Hello Amiable Consular,
Greetings. Please a friend in need of these clarification. He is going to Mexico for his Post Graduate Degree (Temporary Resident) for three years, for his trip, he applied for USA Transit Visa, to allow him to pass through Texas to Mexico City. However, the visa application was subsequently approved.
Kindly note, it was approved for a duration of two years on a multiple entry. The inquiry, can he use same visa to enter USA on a visiting/tourist purposes? Or he can only use it on transit for the duration of two years? Since, he is going to be in Mexico for another three years.

Many thanks for your prompt response.

Hello NIV,
While appreciating your kind and prompt response here, please I would like to know, when I paid for visa application, the payment was made for B1/B2, while my visa application is actually for Transit Visa. Is it an issue or is fine? Since the both category of visa attract same fee.

Thanks.

Hello House,
Many thanks to those that created this thread and those that have contributed immensely.

Please kindly help a needy of information, have visited Ministry of Education, my Masters, BSc and O Level were all authenticated (both the original and two photocopies each, stamped and signed). However, I proceeded to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I met a Civil Defence personnel who told me that the process is between 9am - 12pm, unfurtunately, I got there around 3pm. He promised to help me out because I told him am going back to Lagos the following morning. He bill me 1000 per page, that is 3000, which am ok with. He quickly went inside and brought it back. I checked and saw the white stamp which have Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Coat of Arm inside without signature, only on the photocopies, he didn't stamp the originals. My taught is everything is ok and left back to Lagos on Thursday.
My inquiries is, hope that was done legally? The original was not stamped at MFA, the photocopies that was stamped, was not signed.

Secondly, am using the documents for my PhD in Mexico, can anyone guide me how to get it legalise/authenticate at Embassy of Mexico?

While appreciating your kind response, I seriously need this reply ASAP.

Many thanks.

Hello,
I booked/schedule appointment for each of them (my wife, and two kids) with same date with mine (primary applicant). But my main challenge is, am unable to secure same time for all. On each of the available day with the time, I saw only one (1) slot, none of the available day/time allow more than two (2) applicant. Mine (Primary applicant) is 10.00am, my daughter (dependant, under 6 years old) is 10.15am, my son (dependant, under 4 years old) is 10.30am and my wife is 10.45am. My concern, would these different timing work for us ? since we are family.

This Can be useful for Prospective Student Applicant in Mexico.

Thank you for your interest in studying in Mexico. In order to apply for a visa, kindly request an appointment through MEXITEL, the free online appointment scheduling system of the Government of Mexico. You can reach it through the following web address:

https://mexitel.sre.gob.mx/citas.webportal/

There, you will need to set up an account and choose the most suitable time for your appointment at the Consular Section of the Embassy (it’s recommended that you use the web browser Google Chrome when booking your appointment). Once you have booked your appointment, the system will generate a confirmation letter, which you must bring with you to the Embassy on the day of your appointment. Said letter will also be emailed to the email account you provided.

We strongly recommend that you request an appointment with plenty of time in advance in order to avoid any inconveniences. Please take note that, if you wish to reschedule for a more convenient date or time, or if you miss your appointment, you will need to request a new one following the same procedure.

Once your appointment has been confirmed, you will need to fulfill the following requirements. Please note that all documents are subject to verification and have to be presented in both in original and copy:

1. Please be informed that according with new Government regulations, as of January 1st, 2017, visa applications at the Embassy of Mexico will have a non-refundable naira equivalent charge of $36.00 USD that must be deposited directly to the Embassy’s Account.
2. Present personally the visa application form (attached) dully filled and signed, since your biometric information (picture and fingerprints) is required. It is not possible to present your documents via courier or a third party.
3. Present a valid passport, with at least 6 months left before its expiry date. If you are not a Nigerian citizen, you will also need to provide evidence of your legal entry into Nigeria, or of your legal residence in the country.
4. Bring with you one (1) passport sized color picture, with the following characteristics: front face, without glasses, and a white background.
5. Original and copy of the acceptance letter from an institution belonging to the National Education System (Sistema Educativo Nacional) for the intention to do studies, courses, or projects for investigative, academic or professional purposes. The letter should specify the following information:

· Applicant´s full name and nationality.
· Level, grade or course that the applicant intents to study.
· Name of the course in which it has been accepted.
· Date of start of the course and duration of it.
· Cost of the program and
· Information about the institution and its registry within Mexico’s Ministry of Education.

6. Provide evidence of adequate economic solvency to cover the study program and living expenses during the duration of the stay:

a. For studies under 6 months:

o Documents accounting for an employment, pension allowance or scholarship with a monthly income equivalent to minimum $500.00 USD, free of taxes, during the last 3 months, or,
o Investment documents or bank accounts with a monthly average balance equivalent to $750.00 USD during the last 3 months, or,
o If the applicant is less than 25 years old, his parents or legal guardian can present the evidence of economic solvency.

b. For studies of more than 6 months:

o Documents accounting for an employment, pension allowance or scholarship with a monthly income equivalent to minimum $500.00 USD, free of taxes, during the last 3 months, or,
o Investment documents or bank accounts with a monthly average balance equivalent to $5,000 USD during the last 3 months, or,
o If the applicant is less than 25 years old, his parents or legal guardian can present the evidence of economic solvency.

7. Take part in a consular interview.

Usually, if the abovementioned requirements are fulfilled and no force majeure impediment arises, in particular the availability of the internet service, the visa is issued the same day it’s requested.

Minors. Children under 18 years of age have to present their birth certificate and have to be accompanied by either both parents or their legal guardians, or present a notarized authorization from them to travel to Mexico (applies also for minors travelling alone). When travelling with single parents, widows or divorcees, the corresponding documents should be presented.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us through the email embnigeria@sre.gob.mx, or to the phone (+234) 9462-0630. The opening hours are Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00 hours. For visa applications, the schedule is from Monday to Wednesday, from 09:00 to 15:00 hours.

Hello House,
Your assistance on here is prompt and awesome, more grease to your elbow.
I have a question, that I would be so happy if swift reaction can be given;
I applied for Canadian Visiting Visa like a month ago, but unfortunately, the visa was deny based on a reason, so painful, they said I didn't answer the application form truthfully, that, I answer No to a question which asked if have been deny a visa before. And sincerely, it was a mistake, not intentional. My inquiry, wish to re apply immediately, because the refusal letter gave room for that. So, want to ask the guru in the house, should I do Sworn Affidavit to explain my self about the mistake? Please kindly assist.

Secondly, should I re apply immediately or I should give some time? My visiting period is June ending.

Thirdly, my International Passport is expiring December 2017, should I renew it before I re apply or I should go ahead.

Many Thanks.

Hello AbujaNIV,
Your assistance on here is prompt and awesome, more grease to your elbow.
I have a question, that I would be so happy if swift reaction can be given;
I hold my second degree in Social Work (Professional Qualification) from one of the University in Nigeria, though can't pursue further qualification (PhD) with it, which I so much cherish to have. Subsequently, I applied for Masters in Social Work in one of the recognise University in USA, which the admission has been granted, resumption is Summer 2017. My inquiry, will having another qualification from same degree I hold have a negative impact on my visa application?
Secondly, my International Passport will expire in November 2017, my appointment with US Embassy is 5th May 2017, can I still make use of the same passport to process the visa or I should renew it before I go for interview? Note Please: Nigeria Government will allow a renewal of International Passport if it's less than six months before expiration.

Many Thanks.

God bless.

Hello Abuja NIV,
While appreciating your kind response to this forum members challenges/obstacles accurately, I wish mine is not exceptional.

I will like to inquire, I have a B1/B2 Visa valid till 2018, am planning and willing to apply for F1 Visa in 2016 for my Master's Degree in the State, my question is this, if F1 visa granted, would my B1/B2 Visa cancel or still valid?

Secondly, when should I pay for SEVIS since the resumption date is June 2017, so, I can prepare early enough.

Respectfully.

Hi VO, job well done, we truly appreciate your kind response. My enquiry, please I would love to know, I (the husband) was granted a visa to attend a wedding in the State, when I got to my Uncle in-law house, he was very worried and feel concern that why I didn't come with my wife and my two lovely kids, that he would love to see then, coz he has never visit Nigeria over five (5) years.
He later concluded to send an invitation for us, so, myself, my wife and the two kids can come to celebrate the Xmas and New Year celebration with with him and his family.
My concern, did I need to follow my family to embassy on the day of their appointment? Since I still have a valid visa.
Secondly, like what month is best for me to secure their appointment with the embassy? Can I get the visa like four (4) or five (5) months before the proposed date?

While thanking you for your usual cooperation.
