please help nollywood please be lil creative. Da Prof, Wetin dey now? Wana get to know ya aight. |
TV/Movies › Re: Pirated DVDs With 16 Movies: Is Nollywood Doomed? by powerofmap(m): 1:44am On Mar 04, 2008 |
blacklion: no be only for naija wey piracy dey - i suspect that nollywood channel in london is a huge piracy scam. its doubtful if they are paying royalties to the producers and artistes in naija I agree with you bro it might be a piracy scam because if really the revenue generated from there is getting to the producers/marketer most of them would not be keen to sell Disc instead of movies. Most of the producers prolong the parts of the movies just to gain more bucks. |

Chei! Prof wetin make we wey won go film school do na as nollywood don't give a phuck, The speed in Nollywood has cost the industry to be called "RUSH HOUR SETTINGS" because the producers are so impatient and don't care if the Actor/Actress jump their Line. Anyway sha we go still go sha and Nollywood go surely accept us one day. |
