I knew this was going to happen. They did a press conference and Chelle was not present. What kind of contract signing is that? Lying to the world his contract was extended yet nothing of the sort happened. These criminals in the Nff and NSC need to be rounded up and thrown into kiri kiri prison. angry Enough is enough.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Predator87: 1:25pm On Jul 05
I'm sure there is a 17 year old girl out there 8n Nigeria that can put that Benin man child striker in her pocket. The problem is our coaches don't scout properly.

So sad the average nigerian kid can't dream of ticking off this level of excitement and experience despite the debut of Nigeria in 94. Na common entrance dey parent head. Chaiii.
Nigerians dont care about children. The ones they kidnapped in Ibadan nko? They are still in the bush with terrorists while politicaians party.

When you see these trends, it discourages investment in our domestic league.
Wake up. No African league can compete with the EPL, LaLiga or the UCL. The name of the game is get the best players available to your NTs.

Story story, story. Once upon a time, time time.

Trophy score is

Madugu 1
Waldrum 0

Every other thing is irrelevant balderdash.
Yeah this is why Nigeria is a mess in all ramifications. Short sighted people people like you. How many young quality players has Madugu introduced? All the players Madugu uses are the ones Randy introduced from scratch. If Randy had more time he would have won the WAFCON. Can Madugus SFs go toe to toe with England?
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Predator87: 12:38pm On Jun 09
Madugu success is off the back of Randy Waldrum. All the top players in this team like Alozie, Okoronkwo, Plumptre, Payne, Abiodun etc were introduced by Waldrum. How many young quality players has Madugu integrated into the SF? All he does is invite old mama's like okobi, Ortega, Isah etc. Our bench is rubbish now because of Madugu 419 callups.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Predator87: 2:30am On Jun 09
The bench is rubbish. Too many deadweight.

Brazil is a very physical and direct team right now unlike they were in 2024 and early 2025. They isolated their attackers against US defence multiple times. Brazil a team to watch next year world cup. And I would love the Super Falcons to play against them in a Friendly game..
With Justin Mumugu as coach? Abeg o. 👎

You mean this same Paul Scholes shot that hit the post, Enyeama never got his hand on it. The way some of you talk make it seem like Okoye is Onana.

It might surprise you to know that Nwabali hasn't faced any European team as SE goalkeeper, only Mexico with home based side where he conceded 4 and Jamaica are the only non African sides he has faced as SE goalkeeper,

I mean against players that can hammer such on-target shots from outside the 18 yard box and long distances.

Arsenal's goalkeeper is one of the best in the world at the moment but you should go and watch the goal he conceded against Cunha and Szoboslai

You all need to chill.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_5T5nB2tyU
Enyeama saved that shot. It was ranked as one of the best saves in that 2002 world cup. Mehn some of you Nigerians love to lie and twist narratives for selfish gain. That goal that Okoye conceeded was not his fault. It was onuachu who caused that goal for not pressing but that does not mean you have to drag other people down.

How come scouts from Yurope will see our players but our own NT from U17 to U23 won't see them? This is why our youth teams are struggling cos we are not calling up our best.

For the few asking....

Christian Akpan is a 21y/o Genk U23 Fullback who has been playing Challenger Pro league football until just yesterday when he made his full first team debut for Genk Main Team in the Belgian Jupiler Pro Legaue European Conference league spot playoff vs KAA Gent.

He played the full 120mins as RB and dropped 26 defensive contributions.

Genk lost 5-4 on penalties after 1-1.

NB: He started off as a midfielder cum fullback from Asec Mimosas youth setup, CIV so he is versatile as a fullback and a central/defensive midfielder.
Dude has been playing for their B team all season. Why not call up Issac James who is based in Portugal or Samuel Isife if they need reenforcements? Me i no just understand some of these callups. I hope its fake news from owngoal cos some of these callups are not making any sense.

What dippiness is this?
Please carry this your wacky idea outa here.

How does my post you quoted sounded like I was defending NFF?

If England calls Azeez today and he dumps us and choose England after he has played for us,
If I choose to defend NFF then,I would be right to do so.

If i choose to defend them for the choice of coach they employed this time around in Chelle,I would be right to do so.

I'm only interested in what is right or wrong, It doesn't matter whether you understood it as defending NFF or Nigeria.
Moreover,NFF or Nigeria is not an all evil entity that knows no good deed and can never get anything right,
otherwise Nigeria wouldn't have won 3 AFCON trophies, 10 WAFCON trophies, 5 U17 world cup trophies, etcetera.
Why would Azeez dump us? You are not making any sense. Instead of worrying about Azeez, why can't we try to attract more foreign borns like him the way serious countries are doing? That is because your pay masters in the glass house are useless unserious people. Only reason we even got Azeez is because of Eric Chelle. If it were left to the NFF they would not have even bothered. As for out past success put a sock in it. Last time Nigeria won any male trophy was in 2015. Since then our football has been rubbish. That is the fault of the NFF.

Dude you are so goofy defending that useless corrupt organization here.

This is the guy that should be promoted to handle national coaching duties
To come and do what? You people have started this your nonsense again. What has he done in CAF competitions? CAF CL? where was Rangers? Let Rangers compete and do well in the CAF CL and CAF CC then we can talk. He should not be anywhere near the SEs. If he wants to coach a Nigerian National team it should be U20 and maybe U23 for now. No Nigerian is qualified to coach Super Eagles as of right now.

Maybe its time to start looking for stars in countries other than england for us to have a fighting chance. We also have a fault in this tho. Atleast he was called up to a pre world cup training. We did not even make the world cup itself. Its an unfair competition from the beginning as they have the prestige to turn player's heads to play for them than us. Rio is essentially gone now so we have to look and wait for other options. Atleast lets drag players with one romania or bulgaria. All these Ls from dragging players with england is too much abeg.
Majority of our diaspora born are from England. We can't just let them go. Not all of them will play for England. If Senegal, Drc, Morocco etc can get their diaspora from France why can't we get ours from England? The problem is the NFF. Their incompetence is a massive turnoff.

They should make it by beating Guinea and then Benin/Sierra Leone. And if they make it to the World Cup, crushing Puerto Rico and Poland is sure. I pray Coach Akeem gets his selection right.
We should easily dispose Guinea home and away but Benin will be tough. Their main striker is a machine. She is already top scorer for their U20 team.

Maureen Umeughochukwu 24yrs, known as The Nigerian Wendie Renard, has secured promotion to the top division in France 🇫🇷 with US Saint Malo. Nigeria 🇳🇬 will now have a tall ball playing Center back playing in the French top flight.

Some of her attributes; Elite passing range, dominate aerial duels, high composure, vision, and excellent reading of the game..
Wendie Renard my foot. As soon as she won promotion the 1st time she ran back to the French 2nd division.

On Paper we should qualify for this easy but we all know how Nigeria is. Will the NFF renew Chelle's contract?? His contract runs out next year yet they NFF keep playing games. When he leaves and the useless alhadjis in Abuja hire Eguavoen or Finidi una eye go clear. We need stability now more than ever. This group is exactly the kind of group that can mess us up like we saw in the WCQs.

Scouting is about the simplest thing any one can do,even the dumbest person from this thread can do,even you can identify most of our foreign born players across Europe from the comfort of your home,How much more professionals, coaches and agents paid to do the job?

Getting them to play for us goes beyond just scouting and identifying them, how about those players willingness to commit to our course?
This is not about shielding the football governing body for their ineptitude.

For the bolded,
As big as Nigerian football culture we are,do we really need quantity or quality talents that can compete against the best and win us trophies?
We should be aiming not just to qualify for world cup but to play in the semifinals, or possibly win it. Only true quality talents can take you that far.

Getting the very best,as the likes of Olise, Saka,Mbape, Eze,etc. is what makes the acquisition seems difficult for them.
How can we get the likes of Eze and Oliseh when we can't even get the likes of Nwaneri and Ugochukwu? You need to stop making excuses for the useless NFF and Ibrahim Gausau. Even Pinnick with his mango head was able to get the likes of Aina, BASSEY, Iwobi etc to play for Nigeria. Players we still rely on today but that useless alhadji cannot even get low hanging fruit. What does that tell you? Our infrastructure is rubbish. Only 1 caf approved stadium, No training facilities, no development plan, no grassroots plan this is the state of Nigeria football today. That makes us unattractive to anyone. Until we fix our NFF and reform it we will continue to lose out. A time will come when the likes of Morocco and Drc will be beating us home and away without breaking a sweat because we lack quality. But yea o keep making excuses for incompetent people. That's a Nigerian tradition. grin

There’s no truth to tell, we’ve been on a losing streak for years now only the s eagles and the female teams that has kept standards

From u23 to chan. Eagles to u17 has been poor a coach can only do so much the players themselves are bang average at best
I disagree. A coach can make all the difference. The likes of Zadick Yohana, Chidi Nwainu, Frank Onyeka, Christantus Uche, Fisayo Dele Bashiru, Raphael Onyedika etc did not pass thru our youth ranks yet see how well they are doing. How come our youth coaches did not find them before they made it big? Something is wrong somewhere.Selections to these youth teams are not based on merit.

This is a freshly new set of boys that you’ve thrown under the bus without even knowing if they’re talented or not.

It seems you’ve forgotten that times have changed
We no longer rule youth football when it comes to physicality and pace, other countries has bridged that gap. And we’re not top 10 when it comes to technicality either. We’re just making the best of what we got.

Give the boys a chance nobody leaves home and say hey I’m going to lose in this tourney
We have not qualified for the U23 Olympics in 10 years, and our U17 has not qualified for an U17 world cup since 2019. Keep in mind we are the most successful African team in those competitions. I an done making excuses. The cause of our failures are the current NFF led by Ibrahim Gausau. Let's tell our self the truth please.

This clearly shows you don’t follow our youth football at all
When last did Nigeria produce an U something team thT made us proud? Ever since the NFF started appointing coaches from the North based on tribalistic sentiments our youth football has collapsed. For the past 10 years we have had rubbish coaches like Zubairu, Makaiba and Bosso coach our U20s with nothing to show for it.
