I wish NFF and WAFU speak up against these satanic regional tournaments to determine who qualifies for the U17 and U20 afcons. No other continent does regional tournaments. West Africa is being screwed over by CAF and especially by East Africa and COSAFA. Imagine needing to beat Ghana just to qualify for the U17 afcon while the likes of South Africa and Zambia plays against Swaziland and Lesotho to play in the same tournament. They either need to scarp it completely and go back to the old school format like in the U17 and U20 womens or use coefficient rankings to determine how many teams from each sub region qualifies for the youth AFCONS. WAFU B based on its past success at Africa and the world stage deserves at least 3-4 slots at the U17 and U20 AFCON.
I expect a good number of the current U17 girls like Shukurat Moshood to be part of this falconets team next year when the next round of qualifiers start. I would also like for the NFF to reach out to Joy Okonye of Brown University, if she is still within the age group. Senegal/ Algeria will be a much tougher test than Rwanda.
solonnachi: But really I feel for Jeptha Clinton, Bidemi Amole and the most shocking Divine Olise. After all the times they spent with the U20s. I hope they still make it the SE one day.
Yeah especially Divine Oliseh. He was frustrating but he has talent.
Hmmm I would have liked to see some players from Nduka Ugbade 2022 U17 set make this U20 team. Guys like Yahaya Lawali, Emmanuel Michael, Victor Okeke, Richrd Udoh etc. for continuity. I only recognize Charles Agada. It would have been a long shot but Uchenna Ogundu of Alayantaspor could have been called up too. The guy is already balling out in the Turkish top flight. Also what happened to Jonathan Spiff of River Plate? I though he was going to make the squad. That boy is deadly. I hope we dont foolishly lose him to Argentina o. Anyway sha good luck to them.
opes: Oh thanks. Even last week, he honoured the invitation of England U18 and score against Morocco in an International Tournament in Spain. "O ti lo" lol
I wouldnt blame him. English clubs are very petty and would try to block him from playing for the U20. Also its not in a FIFA window so they are not obliged to release him. I hope Chelle still keeps an eye on him. The England matches he played are non binding so he can easily swicth to Nigeria as long as he does not play in a competitive game like Uefa qualifiers.
Mujtahida: Why can't Chukwueze play like this girl?
Its Boniface that should be playing like her. They are kindred spirits except that Esther is reaching her true potential while Boniface is far from his and does not care to reach it.
mank1234: Relax, FIFA will definitely do the needful when the qualifier is over in November or latest December. However, I don't see Nigeria winning all 4 games.
That is not good enough. This whole matter should have been resolved months ago. This group is very tight so they need to address this now so we know where everybody stands.
opes: He got invitation already and included in the England U18 squad for the Costa de la Luz International Tournament in Spain. Goodluck to him on his England Journey
It's a friendly tournament. After this he can still easily play for Nigeria without needing to file a switch. The Nigeria U20 Coach needs to be serious and call him up to the U20 team for the World cup in Chile. Stop wasting his time asking him to camp in Abuja. We all can see his quality.
Joy Okonye where has she been all my life? That girl na serious baller. Left foot right foot, Pacy midfielder If she is below 20 she needs to be called up to the falconets ASAP. The goalkeeper from NJIT also needs to be monitored. She looks calm and composed. The NFF needs to do a better job of scouting diaspora players. So many girls playing NCAA plus the agba ballers back home and we should be rubbing shoulder with the big girls of womens football like USA and Spain.
