Another Uche Izoje in the making?

Nigerian Forward prospects Favour Ossai Chinonye commits to NC State. Like Uche, Favour played high school basketball in Japan.

Chinoye, who stands at 6-foot-1, most recently played basketball at Fukushima Toryo High in Japan. Although there’s not much out there on the forward recruit, Chinoye scored 38 points in a win over Yuzawa Shohoku High School during the 2025 season.
I hope the NBBF are aware of these girls.

The NFF is the reason we didn't qualify. Their inaction, Apathy and terrible decisions got us to this point. After Afcon 2023 they should have hired Eguavoen in an interim capacity to handle just the SA and Benin games since they were unsure of retaining Pisero. Right After thise 2 games, they get a serious long term coach. Hiring Finidi who had 0 experience and looked terrible in the friendlies vs Ghana and Mali was horrible. How this NFF board led by Ibrahim Gausau still have jobs is beyond me. In a civilized country, They either resign or face a senate panel of inquiry.

Is Okoye the only light skinned player Nigeria produced? Ashly Plumtre is 75% White but she gets far more respect from Nigerian fans. Why? Because she is a warrior. Same for Ekong, Leon Balogun, Carl Ikeme, Ruben Agbolla, etc. Osaze was not just a warrior but he was also a leader. Maduka Okoye OTOH has yet to step up. Yes he was bashed for his performance vs Tunisia but he has never moved on from that game. Instead he chooses not to take up the responsibility of being #1. He does not even come to camp on time often coming in late. Is that someone you want to entrust as your #1 goalkeeper? He needs to work on his mentality. If you want to play for Nigeria you have to be mentally tough and have thick skin in order to take the avalange of criticism that comes your way.

Also someone close to him should tell him his good looks can be used for marketing and building up his brand. That was what David Becham did. But in order to that, he needs to step up and be counted when it matters most for Naija. If he isnt careful, Arthur Okonkwo will take that #2 and then the #1 spot.

Rohr bleeped up in Eze but if the same Eze wanted to play for us wholeheartedly he would have done that with less persuasion, but instead he preferred accepting a call up to rep England u20 at the expense of the super eagles

Pinnick really did all he could especially in getting Saka, Eze and Tammy and amongst the trio the duo that seemed likely were Tammy and Eze

Tammy after meeting Pinnick couple of times accepted to play for us but changed his mind after pressure from the English FA coupled with his good performances for Chelsea then

Eze trained with the team in England but Rohr refused featuring him in any of the friendlies, also he didn’t call him up for subsequent afcon and World Cup qualifiers afterwards. Eze started gaining momentum in the championship with Reading which attracted the English FA and the rest was history

Rohr only called Eze up when he started emerging as one of the bright talents in the English 2nd tier but by then he has already caught the attention of the English FA
Rhor was more into the German born players. If Eze were German he would have been capped by Rhor long ago After all Okoye got his 1st cap while playing in the German4th division. Dude fumbled on Eze big time. angry

I think Orban is more Togolese than Nigeria. And the NFF knows this . He speaks better french than English
That does not mean anything. Leon Balogun mother tongue is German, and he talks with a German accent but played for Nigeria. You guys need to stop making excuses for the NFF incompetence. Also, what evidence is there that Orban played for Togo at any level? There is no record of him ever playing for Togo. So if he has at least 1 Nigerian parent, He should be eligible to play for Nigeria

Tell me any striker we took to the Nations Cup Gift Orban is better than, who is he stronger upfront or more physically opposing?

Did you not know where glass house is located, go there and hold them responsible that they did not cap Gift Orban to come and bench Osimhen and stop disturbing us here.
Gift Orban is better than Salim Fago Lawal. Far better so there you go.

The emboldened is false in every word. "People here" knew and indeed were looking at Akor Adams long before Chelle took the Super Eagles Coaching reins. Kindly say what you know.

On Orban, I need not say much as my posts on him are well documented.
He got his 1st call up under Chelle. Before Chelle he was not in line for a call up. Eguavoen preferred Ihenacho and Sadiq who were very poor. That's not even my main point which is how the NFF under Ibrahim Gausau refuses to integrate Foreign Born players into the NT.

I don't want to waste my time on baseless arguments ,if you don't want to understand, leave it,if you believe that someone us are defending NFF,fine.

And all these your Gift Orban,Imade and co,who are they going to bench,on what games should be used to cap them, when the numbers to be playedin a year is limited,is it when the coach would be trying to see pairing Osimhen with Akor Adams, Arakade,Moffi, Desier and Onuachu that he would be caping your Gift Orban to come and do what.
A coach might looking for an imposing striker and you would want him to be caping Gift Orban that may not be on his plan

Every problem is not all NFF's fault, look at the nation today, how many things are working the way it should? Is it NFF then do you expect to be perfect just because you love football, the other day I went to the hospital, they said you should book appointment, then come back after one month before you could see a doctor.

Some of you guys have big problems, someone even said here today that Onuachu is better than Osimhen, another, he should play ahead of Akor Adams, a player that has brought urgency in our attack so far.
Who is Imade going to bench? Someone that is scoring goals for the world champions Spain and plays for Bayern Munich women will sit on the bench in the Super falcons team abi? You are delusional. Instead of holding the useless NFF accountable you make excuses for them until we miss out on yet another world cup. Keep wallowing in mediocrity.

BTW i never said anything about Onuachu. Dont put words in my mouth. I am talking about Orban. He is better than Sadiq, Ihenacho, Moffi and the other mediocre strikers we keep calling up. Keep in mind before Chelle no body was even looking at Ako Adams. This is how people here write off players without scouting them and giving them opportunities.

It's not about defending the NFF he was after,he was after stating the facts.
There is nothing NFF would do to convince anyone who doesn't want to play for us,Even if they spread red, pink and purple carpets, they will still dump you as long as they believe they stand a chance of playing for a better and more organized country, thank God Tammy Abraham confessed.

The name Nigeria is the bigger issue not even the NFF.

Victor Osimhen is one of best strikers in the world today, but look at where he is playing just because he is from Nigeria.

The way outsiders view us is different from the way we see ourselves.
How can we be begging someone who his father is a Nigerian to choose to play for us.
Do you think that NFF does know who Adarabioyo is? or has not at any point in time try to approach him?He is over 27 and he is yet to make up his mind of what he want.
Look at Ethan Nwaneri,if you try to approach that one now,he will give one useless excuse, some of them would even give you some flimsy excuses like insecurity, kidnapping and so as the reason for choosing Nigeria when we're approach.

NFF is an incompetent body, but some of you should not be blind to see the reason as to why some of the true big prospects like Olise,Eze and co could not play for us,it is not because we did not try lure them.
Guy Eze was close to playing for us but Rhor and the NFF fumbled the bag. The thing is even those players that are already leaning towards Nigeria like Orban, Imade etc are being fumbled by the NFF and part of the reason is because some NFF members and ex internationals dont like foreign born players. I heard from a source that the reason Rafiu Durosimi was left out of the AFCON was because the NFF tech committee members though he was foreign Born so they took Fago Lawal instead. Ibrahim Gausu has stated off the record that he does not want any FB players in the U20 and U23 teams. We also have youth coaches who are openly hostile to FB players. The only time you see FB players integrated in the NT is when we have foreign coaches. Yes are there some that will turn us down yes of course but those that are leaning towards Nigeria should be pursued aggressively. People need to stop making excuses for the NFF because they are a cancer on Nigerian football.

When one player dumps us, NFF wahala, when more foreign breeds switches to Nigeria all of you will remain quiet and not applaud such switch and move…

This guys simply dont wanna play for us.
Imagine the Tammy Abraham period, imagine Ebere Eze after appearing in super eagles camp…imagine how we all over Gabriel Agbonlahor… most of these guys dont wanna rep Nigeria…. everything is not NFF this NFF that
So because these guys turned us down in the past we should not pursue other dual nationals in the future? How about the ones we have now still eligible? Carney was there and no concrete efforts were made. Now he is with Austria. You have someone like Edna Imade who wanted to play for Nigeria yet was never called up until Spain finally called her up. We need to be more aggressive in pursuing these players instead of being passive. Other African countries are reaching out to their diaspora to improve their NT and some of you are here making excuses for the NFF🙄 and content with below average players and wonder why we are struggling to qualify for World cups.
