So the North should stop playing the role of the poor husband married and lording over a rich wife. Overall, Nigeria as currently structured is not working and must be restructured for the sake of our children. Just think for a minute : youths now prefer to put their lives on the line crossing into Europe than remain in this contraption. The middle class use their life savings to have their kids in the US because they prefer their kids to have US citizenship because everyone seems to have given up on Nigeria.

Soyinka is just making common sense. Nigeria as currently structured will ensure that Africa remains backward. Shying away from the truth for 100 years is only a waste of time because one day we will all come back to acknowledge the truth.

The states and LGA,s needs to be empowered to develop resources within their domain and the only route to empowering the states is true fiscal federalism.
