Omooba Dotun Babayemi has asserted that efforts at ensuring that Osun State becomes one of the best states in Nigeria as envisioned by the founding fathers, should be the task for its indigenes and residents.

Babayemi also congratulated the Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the PDP and the people of the state on the decision of the apex court on the pre election case.

"I want to wish the Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the PDP and the good people of Osun the very best as a new administration under the PDP prepares to berth in Osun. I pray it will bring about the long awaited turn around to the state and its people" he prayed

Babayemi said this while reacting to the Thursday ruling of the Supreme Court which dismissed his case on technical grounds in the suit where he sought to authenticate his candidature as the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for the July 16 governorship election.

In a statement issued and personally signed by him, the Gbongan-born Prince maintained that Osun State was a common heritage of all concerned which should be cherished, stressing, “the efforts at taking Osun to the next level should be a task for all"

On the just concluded case at the Supreme Court, Babayemi said the exploration of the legal process was good for the country's democracy, adding,"For us, the legal journey was a long walk and worthwhile with no iota of regret. The kernel of our case at the Supreme Court was not reviewed as it was decided on technical grounds. Above all, no regrets"

To this effect, he gave kudos to his legal team, especially Barrister Edmund Biromoini, for the efforts and time invested into the litigation process while it lasted.

Babayemi thanked leaders of the party, his supporters, party members and the people of the state for standing solidly behind him throughout the struggle.

"From the depth of my heart, I want to thank everyone for their wonderful support in various forms. I'm indeed very grateful. I want to plead that we ensure that nothing breaks our resolve at making sure that Osun never lags behind developmentally" he advised

Meanwhile, Babayemi has called on PDP members and the people of the state to continue to support things that would always aid the growth of the state, appealing as well that they should continue to be law-abiding.

Court Nullifies Babayemi's Expulsion from PDP

An Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo has nullified and reversed the expulsion of Omooba Dotun Babayemi from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State .

Besides, the court warned the party and its agents against taking actions contrary to this order till the substantive suit is determined.

Few days ago, some members of the PDP led by one Bukayo Ogunleye from Babayemi's Otun Balogun Ward 2 in Gbongan, his hometown had announced his expulsion from the party.

In a counter move on Monday, the Otun Balogun Ward 2 Executive Committee while addressing the press through Honourable Munurudeen Adekunle, nullified the purported expulsion and at the same time announced the suspension of those behind the action.

However on Tuesday,the State High Court sitting in Osogbo and presided over by Justice Jide Falola, ruled against the PDP from expelling Babayemi from the party pending the determination of the substantive suit.

In the suit HOS/M.212/2022 between Babayemi, PDP, INEC, Bukayo Ogunleye and nine others, an order of interim mandatory injunction was sought by the plaintiff .

In the like manner, it seeks to restrain the defendants/respondents or their agents from carrying out their purported action as captured in the press conference addressed by some members of the party in Otun Balogun Ward 2 Gbongan.

Equally, the plaintiff sought and was granted a mandatory interim injunction to restrain the defendants/ respondents or their agents from taking any further steps pending the determination of the originating summons and to this effect prayed the court to maintain the status quo until the final determination of the suit.

In its ruling, Justice Falola maintained that going by the Justice Adeyinka Aderibigbe's pronouncements in the suit HIJ/6/2022 as instituted by Mr Ademola Adedokun and 20 others on behalf of themselves and Ward Executive officers elected on 25th September, 2021 in the Ward election supervised by the then State PDP Chairman,Hon Olasoji Adagunodo, the persons that undertook the expulsion of Babayemi were ordinary members of the party and as such, impostors.

[b]"In the Press Release by those that purportedly expelled the applicant(exhibit EB11),it was disclosed and or admitted that the so called query that led to the expulsion of the applicant was not served on him personally but allegedly on a private guard in his residence"

"By exhibit EB 12, the 11th and 12th defendants, issued the communique which nullified the purported expulsion of the applicant, are insisting that they are the authentic Ward Executive as pronounced by the court of competent jurisdiction , that is exhibits EB 5 and EB 6. They have also issued query on 3rd-10th respondents that purportedly expelled the Applicant.

According to Justice Falola, the expulsion of Babayemi was questionable; stressing," The court is there to intervene where there is serious dispute such as we have here. In effect, I find merit in the Motion Exparte for Order of Mandatory Interim Injunction especially as disposed to in paragraphs 4 I,j,k,l,m,n,ff, hh,ll,jj,kk,ll and nn of the affidavit in support. The party has broken into factions in Otun Balogun Ward 2 Gbongan. Based on the above premise, I hereby accede to the prayers of the Applicant"[/b]

To this effect,"the Court has decided to reverse and put in abeyance, the purported expulsion of Babayemi, warning that,1st-10 Defendants/Respondents shall suspend all steps taken or are planning to take with a view to giving effect to the purported expulsion of the plaintiff/Applicant, and shall not embark on any punitive against the plaintiff/ Applicant"

Justice Falola further directed that the rights and privileges of Babayemi be restored in the interim as a full fledged member of the PDP in Otun Balogun Ward 2, Gbongan.

Dotun Babayemi's Purported Expulsion: Perpetrators are fake, says authentic Ward Excos

The executive committee members of Peoples Democratic Party in Ward 2, Otun Balogun, Gbongan, headquarters of Ayedaade Local Government Council Area of Osun State has nullified the expulsion of a governorship aspirant in the party, Omooba Dotun Babayemi over alleged anti-party activities, disclosing that those who claimed to be executive members of the ward and had last week announced the expulsion of Omooba Dotun Babayemi were illegal and not recognised by the law.

Addressing a press conference at PDP Local Government Secretariat, Oke Church, Gbongan, the Secretary of PDP Ward 02, Otun Balogun, Adekunle Nurudeen, described Babayemi’s sack as a facade and nullity, adding that the allegations of anti-party activities levelled against the gubernatorial aspirant were mere fabrications.

The secretary who was surrounded by other exco members at the press conference stated:
“As a result of unfolding scenario within our great party, PDP, especially as it concerns our Ward, Otun Balogun Ward 2, where some external forces have surreptitiously crept in with a view to unsettling us through their overt and covert sinister moves, we are compelled to note the following;

“That the purported expulsion of Omooba Dotun Babayemi, the torchbearer of the PDP in Osun by some members of the party illegally holding themselves out as Ward Executives in this Ward, especially having been compromised by some external forces, is a facade and a nullity.

"That it is only a valid and duly-elected Ward Executives that can commence a Disciplinary process by virtue of Section 57 of the Peoples Democratic Party Constitution, 2017 as amended.

“That the persons who claimed to be the Ward 2 Executive Committee upon which they purportedly carried out the alleged expulsion of Omooba Dotun Babayemi, usurped the powers of the Ward 2 Executive Committee.

“That the authentic and valid Ward 2 Executive Committee of the Party was confirmed by a valid and subsisting Court Order on the 3rd of March,2022 and subsequently re-affirmed on the 10th of March,2022.

“That the following ordinary PDP members from Ward 2,namely; Chief Julius Awodeji, Hon Isiaka Rabiu, Bukayo Ogunleye and Lekan Adegbenle etc, who purportedly expelled Omooba Dotun Babayemi as Ward 2 Executive Committee, were not the duly-elected Ward 2 Executive who were recognized and authenticated by a court of competent jurisdiction on the 3rd of March,2022 and re-affirmed on the 10th of March,2022 in Suit No: HIJ/6/2022.
“That the said purported Disciplinary Proceedings and the subsequent expulsion of Omooba Dotun Babayemi by persons not recognised by the PDP Constitution and valid court order is the greatest fraud and albeit void ab initio and of no legal consequences.

“That as a result, the whole exercise was procedurally wrong as the Constitution of party was flagrantly abused and not adhered to.

“That to this effect, all the aforementioned PDP members who partook in this illegal charade are hereby suspended from the party pending the constitution of a Disciplinary Committee to evaluate their actions and that necessary steps in line with the Constitution of our great party PDP, are taken.

“That allegations of anti-party activities levelled against Omooba Dotun Babayemi are mere fabrications and imaginations of his traducers just to achieve their sinister motives.

“That we thank and commend Omooba Dotun Babayemi for working relentlessly for the victory of the party at the last governorship election held on the 16th of July, 2022 and for his endless investment in the party.

“That to this end, all members and executive of the party at Otun Balogun Ward 2 do reiterate our unalloyed support and loyalty to Omooba Dotun Babayemi for all actions he has taken so far to make the PDP a great party in Osun state.

“Above all, we implore all members of our party to continue to be law-abiding by ensuring that peace prevails at all times in Ayedaade PDP and the state at large."

Speaking after the conference, a party leader in Ward 3, Gbongan, Mr Adelani Ajanaku, said the removal of Omooba Babayemi was a misplaced decision which took many party faithful aback.

A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has raised the alarm that some people are after his life because of his efforts at seeking redress at the court of law.

Babayemi who is currently seeking to get justice as regards the controversy surrounding who the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the party is in the state, wondered why politics could be taken to such despicable level.

In a save-my-soul message issued by his Media Office on Wednesday and made available to journalists, he admonished that politics should be played without coercion or harassments.

"Before and after the July 16 governorship election in Osun, I have received a number of voice notes;some laced with vituperation and different insults being hauled at me while some are outright threat to my life. I can't fathom why some people have chosen this dangerous and uncivilized lane" he said.

Babayemi who warned those behind such unholy acts to desist, maintained that he would never be cowed in his resolve at seeking justice at any level of opportunity offered by legal entitlements.

"Those sending threatening voice notes and their sponsors have failed.No matter how, the course of justice can not be circumvented through such crude means.Besides,nobody can intimidate me" he maintained

Consequent upon the judgement of Federal Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, Ondo State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi who is seeking the validation of his candidature as the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has asserted that the judgement was being evaluated with a view to knowing the next line of action to take.

Babayemi had sued the PDP, INEC and Senator Ademola Adeleke on who flies the flag of the party as its standard bearer in the state governorship election.

But in its ruling on Wednesday, the appellate court in Akure dismissed Babayemi's case on technical grounds.

"We are evaluating all available options and shall act in the best interest of our people" the PDP stalwart insisted

Babayemi stressed further that taking this route became necessary in view of the circumstances that surrounded the party's affairs in the state in the last few years.

"Rest assured that for the common good of our party and the people of the state, we shall take a decision about the best way forward, including a possible appeal at the Supreme Court which is highest court of the land" he said

Osun 2022:Babayemi Urges PDP Members,Supporters to Commence House-to-House Campaigns

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has directed his supporters across the 332 wards in the state to embark on massive house-to-house campaigns as a way of further creating awareness for the party in next month's gubernatorial election in the state.

Equally,Babayemi enjoined PDP members across the state to swing into action by evolving ways of entrenching the party in all areas of the state so as to ensure the victory of the party at the July 16 governorship election.

This approach, he noted that when combined with others, would not only put the PDP in a better stead,but would also propel its victory at the election.

The Gbongan-born politician made these known in a statement issued by his Media Office and made available to journalists on Monday.

"We want to implore all our supporters and PDP members across Osun State to commence man-to-man and house-to-house campaigns so as to further firmly establish our party, especially as we are preparing to go into the election" he urged

Babayemi who made the clarifications in Osogbo on Thursday while addressing his supporters and members of the party across the 30 local government areas of the state at a stakeholders meeting,vowed to continue to work vigorously for the success of the PDP, especially for the state governorship election scheduled for July 16.

He said his insistence on the propriety of his governorship ambition in the PDP, was borne out of his conviction that litigations remain one of the best channels of resolving disputes.

"Besides,it will help in deepening and strengthening the constitutionality of our democracy through different political and legal developments.Also through these frameworks, the horizon of our democracy has continued to be widened for the betterment of all us and those to come" he asserted

He added that he has never thought of defecting from the PDP to any other political party,assuring that he would work assiduously for the success of the party in the state before, during and after the election, imploring his supporters to do same.

"It's funny that people come up with different political permutations and conspiracy theory to suit their whim and caprices.For me and my people,we remain strongly in PDP and it's for good. This I can assure you" Babayemi further maintained.

He noted that despite some teething challenges within the party in the state,he was sure that the PDP would coast home to victory at the coming polls.

"So anybody either doing some wuruwuru calculations or permutations that we shall leave the PDP, has totally missed the point. Because we're firmly rooted in the party and as such,we are not moving an inch out of it.More importantly,we have not deviated from our course and the legitimate path we have chosen; that, we're pursuing and it will be glorious at the end" Babayemi asserted.

A Board of Trustee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, has assured that elders of the party were already meeting in a bid to resolve the crisis rocking the Osun State PDP.

While commending the Omooba Dotun Babayemi group for steps taken towards ensuring that the party wins the coming gubernatorial election, Oyedokun said the winner-takes-all attitude of some people remains the challenge to overcome towards true reconciliation.

He stated these on Monday while featuring on a live audience participatory phone-in programme tagged;Oro Oselu on Rave FM Radio, Osogbo.

"We the elders are already working round the clock in our quest at ending the crisis affecting our party in Osun State. Even at that, no one would blame the Omooba Dotun Babayemi group for legitimately insisting on their rights.They have truly shown that they are no fools that could be ridden roughshod" said Oyedokun

The party chieftain also warned proverbially that no bird could ever fly with a wing.

The Inisa-born politician in Odo-Otin Local Government area of the state, while assuring that that the party would win the coming polls, implored everyone to remain calm as everything would be sorted out in due course.

"Equally, I want to passionately appeal to everyone not to defect to other parties because of the developments within our party, the PDP. We shall surely overcome this phase" he assured

*Osun PDP:Caretaker Committee Chairman Has Chased Us Away- Committee Members*

There seems to be no end to the crisis rocking the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as two state Caretaker Committee members of the party, Alhaji Rasaq Oyelami and Engr Adetoye Ogungboyega, have accused the Chairman of the Committee,Dr Adekunle Akindele of chasing them away from the party secretariat.

It is recalled that at the expiration of the state executive of the party, the Iyorchia Ayu led leadership of the party, put in place a 7-man Committee which comprised those from Omooba Dotun Babayemi and Senator Ademola Adeleke's groups headed by Dr Adekunle Akindele that will steer the ship of the party for three months before a new executive is elected.

However,in a statement jointly signed by Oyelami and Ogungboyega,they feared the committee put in place by the national leadership of the party, might be on a mission to ensure the final burial of PDP in the state.

"Last Saturday, a day to the commencement of our party's primaries, the two of us met with the Chairman and Secretary of the Committee in company of Omooba Dotun Babayemi.It was there we agreed to converge on the party secretariat for the supervision and distribution of election materials for the primaries, the next day being Sunday.We all agreed to be at the party secretariat by 8 am" they said.

Accordingly, the duo said they were at the secretariat as agreed to but lamented that the Chairman,Secretary and other members of the committee from the Adeleke group did not show up until around 3.30pm.

"In between and while waiting endlessly for them,we were intermittently calling and at the same time, sending text messages to them to no avail. This made the two of us to wait for over 8 hours" they decried

"Contrary to the spirit of friendship and what was agreed to the previous day when the Chairman met the two of us,he said we should leave the party secretariat when he and others eventually showed up around 3.30pm.The Chairman said he was an administrator and that he knew no one except Ademola Adeleke because that was the instructions given to him from the party headquarters in Abuja" they added

While further accusing Akindele of being segregative in his actions within the party, they said he vowed never to allow them have access to the party secretariat until probably after the national convention of the party when everything must have been wrapped up. We waited for this long because we thought he and his cohort would have a rethink in the true spirit of friendship and reconciliation which we are after. Alas, that's not to be as they are poised on a trip of self-destruct"

The aggrieved caretaker members stressed further that"In the light of the above,we have related what we went through to some of our leaders such as the former governor of the state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Omooba Dotun Babayemi, our gubernatorial candidate and others"

Oyelami and Ogungboyega warned that unless stakeholders and leadership of the party caution the Caretaker Committee Chairman, the party might be heading for the precipice; stressing, "his activities are totally against the spirit of reconciliation.Every of the committee's action spells destruction for the party. Maybe they are doing this because they are not from our state. Genuine members of the party and the generality of the people of the state, are the ones feeling the heat"

Omooba Dotun Babayemi Campaign Organization has cautioned that the Osun State governorship election scheduled for July 16 this year, should be devoid of thuggery and violence that could trigger destruction of lives and property.

Babayemi Campaign Organization's admonition,is coming on the heels attack on some journalists by some hoodlums on Monday in Gbongan, Ayedaade Local Government area of the state.

In a statement which was made available to newsmen on Tuesday, the campaign organization frowned at the development which it warned if not nipped in the bud, could become the order of the day throughout the election period.

"To us, this is indeed an omnious sign which could spell doom for the efforts of everyone in the state at enthroning a new administration.Stakeholders and our security agencies must rise to the occasion to ensure that this dreadful cancer-like development is not allowed to spike" it warned.


According to the outfit,violence and related ugly developments, usually have negative effect on any electoral process and its outcome, advising that concerted effort must be made to shun violence and negative tendencies

The organization further advised that each party must be allowed to sell itself to the people of the state through programmes and actions set to be achieved without any molestation from any quarter.

To this end, while urging political parties to call their supporters to order in this regard, it implored PDP members across the state to be law-abiding before, during and after the election.

The campaign organisation of Osun PDP Governorship candidate, Omooba Dotun Babayemi has asserted that its major concern and focus is how the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would win the forthcoming gubernatorial election slated for July 16, in the state.

The campaign organization made this known against the background of the meeting held with the 7-man Reconciliation Committee led by Mr Eyitayo Jegede SAN by the Omooba Dotun Babayemi and Senator Ademola Adeleke groups

In a statement, the organization stressed that it was only peace and unity that could guarantee the success of the party at the coming polls.

"While commending the Reconciliation Committee,we want to emphasize that without the desired peace,nothing could be achieved.Though not everything brought to the table came through, we were at least, able to move some grounds. This signposts some good omen for us in Osun PDP" the campaign organization said

Meanwhile, the organization has urged members of the party to continue to work assiduously for the victory at the governorship election scheduled for July 16, this year.

Osun PDP: Judicial Pronouncements and wishful thinking - Babayemi Media Aide

Barrister Edmund Biriomoni, Counsel to Omooba Dotun Babayemi, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has asserted that the judgement of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja which seeks to invalidate the governorship primary that produced the Gbongan-born Prince as one that cannot achieve what it seeks to, describing it is an abuse of court process.

Biriomoni maintained that the judgement was obtained by fraud as material facts were not placed before the Court,noting that the said judgement did not set aside the primaries conducted at WOCDIF neither did it set-aside and/ or nullify the candidature of Omooba Dotun Babayemi as the candidate of the PDP for Osun State Gubernatorial Election scheduled for July 16, 2022.

The Counsel who made the clarifications while speaking with newsmen in Osogbo, said the Judge was not aware that there were valid court orders that affected and determined the party primaries in state.

"The matters for determination here are : “Does the party have the power to nominate candidates and the NEC of PDP have the right to approve guidelines for the conduct of primaries? The answer is an absolute yes where such primaries were conducted within the laid down electoral law and subsisting valid court orders/ judgment which are binding on parties"

Continuing, Biriomoni added that "The questions for determination here are elementary and pedestrian. The reliefs sought are more embarrassing as same are futile academic exercises without achieving their desired goals. The suit was filed on the 14th of March, 2022 shortly after the High Court on the 10th of March, 2022 nullified the primaries conducted at stadium and affirmed the primaries conducted at WOCDIF. This judgement did not address nor set aside our primaries"

According to him, the judgement did not affect the case currently being pursued at the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, adding that the judiciary would determine the rightful gubernatorial candidate of the PDP after reviewing the complete facts of the cases at hand.

"This judgement does not affect our case presently at the Federal High Court Osogbo and would be overturned on appeal.We're continuing with our case without any form of distraction whatsoever.Matters for determination are completely different; we shall do whatever it is worth to appeal the said judgment in order to set it aside at the Court of Appeal, Abuja on ground of obtaining the said judgment by fraud. They deliberately failed to disclose material facts before the court which includes the subsisting court orders and judgment which validated the party primaries at WOCDIF that produced Omooba Dotun Babayemi as the Candidate of the party for the Osun State Gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on the 16th of July,2022." he said.

Biriomoni assured that nothing would distract Babayemi and the people of the state who are expectant of a new dawn in Osun from reaching the desired point of success as this recent action clearly shows the desperation which definitely has ended in futility. The period of impunity by political parties is over and the era of the rule of law has come to stay with grave consequences if disregarded or disobeyed.

In a statement issued by his Media Office,he urged that the lessons learnt during the period must be brought to bear at individual and the national existence of the nation so as to ensure realization of the needed all-round developments.

"It gladdens one's heart at this point in time, particularly when at almost the same time, lent and ramadan exercises coincided.For us in Osun, it's a pointer to divine guidance and grace on the task of electing a new helmsman for our dear state. We must not relent in our prayers for the best at the polls slated for July 16, this year" he said

Babayemi assured that the PDP would sail through at the coming election, appealing to people of the state to continue to support the party physically and spiritually.

As you are aware, it is a day of sober reflection during which workers and pensioners take stock on how they fared in the past and reflect on the future. Also, it's rather disheartening to note that the civil service which is the engine room and pride of any government in the past, has been bastardized in Osun State through bad governance, lack of incentives to civil servants, shabby treatment to workers, job insecurity and poor treatments of old and fragile pensioners, who are denied their rights, claims and entitlements, to mention but a few.

To buttress this point for instance, please permit me to recall that pensioners under the Defined Benefits Scheme I.e non- Contributory Pensioners have hitherto, not been granted the privilege to enjoy harmonisation of pensions approved and granted by the Federal Government in 2014 and 2019 effective in July, 2014 and April, 2018 respectively.

The last harmonisation of pensions enjoyed was in 2007 as approved by the Olagunsoye Oyinlola PDP-led administration.This means that pensioners in the state have been earning the same poor pension every month in the past fifteen years under the All Progressives Congress(APC) government of both former and present governors, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Alh Gboyega Oyetola respectively.

Whereas, other States have implemented the same pension circulars authorising the two pension increments for their pensioners, Osun State Government's action under the APC, is in contravention and flagrant disobedience to Section 173,subsection 3 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which provides for upward review of pensions every five years.The outstanding arrears of 142% harmonisation and 30 months half salaries and pensions are also unsettled till date.

Workers have not been spared of shabby treatments by the two administrations of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State since 2010,particularly in the areas of paper promotions to workers without being cash-backed, non-remitance of cooperative and other deductions, 30 months half salaries et.c.

Osun State Government of All Progressives Congress led administration, is oblivious of the fact that salaries and pensions fall within the constitutional rights of both workers and pensioners and should not be tampered with.The attitude of Osun State Government in this regard, is sacrilegious and runs counter to the tenets of democracy.

The questions that now beg for answers are: (I) For how long shall both workers and pensioners continue to swallow the bitter pills being forced into the their throats by APC?
(Ii) Do workers and pensioners realise that they have the needed political clout to effect the removal of any political impediment hampering their progress?

The answers to these questions are not far-fetched.The solution is at your doorstep.It is your voting strength that you need to rightly deploy, employ your capability to mobilise others to vote and give massive support to the PDP to roundly win the forthcoming governorship election of July 16, 2022. The PDP will correct the anomalies and bring back the old glory to the civil and public service.The state and its people shall witness all-round developments.

Some of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee, Alhaji Rasaq Oyelami (aka KK) and Engr Adetoye Ogungboyega, have debunked the claims in some circles that they were present at the inauguration of Ademola Adeleke's campaign committee.

In a release signed by Oyelami and Ogungboyega, the duo described the claims as the figment of imagination of those behind the rumour, admonishing that such was capable of further polarising the party.

"For God's sake,why are these people seeking people like us to legitimatize their illegality? We are cock sure they recorded the event,we therefore challenge them to show it to the world, especially where we featured.This is purely a cooked up story from the pit of hell" they decried

Oyelami and Ogungboyega who warned the Adeleke group to desist from name-dropping, added that what the party needed was how to ensure that all hands were on deck with a view to achieving success at the polls for the good of the people of the state.

"All these won't take us to no destination. What we need is sincere,genuine and transparent process in whatever we do that can lead us to the route of victory. That's what we feel should be the concern of whoever truly is desirous of the progress of the party, especially as we move closer to the July 16 gubernatorial election in the state" added the Caretaker Committee members.

*Ijesa South Fed Constituency:PDP Raises Alarm over APC's Antics*

A leading aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)into Federal House of Representatives in Ijesa South Federal Constituency,Hon Sanya Omirin,has raised the alarm over surreptitious moves by the All Progressive Congress (APC) administration in the state to harass and intimidate members of the PDP in the zone.

Omirin,a former Federal Commissioner,Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission during Goodluck Jonathan's administration,lamented that the unsavory development being orchestrated by the ruling party,was a deliberate ploy to weaken the resolve of the PDP members in the zone towards the coming polls in the state.

In a statement released to the media by Omirin who was one of the governorship aspirants of the PDP who withdrew shortly before the gubernatorial primary of the party, accused the ruling party of plans to incriminate him in connection with a fracas that broke out during APC's ward congress.

"The APC agents in my zone are trying to frame me and some members of PDP up over an incident we knew nothing about.They are using the unfortunate incident as a smokescreen to get at us, the PDP members. I can assure them that they have failed as no one can intimidate us" he said.

While urging those orchestrating the harassments of members of the PDP, to allow the Police and other related security agencies to do their jobs,Omirin further accused the APC of politicising the matter, a development he added,has led to the arrest of many innocent people from the zone.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives aspirants has appealed to PDP members in the Federal Constituency to remain calm and not to take laws into their hands on account of the ongoing persecutions and harassments they are currently experiencing.

*Osun PDP: Babayemi Lambasts Removed Caretaker Chair*

Omooba Dotun Babayemi Campaign Organization has lampooned one Dr Adekunle Akindele who is parading himself as the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) for disparaging the party gubernatorial candidate, Omooba Dotun Babayemi.

Akindele had during a live phone-in programme tagged:'Politics' hosted by Fresh FM radio station, Osogbo, on Friday, described Babayemi as an impostor for insisting on his mandate.

However reacting to the development, the governorship candidate's campaign organization,frowned at the reckless use of words by someone who claimed to be neutral in the misunderstanding within the party

In a statement by the campaign organization,it described the self acclaimed Chairman of the state Caretaker Committee of the party as the real impostor.

"Ordinarily,we would not have dignified him with any response but for the need to clear some lines.Between Babayemi who is exploring legal means to set records straight in Osun PDP and Akindele who is parading himself as Chairman of Caretaker Committee against the resolution of the National Working Committee of the party,who is an impostor? the organization demanded.

"At the 550th meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of Wednesday, April 13,2022, Dr Adekunle Akindele and Otunba Femi Carena who had hitherto been named as the Chairman and Secretary respectively of the Osun State PDP Caretaker Committee,were removed"

The PDP in its resolve to put in place a more acceptable and respectable committee,set up a four-man NWC members to shop for new Caretaker Committee members for Osun PDP.

Those saddled with the responsibility include the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu,National Vice Chairman (Southeast), Dr Ali Odefa,National Vice Chairman (Northwest), Dr Aminu Abdulahi and National Financial Secretary. Hon Danel Woyengikuro

The four man committee was mandated to submit the names of those that would replace Adekunle Akindele's committee for the NWC approval at its next meeting slated for Wednesday, 20th,2022.

"So who's now the impostor? Why is Adekunle Akindele and his co-travellers in haste to further unsettle the already troubled waters of our party; to appeal to whose bidding?

The campaign outfit feared that the utterances and activities of the supposed Caretaker Committee Chairman would further polarize and weaken the base of the party if not sanctioned by the national leadership of the party

It decried that the man and his sponsors were clearly on a mission to further throw spanners into the progress being made in the party, warning that unwanted manoeuvering by some self-styled leaders of the party could be counterproductive unless urgently redressed.

In the interim, the campaign organization has urged the party members to remain calm as the party would be victorious at the end; stressing, "Our current challenges will be our stepping stones to victory. Let's just remain calm and be law-abiding"

*INEC List: I’m Unperturbed, Dotun Babayemi Reacts*

Omooba Dotun Babayemi,the governorship candidate of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has insisted of not being disturbed by the list released by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the state July 16 gubernatorial polls.

Babayemi maintained that he has unshakable faith in the ongoing legal process, assuring that the will of the people would prevail and he would be vindicated at the end of the day.,

Reacting to the INEC list through a statement issued by his Media Office,he stressed that the list released was a product of a calendar of a defined process which could not be termed final, pointing out that by INEC’s timetable,”16th June,2022, is the last day for publication of the final list of nominated candidates by the Commission”

“There’s nothing final about the list and I’m sure that somebody somewhere knows that.It’s only the uninformed that can think it’s the end of the process,because it’s on INEC’s timetable; the list published is just the submission by various parties. Fortunately, there’s a window of opportunity provided by the new Electoral Act and that’s what we are exploring because we believe in the rule of law. Everything you are seeing are tailor-made processes which are amenable to changes when the need arises on account of judicial pronouncements” Babayemi further clarified


The governorship hopeful assured the good people of Osun that he would triumph at the court,noting that INEC as an agency of government,respects the rule of law and would act accordingly when the court makes it pronouncements on the issues at hand.

Babayemi then appealed to the people of the state,especially PDP members to remain calm and not to take laws into their hands; assuring, ”The case of Osun PDP is sub judice and not final."

*Osun:Two Remanded For Destroying PDP Guber Posters*

A Magistrate Court sitting in Iree, Osun State,has ordered that two people be remanded at Ilesa prison for destroying the posters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Omooba Dotun Babayemi.

Waheed Okunola(aka Omo Ola)and Jimoh Azeez(aka Sake),were said to have been caught on Tuesday while destroying and vandalizing posters of Babayemi said to worth over #100,000(hundred thousand naira).

Okunola and Azeez were said to have been handed over to the Divisional Police Office where they were said to have admitted to committing the offence, prompting the Police to charge them to the Magistrate Court.

Accordingly,Magistrate Olugbenga Oladoke who frowned at the act as capable of breaching the peace of the area,ordered that they be remanded at Ilesa prison till Tuesday, 19th April,2022

A Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, on Wednesday, granted the application of the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, for abridgement of time in a suit against the PDP, INEC and Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The court overulled the bid of the PDP to stop Babayemi's application for the abridgement of time in the case

Babayemi, in a suit with No:FHC/OS/CyS/26/2022 and presided over by Hon.Justice N.Ayo-Emmauel, is challenging that the respondents did not use the authentic party delegate list as ordered by the state High Court sitting in Ijebu-Jesa, presided over by Hon.Justice Adeyinka Aderibigbe.

I.T Tewogbola represented PDP while INEC and Senator Ademola Adeleke, were not represented at the proceedings.

Mr Yusuf Ali (SAN),leading other Counsels for the plaintiff, had applied for the abridgement of time so as to accelerate the hearing of the case and the Counsel to PDP opposed the application which was overruled by the court.

To this effect, the court granted Babayemi's prayers for the abridgement of time of 15 days for the respondents to file their respective responses while the applicant was given 2 days to file his further affidavit.

Consequently, Hon.Justice Ayo-Emmanuel adjourned the case to Wednesday,11th May,2022, for the hearing of the Substantive matter.

It is recalled that while on 3rd March,2022, an Osun State High Court sitting in Ijebu-Jesa, had authenticated the ward congress that produced 215 delegates under the then state Chairman, on 10th March,2022, again, the same court pronounced that the PDP governorship primary election that produced Omooba Dotun Babayemi as the gubernatorial candidate,was the legally recognized because the delegates that voted for him were the ones backed by the law.
