African Union Heads of State and Government have observed a minutes’s silence in the memory of late Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday during the 28th ordinary session of AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

During the official opening session of the AU Summit, Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno, the incumbent AU President, invited the African leaders to ovserve a minute’s silence in the memory of “our late brother,” the NIgeria President Muhammadu Buhari.

African leaders have gathered in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, to attend the Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union(AU).

The Summit, which is to take place from 30th to 31st January, will be preceded by a meeting of the Executive Council.

The suspended judge had fixed Saturday (today) for the inauguration of the election petition panels.


Details of tomorrow’s election panels to be sworn in, according to dependable sources at the Supreme Court are 250 judges.

The source said, “There are a total of 250 members who would sit on the election panels. The panels comprise National Assembly Election Petition Tribunals, Governorship Election Petition Tribunals, and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunals.

“His sudden removal was aimed at either stopping the event or removing some judges on the lists. That is what will happen.”


It was gathered that judges that would make the panels had arrived Abuja, with the hope that they would be inaugurated on Saturday.

Journalists have been barred from accessing the house of the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.

Our correspondent who tried to gain access to the house located close to the Supreme Court was denied entry by stern-looking security men comprised of policemen and men of Department of State Services.


He was turned back by the men wearing presidential villa accreditation tag who told him his visit could not be permitted.

One of the men of the DSS, who questioned our correspondent, asked, “What is your mission here.”

Our correspondent: I’m here to observe the situation around the house of the CJN to avoid misleading report.


DSS: Are you invited?

Correspondent: I don’t need a formal invitation in this circumstance, I only come to have first-hand information.

DSS: That means you are here on sight and see. Sight and see is not allowed. Make a detour and go back.

The operative then beckoned on armed policemen to guide our correspondent out.

President Buhari: Anybody That Jokes With Nigeria's Unity Has A Problem With Us

President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja declared that the Federal Government is ready to contend with anyone who is against the peace and unity of Nigeria.

''Anybody that tries to joke with the unity of this country has a problem as long as we are alive,'' President Buhari said while receiving Eze Abdulfatah Emetumah III, the Offor of Umuofor Kingdom, Oguta LGA, Imo State.

The President told members of the delegation led by the monarch, who is also the Chief Imam of Oguta that his main objective of serving as an elected public office holder is to make the country better.

''Our single objective is how to make Nigeria better and we will never get tired,'' he said.

President Buhari, who thanked the delegation for identifying with the progress made so far by this administration in moving the nation forward, assured them that their well thought out recommendations on engendering unity in the country would be considered.

In his remarks, Eze Emetumah commended the President for demonstrating his love for Nigerians and Nigeria through purposeful leadership in the last three years.

''Your Excellency, from birth you have a mission for Nigeria and you have demonstrated this in your career as a soldier, Minister, Head of State, in PTF and now President.

''You have fought for the unity of this nation and its enemies, we know very well that you won’t tolerate anything that would affect its unity and our collective existence,'' he said.

According to the royal father and cleric, it is noteworthy that under the present administration, ‘‘dissemblers like Boko Haram and other anarchists have tasted the bitter pills.''

''In agriculture, today locally produced rice has outnumbered the imported, while critical infrastructure especially Federal roads across the nation have improved and are still improving''.

Sometimes I wonder how this president thinks. Someone close to him should please ask him, what has Nigeria benefitted from the unity gospel he has been preaching for years? It is simple understanding to evaluate the need of an agenda before propagating it. Nigeria is not united. The earlier we realize this, the better for the nation. He preaches unity that he doesn't he practice. If Nigeria is united as he claims, why did he appoint only those of his ethnicity into high ranking positions? Or does he thinks he is fooling people. Restructuring is the only way forward and you the president says no. What height of hypocrisy is Buhari practicing.

I have come to note that some persons are planted by APC in every social platform to defend their evil. We have come to a point in history where people defend their stomachs against prevailing facts. What a show of shame for humanity.

Crude oil sold averagely for over $100 all through Jonathan's government and not a single kobo was added to the foreign reserve. Instead, what he inherited from Yat'adua were squandered. Buhari met the reserve at around $30billion and has build it up to over $45billion despite oil averaging at around $50 for the past three years but Buhari is the problem. I got married to my wife last year and will have been living peacefully. She is very respectful but I found out that she concealed many things and not everything she told me before the marriage was true. I felt hurt and don't give her the due respect.

I use to quarrel her about the lies she told me before marriage and she will wet the pillow throughout the night. I have threatened divorce and she will commit suicide if I divorce her.

Here are some of the lies she told & I believe her because I thought she was a church girl: She told me she has HND but it was ND she has. She told me she was pregnant before we marry but she was not. She cut down her age by 8yrs.

Now, anytime I quarrel all the lies she told and deceived me to marry her, I will dream of death in the night. Some time I seen myself dead & being buried or I had fatal accident and died. Even yester night I quarrelled her & I had a dream that my dad died in a ghastly accident. Any time I didn't quarrel, I will not have bad dreams.

What will I do now? I don't know if I leave her I'm going to die. The discovery of the lies has taken all her love from my heart and I have told her eldest brother that I'm not comfortable with the marriage anymore. I remember that quote very well. Adam Oshomole said exactly the same thing before Edo election and APC ended up rigging that election in their favour. Ballot boxes were moved from CBN ring road Benin to APC camp and they did all the thumb printing they wanted to do, allocating votes to each contesting party. The main election votes were destroyed. After election places that didn't vote had votes allocated to them. Anambra should be weary of that statement because I am sure they have put everything in place to repeat same in the state. The kind of audacity speaks more of full assurance than expectation.
