stuffs4me:

One of the biggest challenges in cases of domestic violence against men is to prove that there is a possibility that the man could also be a victim.

Most people especially women are already stereotyped and will go into a tirade and will start raining curses on men as soon as a case of domestic violence is established irrespective of who is the victim.

Regarding the bolded, I once saw a video of a woman battering a man and inflicting very serious injuries on him while threatening him to "touch her and see". The guy actually never raised his hand against her to even defend himself, if he had done that, the society will never see it as self defense anymore. He would be crucified as a woman beater and with heavy consequences. Because he would most likely lose his peace of mind and he would be branded an animal, he may lose his job, his female friends etc.

More than 40% of domestic violence victims are male, report reveals

Thank you so much for your contribution, what u have just said is what is really depressing about the whole issue. I am hoping that more people will be open to discuss this, once again I thank u, it was really insightful.
Crime / Domestic Violence Against Men by PrettySleek(f): 8:13pm On May 07, 2018
Women are being abused everyday by their husbands. It has be become both a national and international problem. It makes me wonder if women rights are protected as it should be but sometimes I can't help but wonder about the men too.
I have been paying attention to stories about husbands that are abused by their wives, some may say it's rare, some may say it happens but the men just ignore. As a psychiatric nurse, i have come to understand that the psychological trauma is the same for both sexes, they both suffer the same feeling of sadness, pain and worthless. My own understanding is that some men are afraid to talk up, they may be seen as weak by other men. Some men prefer to let themselves get hurt instead of hitting a woman because by then the women are seen as the victims. But looking at it from a different perspective, protecting yourself from harm is seen as self defense right? All these are pointing to one thing, abuse is abuse no matter who is involved. The topic of domestic violence against women is as important as that against men. Men need to be protected as well, if u are being abused by your wife or lover please speak up, talk to someone, anyone before it's too late. It is time for people to recognize how important their lives are.
Women lives matter, this should be the same for men
Please feel free to clear your opinions, criticism is allowed but be mature and reasonable while doing so. Thanks.

I hate when women leave their marriage and people slam them without knowing the reason? Do u know if d man slept with her best friend? Her sister? Do u know if he tried to kill her? Pls if don't know d real story, Shut the hell up. Am not going to commend or condemn her, let her find her peace and be happy. It's between God and her.

I have heard a lot of stories about this. I was told it's a normal thing in camp and everybody just rolls with it but one time, there was a report, unfortunately to the spouse. The married woman was sleeping with a guy she met at camp, and apparently she wasn't discreet. Her husband had a friend in camp, the guy snitched and d man stormed in there, disgraced her and dragged her out of camp. It's sad really, some people can't control themselves for 3 weeks, they are willing to destroy good relationships and their self respect for some moments of enjoyment.

Darling, true happiness can only be found in yourself. The truth is that no relationship that can be perfect. You might marry a broke man who will never give you happiness. The fact that you’re suffering may eventually make you unhappy. You may marry a rich man who makes you unhappy. Everybody must have flaws and there’s nothing like a perfect marriage. However you must priotize the last long factors that will benefit yourself and children first. Whatever you belive that to be is your choice.

I also pray that God will touch your heart so you can make decisions based on logic and not emotions. It is well. I have made all the decisions in my life that have benefited myself and my family, I hope you can do so too.
That's y we are different, good luck.

My dear it’s not necessarily about being rich, or having hundreds of millions. It’s about being financially comfortable and sustaining a lifestyle that is above mediocre. When you get married you’ll realise love doesn’t feed you, take care of the kids and bring peace in to the house. Financial security should be your number one priority young lady, please wake up! You will grow to love a man who can provide and take care of you. Stop settling for less.
My dear, life is not a straight line o, u think that marrying someone who is comfortable is so plain like black and white. U think financial security is d number one priority? Many ladies have missed their chance at happiness because they couldn't 'settle for less'. If God says u will a rich or poor person, there is nothing u can do about it. My father was not rich when he married my mother, but d case is different today. Anyway am not going to waste time trying to make u see reason with me or trying to accept ur opinion. I believe u hv heard of d saying ' different strokes for different folks' I pray u get what u want in life, because only then will u 'wake up' good luck!

OK o, everybody has what they like. My own is God should give me a man that would love me, make me happy for d rest of my life. If God says my husband would be poor, average or rich then so be it. Having a financially boyfriend is a bonus, not my number 1 priority, I rather have a broke boyfriend that would love me and never hurt me than a rich one that has nothing to offer but money. Mind u, nobody knows tomorrow, his luck can change.
