Lsofdk: moi: What about it? |
Seunnzy:Lol. I haven't checked yet. |
Lsofdk: Lol. I am a fan. Obviously you aren't. |
logica:Ok. I deduce from your post that you are pointing to progroms that happened in the past. I am not a North Hater, but I would not live in the North. Probably because I know when violence breaks out, I would be a prime target. Yes, as to your question. I cannot categorically state why they do it. So, I do not know. But, I will love to find out, if I had the resources. |
logica:I had to visit your profile before replying. Couldn't find what I was looking for though. Are you a Northerner? I would reply you this way, the same reason why Nigerians visit India, even after they know Indians are racist is the same reason Easterners go to the North. The same reason a Northerner goes to America even when he knows Americans are racist is the same reason an Easterner visits the North. In a nutshell, business and other socio-economic activities. It is not only the Northern part of the country that habours Easterners. Even if secession happens, Easterners would still be in Nigeria. There are Northerners in the East too, despite existing tribal tensions and rivalry. So, it isn't one sided. And, If you are from the North, I would advise you tone down on believing what you see here as they are largely fallacious and deceptive. The 20 or less Eastern conk tribalists here may not always representing the true reason and motive for the actions of the East. Do your own little research too. Thank you. |
Niyinficient:Thank you. While I agree the civil war has gone, and its high time we moved on. It will be difficult restoring confidence in one Nigeria at the grass root level. Believe me, difficult. I quite see your perspective though. I am still not fully convinced there is a major tribal conflict between the south west and south east. This forum can be deceptive. |
Bump. |
He left Honourably. |
Lord. I didn't know this. Lemme check |
yom2. While I agree the East is quite tribalistic and marginalization conscious. I would attribute this to the orientation given to the Igbo child about the war. You see, a baby boy who is old enough to know good and bad believes the whole country hates the East. He believes we are being exploited and Marginalised. Sadly, some, even after being educated grow up with this mentality. They are giving evidences from the civil war, with a very tribally biased recount. The truth is, the real tribalism exists only between the North and East. While the North may be more physical and bloody. The East is more discrminatory and noisy about it. I am currently researching as to the true state of this. I however do not agree, that the East rejected Buhari for any other reason other than his Tribe. The Poster you quoted who sided with the obviously mis-informed writer and called the East supporters of corruption is wrong. He committed an error of Generalization. The Eastern Politicians do not represent the Exact thought of the eastern populace. Yes, they campaigned against Buhari, but they leveraged on the hatred for The Hausa man haboured by most easterners. Not, corruption. Anyway, this Forum is filled with tribalism-motivated posts. Nobody is doing objective and progressive debate here. If they are, it is quite scarce. |
arresa: The igbos love playing victim.Good. But I fear this post wasn't at all devoid of a tribal undertone. Sorry, but asides Ben Akabueze. Who else is a south Easterner in a top position? I asked for a list if you had one. And while making the list juxtapose it with Northern appointments and judge objectively. Let me give you a quick summary of what you may come up with. Ben, chris(maybe) That's all. I refrain from mentioning Kachikwu as I would rather let sleeping dogs lie. I am not writing this as a South Easterner, I am writing from a neutral perspective. First, I think you have mis-concieved the south easterner. Forget the Tribal slurs rife here and let's examine the real world. South Easterners do not hate any other tribe asides Hausa. That's a fact. I live in the south East and I have seen Yorubas who live here and how they are treated, if for anything they are given preferential treatment. Some have learnt to speak The Igbo language. I will admit I do not have comprehensive data here. But from my real world experience. A typical south easterner has no qualms with a yoruba man. If you have visited a south eastern state and witnessed obvious tribalism, kindly state it. Again, sir, you stated the south easterner's support for PDP. You'll admit that through out the 16 years of PDP's rule, you can't produce a statistically correct data representing the number of votes PDP got and from whence. PDP got away largely due to rigging. The only time I would say the East rallied around PDP was in 2011 for Jonathan. They paid for that in the North. Then to the civil war. I did not initially mention or tell you the civil war was entirely the fault of the North. Though, I think you wrote a terribly biased summary. I would encourage you to admit truth. The case is a simple case of two tribes who fought and years later haven't been able to forgive each other. The East didn't team up with anybody to rule. Ironsi was simply the top military officer then, he would have taken over even if he was from old bendel. I wasn't born during the civil war, but I have read extensively on it. The Igbos have since then never found true favour in the eyes of the hausa man (that's the believe). And in turn the Igbo man hasn't really loved the Hausa. I am trying to really not go into the beginings and causes of the civil war, as that on its own is a huge debatable topic. But the point is, no one is playing victim. Wounds from the civil war and subsequent killings of Easterners residing in the North, years after the war has ended hasn't really being helpful. The East didn't hate Buhari because of Corruption, that's fallacious. Buhari was/is hated because of his tribe. Simple. PS: I am not tribalistic. Read and reply my post without a tribalistic mindset, let's deal facts and actual world not generalizations stemming from what's obtainable on this forum. Thank you, sir. |

sixtuschimere:Lord, place me in a position of influence and wealth, where I can help people like this break down scientific barriers. |
arresa:Hello Arresa, I am supposing you are a south westerner. I don't think south easterners hate Buhari because of corruption. Corruption hasn't helped the average man on the street and believe me, the hate for Buhari in the east is common even to that extent. Rather, I think it is because it is the believe of the south easterner that he is hated by the northerner. Since the civil war and subsequent massacres of the east indigenes. The Easterner has come to the conclusion that he is hated by the northerner, and what better way to pay back a percieved enemy if not by their own coin? The Easterner has in turn hated the Northerner. This article is wrong and largely mis-informing. I do not know why the southwest meddles into this. The real hate and tribalism is between the East and the North, I think. Has Buhari appointed a South Easterner into any major position. I would like to know, with prove. Thank you. PS: kindly respond objectively. |
jmichlins:Hello there, from my observations, not theoritical. The average igbo man is against Buhari because he is Hausa, and I do not think wounds from the civil war have healed either. The thing is, the hatred or rather anti Buhari syndrome became visible after the killing of christian/southern youth corp members in the North in 2011. I consider this a reasonable intangible reason enough to cause dislike, coupled with the fact that an average Igbo man thinks the Hausa man hates him too. Now, I do not think Buhari has rightly made appointments that show he is not biased towards the North. I would kindly request that you show me tangible or major positions occupied by a south easterner. I checked, I couldn't find. Then again, Buhari hasn't exactly been an immediate success. I am a south easterner though. So my points may seem one sided. The article writer wasn't specific. He skimmed through everything, treating only surface matters. PS: I would really appreciate a response. |
TheSuperNerd: NerdFan: Would you please continue? A little run down on the achievements of the featured awardees would be helpful too. |
I don't believe half that shit |
nairalandankrah: I live an excited life. Happy always. |
I am always excited when I go to bed at night. It simply means I have survived another day. Each day is a gift. Don't dampen it |
Is this a joke |
AZeD1: Thank you very much. |
Ryda: O my God, I am smitten. I always marvel at the aesthetics of the hand art. Kudos. |
tinsel: Thank you. By 'liquidation', I suppose you mean 'recovery? |
moi: I think the woman should be psychologically evaluated. Being a lady, I don't think this is without cause. Smartresult: |
AZeD1: Just to clarify, is it possible for the original founders of an organisation to re-possess it after it has been taken over by Amcon? If it is, what are the requirements? |
I always want to see news like this. She is making Nigeria proud and coming tops amogst her contemporaries. |
The man's story seems a little bit confusing. I won't say anything. Before tribalistic people would tear me in to shreds. |
Oh Loord. This thread didn't even get up to 50 comments. Which way Nigeria? What have we become. Barely any lady. |
SilvanusII: They clearly refered to how much was wasted on Ghost workers by the previous administration. I guess you skipped that part. What's wrong with doing their job and leaving the past and it's mistakes? I am not a wailer. I am non partisan. |
And the money is being made. |
