Molue no dey go Aussie? That would be cheaper |
bossladyMo: Ermmm...you can get Lagos - Abu Dhabi - Sydney.....so getchya facts right! How much this route will cost? Hope it is quite cheap? |
Ok. Tnx Bosslady |
bossladyMo: Ehn ehn...most of the Asians on expat forum wait about 3days for a reply sha.Ok. Pls what is "Expat forum"? I can also benefit from the Asians... |
bossladyMo: I read somewhere that they were closed on Friday...somehing about moving offices. Usually takes about 3-4 days to hear back sha...from people's experiences.ok. Maybe the moving of office could be a reason. Also, its not up to 3-4 days just like u mentioned. True, ICAN may not be on the list, but trust me, it is recognized. |
bossladyMo: Hehehe! Like I always say, my kids deserve better! One of the GREATEST regrets of my life is not doing IELTS during the 12 wks I waited for my assessment...chai! I would have been in my 2nd month of visa lodging now...but all good, na d water pour, the bucket no break. No be lie! As long as the bucket still dey intact, it can always fetch WATER. No be so? Yes I have mailed my CO. But the lady never reply me. E be like say my face dey scare her. Well, I mailed her on thursday and I thought they reply on time. About the Accounting Assessing bodies. U re correct. Theu hav like two. CPA and ICAA. Their requirement for assessment are almost d same. IELTS academic with at least 7 in all band, at least 9 out of 12 subject in the ANZSCO code, of which 4 compulsory. Infact, CPA and ICAA have harmonized their assessment criteria. No loopholes bosslady. About 3 years ago or so, our B.sc Accounting was comparable to tht of Aussie but they hav changed d rules. A lesson to always do things on time when the opportunity exist. |
[quote author=bossladyMo]Hi! Left to me, I would have found a way to leave this country years ago, but my husband is the "I'm staying back in my home country bla bla bla kind of person". Lol. BossMan Honestly, if I have realized on time, I would have found a way out of this country as well. I dnt wanna go into the many challenges and stuff besides its our HOME country. But a man has to do, what he has to do. I once shared ur hubby's view about staying in our home country, but not anymore. Smiling and suffering...TUFIAKWA!!!! Still checking my email box by the second for that GOLDEN email. |
@ aolatunde00 Your husband did a great job at getting at least a 7 in each band in IELTS. Its not easy especially if it was Academic test he attempted because that what is required by CPA(Aussie Accounting professional body). About the assessment with CPA, my assessment was done by CPA and they equate our B.sc to their Associate bachelors degree. This is like our diploma cert and the threshold is that ur qualification should be at least comparable to an Australian Bachelors degree. For ur husband to get a positive assessment with CPA, he shld include a Master degree or a professional qualification in his application. CPA is quite strict with their assessment. Goodluck |
bossladyMo: IELTS is out! 9, 8, 7(writing), 8.......noooooooooooo!!! Lol! 190 it is!!!!@ "BOSSMAN" Congrats! U nailed it! I think IELTS is arguably highest hurdle in IMMIGRTN process baring other issues like medicals and stuff. Are u very sure u can't go for 189? I put in for 189 and I averaged 7.5(Academic, at least 7 in all bands) and my assessment was positive. U may want to re-check. Congrats once again "BOSSMAN" |
manmeta: In 2012 when I applied for my PR, I listed my non-migrating family members which included my dad and siblings and they were not required to carry out medical and police checks.@Manmeta Thank u. Now we have concrete evidence. |
Important: The above health examinations will also need to be completed by any non-migrating dependents, that is any members of your family unit who do not intend to migrate and are not included in your visa application, in case they decide to migrate in the future. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/health-requirements/health-exam.htm @spiggy and weconsult I still disagree with your interpretation of DIBP statement. The last sentence of DIBP statement says it ALL and I quote: "in case they decide to migrate in the future" They said "IN FUTURE" not at the moment of application or during processing. What if a family member is cleared medically now and in future, at the time he/she want to visit Australia upon ur invitation, he/she have Tuberculosis for example? What ws the purpose of the first medicals tht cleared he/she? It doesn't make sense in my opinion. I knw of a friend that got PR and he never said his non-migrating family members he included in Form 80 had to undergo medicals. As for a non-migrating partner to undergo medical, it makes sense not non-migrating family members. |
@ UBKtech U said u and ur spouse did medicals 6months apart; I thought u said DIBP required tht u provide those requirement within 28days. Why the long delay? And another thing, how is ur application progressing or progressed? Did they eventually grant u guys the visa considering tht ur medicals is at least 6 months ago? I did my medicals about 2 months ago and still no words frm DIBP. |
@UBKteck You are right. I see ur point. Regardless of whether ur partner is a MIGRATING/NON-MIGRATING, he/she will have to undergo medicals at the time of ur application before visa. I think this applies only to a partner NOT family members. Remember, ur case officer will have to give whoever is undergoing a medical a HAP ID. Did they send ur partner a HAP ID? |
@ UBKtech From the letter DIBP sent to u, their position is very clear regarding MIGRATING/NON-MIGRATING family members/partner. If one is including a migrating family/partner, that family member/member is expected to undergo a medical and this makes a lot of sense as such a person is also entering the Australian society just as the principal applicant. DIBP do NOT require non-migrating family members to undergo medicals. Their inclusion in Form 80 is for record purpose and for future reference if u are inviting them over. This is my take. |
bellong: Yet to see itI just replied ur mail. Check ur inbox |
bellong: Still hopeful. No problem with the inbox stuff.ok I have sent u a request through your nairaland-linked email address. I don't knw if u hav received it. Hope its still active and accessible by u? |
bossladyMo: Don't think that will go down well with Hubby, lol.Ok. No worries. I will Quote and direct any question I have specifically for u. Watch this space. Your Hubby must be a lucky man. Hope u don't "BOSS" him around Lol |
bossladyMo: I dont have access to the email linked to this acct for now, you will have to give me a bit...@BossLady Ok. What about BBM or Wassap? I can give u my pin on this space(forum). Are u on BBM? |
bossladyMo: Your timeline is still pretty much on track, nothing out of the ordinary...so nothing to fear. I prefer when the co asks to go do medicals, than frontloading medicals...that way you can track your application, and know if all is going well. Give it till the end of this month, max end of next month.Bosslady Mine is 221213. Pls let's also do private mail as well as share on this fine forum. Hope u don't mind? |
@BossLady MONTH One more thing; u said tht Naija medicals are usually reffered and it takes 45days. Pls what do u mean by 'REFFERED'. Pls throw more light and d 45days |
bossladyMo: .@Bosslady Here is my timeline: 12th March 2014-Lodged my EOI 27th March 2014- Invited to lodge formal application 16th April 2014-Lodged formal application 16 May 2014-My Case Officer requested for additional information and asked me to undergo medicals either in Lagos or Abuja 26th May-Date- Did my medicals and I still dey wait o o o o. Hoping for the best |
bellong: According to DIBP and some people I know who got theirs, it is from the date of application.@bellong Tnx once again. I will keep waiting and hoping for that GOLDEN email. Are u an Aussie hopeful or u are already there? We can inbox one another, if u don't mind. |
bellong: There is no specific time frame but the waiting period now is about 3 months. The process is faster depending on the subclass, seems 190 is faster than 189.@Bellong Tnx. The Non-migrating family members were not requested to do medicals. Its only me, the principal applicant, tht was asked to do medicals. Mine is subclass 189. Pls the 3 months you mentioned; is from the date of medicals or from the date of application? |
Na wao o. Make una answer me na! I have been asking who have experience or knows someone tht has done medicals for PR and how long it took for Visa to come out; nobody answer me. I did my medicals since May and am yet to be contacted. Pls any ideas...I beg. Biko... |
Nwokenna: I believe seeing is believing, tell us how it goes when you come in without it.@Nwokena. I greet you. Pls hw long did it take for Aussie immigration to contact u after medicals? I had mine May 26th(Fatai williams in Lagos) but I hav not heard frm them. I need someone to talk to, ANXIETY wan kill me! I sent u mail on this, I have not gotten a reply. |
