Popular musician Davido Celebrates his 27th birthday with his beautiful fiancée Chioma, some of his family and Friends, praizenews report.

Davido who is about to drop his album ''AGood Time'' was spotted sitting at a round table with his wife and his crew celebrating the legend.

Recall David Adedeji Adeleke (born November 21, 1992), better known by his stage name Davido, is one of the best singer and songwriter in Africa

Born in Atlanta and raised in Lagos, Davido rose to fame in 2011 with the release of “Dami Duro”, the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo (2012).

Davido later founded the Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) record label, got Dremo and Mayorkun as the first set of artists to sign to the arguably best label in Africa presently.

Another trouble

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today, November 20th arraigned Abdulrasheed Maina on a fresh charge of contract racketeering and stealing. He was docked before Justice Abubakar Kutigi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Gwagwalada, Abuja, Praizenews report.

The former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, was docked on a nine count charge alongside one Ann Igwe Olachi, who was his secretary.

Maina is alleged to have abused his position as chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team to award fictitious contracts for purported biometric enrollment of pensioners, an offense that is punishable under Section 317(read in conjunction with section 316) of the Penal Code Act, Cap532, vol. 4, Laws of the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, 2007.

Facts of the case indicate that “bogus” claims of fictitious allowances were also made by Maina and his cohorts in the course of the purported biometric enrolment assignment, while proceeds of the fictitious contracts were remitted into his account through the 2nd defendant.

When the matter was called today, prosecuting counsel M.S Abubakar informed the court that the matter was slated for arraignment and applied that charges be read to the defendants to take their pleas. When the charge was read, the defendants pleaded not guilty.

One of the counts reads, “That you ABDULRASHEED ABDULAHI MAINA and IGWE ANN OLACHI between December, 2010 and January, 2011 in Abuja, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court dishonestly received an aggregate sum of N136,200,000(One Hundred and Thirty Six Million, Two Hundred Thousand Naira Only) from one Ibrahim Abdulkarim knowing that the said money was stolen from the Federal Government of Nigeria under the guise of payment of allowances”.

Another charge reads,

“That you ABDULRASHEED ABDULAHI MAINA and IGWE ANN OLACHI between July and December 2010 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this honorable court dishonestly received an aggregate sum of N153,146,719,.99 ( one hundred and fifty three million, one hundred and forty six thousand, seven hundred and nineteen Naira, ninety nine kobo) from Xangee Technologies Limited (which company is facing separate charge before Federal High Court) knowing that the said money was stolen from the Federal Government of Nigeria under the guise of contract for biometric enrollment of pensioners.”

Another count reads, That you ABDULRASHEED ABDULAHI MAINA on or about the 8th July, 2010 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this honorable court dishonestly received N107,398,500 ( one hundred and seven million, three hundred and ninety eight thousand, five hundred Naira) from Fredrick Hamilton Global Services Limited through one Osarenkhoe Afe( both of whom are facing a separate charge at the Federal High Court) knowing the said money was stolen from the Federal Government of Nigeria under the guise of contract for biometric enrollment.”

The case has been adjourned till November 28, 2019 for ruling on bail application.

Nigerians will be happy

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has stated that his goal with the Nigerian national football team is to win the upcoming African Nations Cup in 2021, Praizenews report.

Rohr, who guided the Super Eagles to victory against Benin on Wednesday is out of contract in June 2020 but says his plan is to lead Nigeria to the summit of the African tournament rather than just qualify for it.

Nigeria face Lesotho in it's second match of AFCON 2021 qualifying this weekend and hope to make it a second win during this international football window.

The Franco-German coach who once played for Bayern Munich led Nigeria to a second-round exit in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and a third-place finish in the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

Speaking on his future plans, Rohr said;

“It will be exciting for me to win the 2021 AFCON title with Nigeria. That’s my desire, and I will be the most excited.”
“So winning against Benin is just the beginning. I can’t be excited until we win the title in 2021.”

Reminiscing on the Super Eagles win over Benin, Rohr said to reporters; “The Super Eagles had a lot of scoring opportunities, but they failed to convert all of them.”

“In the second half, we played a very good match, ‘one-touch two-touch’, and we have good wingers. We had a lot of opportunities, and with the changes we made, we did very well. It is good for us.”

An unidentified bride pulled quite a weird stunt at her wedding as she arrived her reception venue in a coffin, Praizenews Report.

The bride started dancing immediately the coffin was opened to the amazement of everyone who gathered to celebrate with her on her big day.

Some details of the wedding is still unclear at the time of filing this report. However recall that a 58-year-old bride, Jenny Buckleff pulled same stunt in 2018 by also showing up at her wedding in a coffin. She said she did it because she wanted to be different.
