justwise:

A lot of people have given you a very honest advice, you made a mistake by denying that you have someone in the UK, you should have said yes and point out that you will not be staying with them.
You will not be doing your next visa application any good if you stayed more than 6 days as you indicated. Stick to your original plan
justwise I agree with everything you said except the 6days stay. my first application I said I would stay 10 days bt my plans changed and I stayed 2 months. after which I returned to nigeria. I applied for a new visa and I got it too. so provided you dont exceed 6months u can stay as long as you want

hey guys, morning all, you have no idea how many problems get solved here, i got my visa reading and following advices given on this forum. keep up the good job.

i have a concern, in my visa application i stated that i knew no one in the UK, but the truth is i have two brothers, both british citizens. the reason i denied knowing anyone was because we were not in good terms and i went through the application process without involving them.

After getting the visa, my brother called and we kinda settled after some family meetings etc..

problem now is, one of my brothers insists i stay with him for a couple of days and offered to pick me up at the airport.
i should also add that i changed my travel plans as i initially planned to stay for 6 days, but now will be staying for a month.

told him about the issue of not knowing anyone in the UK, but he said it doesnt matter and that i should tell them at the POE that i have 2 brothers.

please guys, what do you think as i initially insisted on sticking with my initial hotel reservation, but its starting to look like i still have grudges and that is why i dont want to stay with him and i dont want to start another family fight....lol

i know there's so much "unnecessary" personal information here, but i just thought i should make you understand my situation.

my question ia would it affect me if i state at the POE that i have brothers having earlier stated in my application form that i dont,
is it true that it doesnt matter as my brother said?

please i need your urgent responses..justwise, vicjustice, worry, everybody..

thanks a lot
stick to your story else you will be deported. Dont contradict whay you have earlier said. You can still stay as long as you like once you enter the country provided its within the visa validity period. If they know you gave false information to get the visa, you will be deported.

Health / Re: Nigeria "Mourns" Dr Adadevoh As Disdain for Nigerian Doctors Escalates by princenonny(m): 7:01pm On Aug 22, 2014
9jalyte: My friend, that is trash! When you were entering the medical school, was there anything about the hazards of medical practice that was hidden from you. You decided to go to take up the challenges, stop acting as if you just realize that you will deal with infectious diseases after you took your oath. For the records, among those directly involved in managing patients, the Drs are among the least exposed to hazard. In assessing that, look at the parameters used 1. Contact with patients 2. contact with body fluids, 3. contact with chemical or radiation/radioactive/biohazards.
The Drs and Nurses have contact with patients and in some occasions, the body fluid. The medical lab scientists are exposed to patients, body fluids, chemicals and biological hazards. The pharmacists are exposed to patients and pharmaceutical waste (just google the health impact of pharmaceutical wastes), the radiologist/radiographers are exposed to patients and radiation. Looking at this, who do you think should earn more in hazard allowance. And this days, we talk about evidence based policy, can you give us reference/evidence that Drs have more Nosocomial infection than other health professionals, or other occupational health disadvantage more than the others. Or are you driven by your fragile ego that even though the others are more exposed, the have to earn less, because you are the boss. Also, the peasant working as hospital waste management officer, have you talked about them?

And leaving the Medical profession now to others. The soldier has more risk associated to his profession more than Dr, and they are playing great role, in fact they have contributed more to saving lives than some of the Drs. How much are they paid, same with police men, fire fighters etc. The Lawyers, who are exposed to possible attacks by criminal, and gangs, how much is their risk allowance. Even the clergy has the risk attached to theirs. You see, it is time to really evaluate again why you joined medical profession, and save us this your constant cry of "more money or...."
it is very easy to spot a lab rat.....ewu
Politics / Re: FG Moves To Privatise Hospitals by princenonny(m): 8:16am On Jul 29, 2014
Its funny the way johesu rats have invaded this thread spewing all manner of rubbish thinking this will be detrimental to doctors. Infact johesu dreads privatisation and it will mark the death of johesu. Pharmacists would be slashed n most go into research n private sector, all those auxiliary and non-graduate nurses will be sacked and the hostile bsc and hnd nurses will behave themselves and start putting up more hours and care more for patients instead of sitting in their bay n gossiping while the lab rats will be the worst hit. D hematology and chem path unit will b taken over by auto analysers and other diagnostic equipment will the rest will seek greener pastures where destiny takes them. As for physiotherapist and radiographers, u all will return to your humble selves even though u will go the way of the lab rats. Then finally the medical records will be replaced by computers and technology while the inconsequential porters will all be sacked n their jobs contracted

Only less than 10% of drs will lose their jobs bt the rest retained and consultants in multiple institutions will free some for younger generation.

In the end, we know who the leader of the health sector is.

So you are even less than a year experienced as a doctor ceteris paribus?

No wonder you were inclined to Jamb arguments.

Age does not change a soul. If you could be hacking PS3 less than 24 months ago? You can as well pass of fake drugs.

You now earn more pittance and you feel you have arrived?

A lot of nairalanders have been spending your monthly salary on China trips even before you finished from med school.

If I am to use greys anatomy to judge. Its an American series. And some other foreign real life dramas of doctors working in the e.r. That I watch in TV, I have never seen anyone on high heels. Never seen anyone wiv make up. Their hair is packed and proper. Maybe the consultants have time to do all that. But not a surgeon or the ones attending to people in the emergency ward.
a dr can wear anything he or she wants provided they dress smartly. Make ups, high heels make u look smart and pretty. If u want to see primitive dressing, visit a herbalist next time ur sick. I tink dey will connect better with u. Connection is key in patient - care giver relationship.

You are just a proud and ill-mannered doctor. You think you are brilliant, I will challenge you to a live quiz recorded and hosted on YouTube and I guarantee you that I will beat you hands down.

You choose the topics apart from health and sports and I arrange the venue.

Wisdom is not only about interpreting the skill learnt via education. How you interact with the society is also important.

Since you are a doctor, everyone must worship you? At best you are a copy doctor who merely listens to symptoms and administer possible solutions. YOU ARE NOT GOD

you want a debate yet u say am nt brillant and I am a copy dr. Well I can see u are a social misfit dats y u tink knowing about sports, health and 'interactions in d society' is all dat matters to be cool. Talk to me wen u buy jamb form ok. We are not intellectual mates

You that have knowledge, is a doctor who is suppose to insert needle in a human being be shaking? I don't care or want to no the terminologies. When you are dealing wiv human lives u are meant to be very professional. And point of correction she did not call any senior doctor. My mum being an ex staff and the fact that I still no some old doctors. They were the ones who took over my mum. When she was in the ward, they came to check on her and followed her up. A lot of people are not that lucky. Many of this young Doctors are not professional. In their way of life, dressing, manners etc. When I was growing up in luth I saw how doctors work hard. They had no time to dress and paint nails. They no what their work entails. They were like semi-gods wiv beautiful characters. When u see them uu no them. I can never allow a doctor wiv high heel operate on me. They lack experience and they do not value human life. Many of the male young Doctors I no in luth right now smoke weed. The prestige and the name it carries is more important than the oath. So whether u agree or do not agree. The health sector plus the medical practitioners are not doing a good job.
so u want drs to keep dressing primitively and old fashioned b4 u will endorse them. Please grow up we are in the 21st century. Gone are d days wen drs just sit around n watch d world evolve around dem. 21st century drs are everywhere be it in business, politics, entertainment and sports too. Please change d perception u have about drs. We are actually cooler than ppl know
